I remember doing shots of Tequila with many of the regulars mimicking Jack Nicholson in Easy Rider. I also played the Irish Pub in Saxonhausen district of Frankfurt and in Fulda. I also recall with a smile a huge body builder guy that used to come in that drove one of those little Nash Metropolitan Cars. I could never figure out how he even got in the little thing . We remember seeing this Irish Pub on our way to Sembach and decided to stop off for dinner. I LOVE the atmosphere of this Irish Pub/restaurant!!! It was just cold enough outside that they had a small fire going which filled the room with a nice wood smoke aroma which added to the atmosphere of an old Irish pub. There were a couple people sitting at the bar and 2 or three at some tables eating. The place was basically empty but looked like it could definitely support some drunken fun. :) I orded a Guiness and the Fish & Chips with mushy peas... Duh.. its an Irish Pub!!! The Guinness was at perfect temperature and went down VERY smooth!!! The Fish was a HUGE piece of Cod which was lightly battered and perfectly cooked... it was AWESOME!! The peas had a smoked hock taste and seasoned to perfection... i almost asked for another bowl. Great food, great irish pub atmosphere... If you are ever in the area and want some authentic Irish food and beer... The Irish House is the place to go!!!

Yeah, not feeling it…read more Moloney's is somewhere I drifted away from after never leaving fully satisfied. It seems to have a reputation amongst the people that go there as an institution. As if no other place existed to get drinks, Moloney's it is! This place just doesn't have what I look for in a bar. I'm not a bar snob, hell, I'm not even a big bar goer, I'm just a guy who seems to like a different kind of atmosphere. I suppose this place is just a matter of taste on how you prefer bars. I love pubs, Irish pubs at that because of what they carry. Irish whiskey and dark stouts are what make my life complete. And their drink selection is impressive, but for those who don't love standing in long lines or fighting through tons of people to a speedwell, it just doesn't mean much. And call me old, but I've spent more time on my feet on Moloney's then I have at any other bar in Kaiserslautern. Unless you're ready to get there early, or seriously fight for some table space, it's not worth it. I don't drink to get drunk, and I don't like to get rowdy when I drink. Moloney's caters to both. Like a previous reviewer said, you can actually do shots with the owner and staff. For some people that's a great way to have fun and meet people, I have no problems with that. For me, I see that as a huge red flag for industry unprofessionalism. I think Moloney's knows their target audience, and I'm not that person. I can't hardly fault a place for trying to be something to everyone, because it's obviously doing well. My two-cents? This place is awful.
