I am really working hard to get my mobility back. My therapist is so easy to talk and she doesn't make you feel like you could not be having these issues. She takes her time to instruct and give instruction as she shows you how the exercise is done properly. She's not standoffish, she genuinely. Now, My problem: I was using the leg press and noticed how NASTY the window are. They are grimy and can tell they haven't been cleaned in over a year if not two. I like focusing outside when doing exercises it helps me to stay grounded and to focus on something other than my stiffness and sometimes pain. I know this is just me but they really need to be cleaned but if cleaning is going to cause therapy to decrease leave them dirty. Thank you for listening

All of the PTs seem extremely professional and focused on patient care throughout the appointments. They are timely and efficient, ensuring that you are getting the most out of your time with them, and not waiting around in between exercises. All of the staff seem like friends, and it's always a fun environment chatting with everyone while working out. Everything is clean, and I feel like they do a great balance of exercises during my sessions to help me get back to 100%. It's easy to schedule, and they have availability early and late most days. I even scheduled my first appointment online! I've worked the most with Zach, my PT, and Andrew, a PT assistant, and they're both awesome! Dr. Mallempati: 5 stars His staff: 1 star…read more We made an appointment to see Dr. Mallempati in the Pell City location, which by the way, is not easy to find. He's only at this location one day a week, I think, and they use another doctor's office/optometrist (?) facility. There's really nothing that tells you he's there and when you're standing in line to sign in, there's a sign for a dermatology office and another for St. Clair Eye. We had to ask, "Are we in the right place?" So they took us back to a room within a few minutes - less than 30 minutes in the waiting area - and then... more waiting. We ended up waiting almost 2 hours and then finally someone came in and they admitted they totally forgot we were there. Ok, fine. They owned up to it and apologized, it's ok - we can move on from that. Dr. Mallempati was great, very thorough, and great bedside manner. He schedules an MRI and wanted us to come back after for a follow up. MRI was done and we return one week later. This time we saw him in his main location and thankfully, wait time was much better. His nurse practitioner saw us first and she was very thorough, but she interrupted us when we tried to tell her something and we had to make her listen. We saw Dr. Mallempati again, and he was great. He wanted us to schedule a nerve block which would be performed at Surgical Institute of Alabama. We immediately scheduled the nerve block for Dec 23rd, 2025 to be done at Surgical Institute, BUT they (Surgical Institute) would call us the day prior to confirm the time. No food or drink the day of the nerve block (prior to). Also, a 3 week follow up post-nerve block would be scheduled with Mallempati. December 22nd comes and by 3:30 p.m., we still had not received confirmation. We call Surgical Institute and the lady who answered the phone said, "What's your name? Oh yes, we have you down for tomorrow and they WILL be confirming this, but we're just really backed up. But you will hear something." We go to bed at 9 pm, still no word. December 23rd comes and we've taken vacation from work and are sitting here, waiting to hear. At 7:30 a.m., I call Surgical Institute and the lady who answered said rather rudely that that she had no idea what we were talking about, no appointment was scheduled for us. We repeated the story about how someone at her office said we WERE on schedule, and she kept repeating, "You need to call Mallempati's office - no one from there has ever sent us anything to do with your information." I called Tracy, Dr. Mallempati's nurse, and left a voice mail to PLEASE call us ASAP. By 9:30 a.m., we gave up hope and decided to eat/drink since obviously the nerve block wasn't happening. It's April 19th, 2026 and Tracy nor anyone else at OrthoAlabama Spine has yet to call us back. We've been completely ghosted by this facility, as if we were never there. We've told everyone we know to avoid this place - which is sad, because Dr. Mallempati is great.

They offer both homeopathic medicines as well the standard medications. Dr. Jimmeh (who sadly left during COVID) was the most knowledgeable and helpful, she was one of the best pain/neurologist doctors I've seen ever. The staff is always helpful, and easy to work with, Especially when BC/BS messes with medication coverage. Sadly after Dr. Jimmeh left I was put with another doctor, him and I didn't see eye to eye and my confidence in the Doleys clinic lagged. I may have left but I would still very much recommend them as one of the few good pain clinics in the Birmingham area. Just remember, although you are a patient, you are also a customer, so don't be afraid to be assertive and ask questions of your doctors. You will get the best care when you do.

He has since helped me recover from two rotator cuff surgeries and a meniscus repair. Currently, he is helping me avoid back surgery. Even though I have been treated by many PT's over the last 20 years, Terry is the one I will always return to. One of the many reasons I rely on Terry is that he stays with me while I'm doing prescribed exercises to ensure I'm doing them correctly. The majority of PT's I've been to, leave you on your own to do the exercises after they've done therapy. I have spent enough time in Terry's clinic to know that he is committed to the wellbeing of all his patients. Despite multiple attempts, I have been unable to reach the billing department. When I called the office for assistance, they were unable to help and simply transferred me back to billing, where no one answers the phone. To make matters worse, the note on the bill threatened collections. I attempted to pay the balance online, but the Phreesia payment system froze and would not complete the transaction. At this point, I have tried every available option: The billing department does not answer calls. The office staff cannot answer billing questions. Calls are routed back to billing with no resolution. The online payment system is not functioning. The physicians may provide good care, but the administrative and billing experience has been unacceptable. If patients cannot get answers to billing questions or make payments through the available channels, there are serious organizational issues that need to be addressed. Unfortunately, this experience has earned a well-deserved one-star review..
