My Husband and I bought a home in University City because of the old world esthetic and the shady tree lined streets. We were smitten. Tony came to my home just yesterday because I was concerned about some masonry work that needed to be done. I know Tony and his company because I hired them back in 2010 or so to do some tuckpointing, remove a chimney and to patch some spots on the house masonry. They did a great job then, and Tony wasted no time getting out yesterday to see what I needed. He looked at my concern areas and then continued to inspect the masonry areas. He pointed out several other areas that really needed some attention. I agreed and was thankful of his assessment. He said "I'll be here at 7:30 tomorrow morning", and ready to start work. He and 2 crew members pulled up on time, assessed what needed to be done and set at it! By 10:00 am they had completed all work to my satisfaction. They completely cleaned up after their work and left the areas neat. All trash went with them when they left my property. My front porch is one big concrete slab that was badly sinking forward into my front yard and causing the support beams to detach from the roof. I called Irish Construction and Tony responded right away. He came out and assessed the issue then came to do the job the next day. Tony and his crew came out to my residence on time and worked very hard as they mud jacked my sinking porch. They did fast work and left no mess behind. Julia in the office was delightful to speak with and was very professional and the young woman on the crew named Shelby was quite impressive as well. Very happy to see there are still good workers around! I called a few companies and I'm more than satisfied with my decision to choose Irish Construction. Additionally they have a great attitude and gave me a fair price for the work. I have a 100+ year old house and discovered that the chimney--that ran through the center of the house--was leaning dangerously to one side. If nothing was done, then eventually the chimney would collapse with terrible consequences. Because the repair was extremely difficult it seemed impossible to find a company that was even wiling to come out and see the problem firsthand. Anthony Monaghan, owner/director of Irish Construction, was the only one who had enough confidence in the abilities of his workers to come assess the situation, explain exactly what could be done, and provide a bid. I offered him the job and he arrived with his crew the following Monday as promised. The job proved even more complicated than anticipated and additional steps and materials were required. Yet, Anthony did not add these expenses to my invoice. His foremost concern throughout the process was to get the job done right for the long-term safety and satisfaction of the homeowner. Tony and his crew are extremely easy to get along with. He has a sense of humor and is very upfront about costs. You are under the impression that he is there to earn a living and provide quality work. That is exactly what he did. My parents were looking to sell there home. Tony fixed up the front of the house with some carpentry cleaning up the appearance especially around the doors and windows. We added some exterior Stucco to give some texture and personality. Inside there were some minor repairs that needed to be done some carpentry and plastering. The job was done within a couple of visits. They showed up early and prepped then cleaned up after themselves before they left. The quality of work was excellent. I wanted to be around to make sure no one was taking advantage of my parents. Wanting to have some interior plaster work done, Toni from Irish Construction came over to give us a bid. He took a look at the exterior of our home and was concerned about some cracks and other problematic areas. As Toni put it, "Humans heal themselves, homes do not." :) We agreed to a very fair price and his crew did terrific work on our little 1918 bungalow. I'm not sure if they had to mix a certain color, but the stucco matches our paint beautifully! We can get away without painting for a while if we want to! While they were here, we had Toni a look at an interior basement wall that has leaked during torrential rains for twenty years. That day, they dug a trench on the exterior of the wall, placed hydraulic cement on the outside of the wall, and filled the trench back in with dirt. We are keeping our fingers crossed this is the final answer! Toni and his crew were here at the time specified and were efficient and courteous. read more

These guys are great! They finished up their work for me today and we couldn't be happier. It was a big job including tuckpointing, roof sealing, chimney repair, and plaster work inside. All was done quickly, professionally, and affordably. We had been having terrible water damage coming in every rain after the bad storms last July, and Tony's team came quickly, worked hard and throughout 2 days and completely repaired our chimney, tuck-pointed numerous spots where water was coming in, and repaired all the plaster damage from water on the inside of our living room, entry way, and our child's room. The damage was even more than previously anticipated but Tony and his team took care of it without issue. Will be calling them again soon to repair our steps and walkway. I'm giving them 5 stars because the work does look very well done, but this is my honest review. I called and they came out the next day. Many other companies I called for a quote never called me back or it told weeks to get a quote from. They completed all of the plaster repair and tuckpointing the same day. So the initial quote increased quite a bit after the job was done, but they did repair quite a bit more after assessing in person instead of based on photos. They cleaned up everything outside but did not clean up the inside after the plasterwork was completed. They used drop cloths but still left a decent a mess so some plaster needed to be scraped off the hardwood floors. Not saying I didn't expect some mess, but I've had others work on the house with less mess left behind. Overall still very satisfied with Irish Construction and would work with them again in the future. read more

Irish Construction did a fantastic job tuckpointing the front of my house to address water entering at the sill plate and under the windows. They pulled back the dirt, tuckpointed, filled with hydraulic cement, and pointed four additional areas, as well. The owner, Tony, responded to my request within two hours and met me at the house to provide a bid; it was fair, and he was able to accommodate my schedule and get a crew out the next morning. The guys worked very hard, were polite, and did an excellent job cleaning up as well. The following day I noticed an additional area that needed work, and Tony sent his crew back to finish the job; they pointed another place that I had missed, as well. Their office manager was very upbeat and friendly over the phone, and she even called to check up on things before and after the job to ensure everything was in order. I needed some tuck pointing work in a few areas around my house and Tony and his crew started work the next day and finished up the effort quickly. They even touched up a few areas along my home that I didn't catch during the initial estimate, but needed to be done, which was very much appreciated. After paying them for their work, I realized an area had been missed and they came back a few days later to finish the job, which was very much appreciated. However, Tony called back a week or so later, to let me know they had a cancellation in case we wanted them for the job.
