Both my kids love it here! Staff is very hands on and do so many activities around motor, social, and language skills. I have seen immense progress with both of them especially with the pandemic. I was once one of this location's biggest supporters and gave it a 5-star review when Holly and Amanda were running things. Since the change in management, the experience has gone downhill significantly -- and this is not a reflection on the teachers, but on the director, Nicole. My daughter is under 2, and I've had several serious concerns: Clothing & outdoor play: I keep a full set of outfits on file for changes. On the hottest day of the year, my daughter was sent outside in a sweatsuit. When I raised this with Nicole, she told me the toddlers hadn't gone outside that day -- but I have a photo proving otherwise. Diaper supply: I provide over a month's worth of diapers at a time, yet I'm consistently given only one day's notice when supplies run low. One day is not enough time to order and deliver diapers. Four days' notice is a reasonable ask. Wood chips: The outdoor play area for toddlers contains wood chips, which are a choking hazard. My daughter came home with a splinter because her shoes weren't checked after outdoor play -- something that should be standard practice. Early pickup policy: My daughter was sent home after a single diaper blowout. I confirmed with my sister, who is a social worker, and with another KinderCare location that the actual policy requires three consecutive blowouts accompanied by a symptom. I believe staffing shortages may have been the real reason children were sent home that day. I gave this location every opportunity to make things right and addressed my concerns directly and respectfully. Unfortunately, the issues were never resolved. I've since transferred my daughter to another KinderCare location. Until this location improves its staffing and leadership, I would not recommend enrolling your child here. read more

It's been almost 3 years since my son started Irvine KinderCare and I am still very thankful that I found this daycare. At first, I was a bit hesitant sending my 17 months old son to a daycare because of his food allergies but Ms. Holly (Director) reassured me that this is not concerning at all as they have been accommodating food allergies. Ever since he started attending KinderCare, there has never been an incident where my son had to be given Benadryl or EpiPen. I've been going to Ms. Amanda (Assistant Director) to update his allergy forms and she makes sure everything is updated on file and with his teachers. I feel very secure sending my son here and I know how loving and caring the teachers are towards the children. Also, I really like that the center/teachers use an app portal which allows the parents to receive their child's daily report on activities, lunch and snack, naps, photos/videos, and special notes from the teachers. I find this very convenient tracking my child's well-being. Overall, we decided to keep our son at KinderCare as long as we can and look forward to his continuous growth and development at Irvine KinderCare :) read more

Our son (Noah) went here for 8 months for the toddler program (1-2 years) and we were extremely happy with them. The director and assistant director (Holly and Amanda) are both otustanding and the teachers in the toddler program were extremely good. We found everybody to be sweet, genuine, and caring. We especially liked Ms. Tracy, she was amazing! We ended up pulling our son out because we were going to be out of the country for an extended period of time, so our time there was cut a little short, but we really liked their program and our son made tremendous progress with his development while he was there. Holly and Alex are awesome directors/assistant directors! They are super responsive via email and are open to any and every question you have. We signed up to come here because of them. Most of these big box daycares are pretty standard but it's the director who makes a difference and this location has a great director. We did tours at several other daycare centers and Holly and Alex here at Irvine KinderCare was the most friendliest, welcoming, and helpful! They have a great sick policy to protect the kids and the location is very clean. We ended up not bringing our son here because of some personal private family issues that came up but they are absolutely on the top of our list of daycares that we will bring our son eventually! After moving here from NYC, I initially reached out to a friend about daycares in the Irvine regional area and she highly recommended sending our daughter here. We toured other daycares in the area but were very impressed after touring this facility and speaking to Ms. Holly. Unfortunately we were put on the waitlist but thankfully it didn't last long and we got a call back about an opening in the toddler room a few weeks later. We have not regretted sending our daughter here and plan on sending our infant son later this year. All the teachers here are such wonderful, caring and experienced educators. Our daughter has learned so much from all her teachers she's had thus far and would come home repeating songs and activities she's learned in her classroom. The teachers have been extremely diligent on sending us photos and videos of our daughter through the app and it's fun to see and watch how much fun all the kids are having in class. Another great thing about this school is that food (breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks) are included with the tuition. It saves us, as parents, time to not worry about packing food because I know kindercare will provide the kids with healthy, nutritious meals throughout the day. In addition to excellent teachers, this location also has amazing directors that were critical during Covid ensuring that everyone was safe and had strict safety protocols in place. Ms. Holly and Ms. Alex have been wonderful and can't say enough about their great teamwork! I remember the first day my husband and I sent our son here in the Infant Program and I was so sad to leave him. The staff were very understanding, compassionate, and my little guy seemed to have positive vibes with his teachers. Well here we are almost three weeks later, and I still appreciate the videos and photos I get to see through the app, reassuring me that my little man is in good hands. I like the fact that the Director Holly and Assistant Director Alex greet me, my husband, and our little guy, direct/efficient communication, and the staff know us. I'd recommend KinderCare to others because it's a clean environment which was very important to me, diversity of staff and students, and showing children the care/love they deserve to learn and grow! So it has been a nightmare trying to get a tour of the facility. At my last attempt, I called to confirm my tour time 30 min prior. When I arrived the classroom I saw from the waiting room had one teacher on the phone and the other yelling to the kids to sit. I mean what kid would sit if the adult in front of them is on their phone? Then the director told me they had to cancel my tour! So I called to complain, and no one got back to me. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, my son was staying at home for almost a year. Recommended by a friend, we found this daycare. I have to give this friend a big thank-you because this place is wonderful. My son is super shy since he's been home for too long, but his teachers patiently care for him, guide him and encourage him, so he becomes confident and happy to be here pretty soon. Besides, my son can only speak a little bit English at first since we mainly speak Mandarin at home. To make him get involved to daycare life more easier, one of his teachers sometimes speaks Mandarin to him too, which makes him more comfortable and the transition for him becomes more natural. I enrolled my LO here based on my friends' recommendation. Their kids loved it here and loved the staff. I can see why. Holly and Alex answered all of my questions and what COVID precautions they had in place. What I really appreciated was they did not mind, and in fact, encouraged me to call and check in often when my LO first started to help ease my anxiety. And they explained to me how they were going to help my LO adjust to daycare. I like how I get pictures throughout the day to see what they're doing and how much fun my LO is having. I wanted to update this review to make sure not only people realize how much of a gem this place is, but that what the teachers do there really makes an impact, and how much it has meant to us. We've known that we wanted to prioritize language immersion for our kids, but never anticipated how hard it would be to leave Kindercare (if they had language immersion, we definitely would have stayed). We never realized how much our child soaked in from Kindercare, until we left (she happened to become super talkative the week we left ). Things we observed: - Sign language for basic words are used consistently since they are young, I believe starting in the infant room ('more,' 'please,' 'thank you,' 'all done,' 'change').. and wow, once her motor skills kicked in, she was using them all the time! Now that she's potty training, I'm impressed with her understanding of using 'change' when her diaper is soiled. - Manners, like 'please' and 'thank you' are used regularly. - Kids are shown how to clean up - unsure if passive or active, but we were impressed that she would (try to) clean up her own spills, put stuff in the trash can, take her dishes to the sink, etc... imagine our surprise when she was doing things without being prompted. - Songs are broken down slowly (or played to insanity - probably both) with hand/ dance movements, and with learnings on what things are (for example, "Old MacDonald" - they break down the animals. How do I know this? Bc I accidentally discovered that she knew the animals and sounds when I called her a chunky monkey and she responded with a monkey sound. Yes, I know monkeys aren't a part of the song, but still). This may seem small, but I caught her singing "Wheels on the Bus," and "You are My Sunshine," to herself one day (poorly, but still recognizable - to say my heart exploded of cuteness overload may be an understatement). She can't say "Baby Shark" or "Itsy Bitsy Spider," but I know what she wants because of the hand movements/ dances associated with the songs, that the teachers taught her - I'm certain that has prevented many frustrated melt-downs with us. - The school knew we were expecting, so unsure if this was a part of the curriculum or done bc they knew this, but they taught our daughter about babies - being quiet around them, gentle touches, helping feed. She took to her new sibling like a pro, and I know it was in part due to the teachings from Kindercare. I need to continue to acknowledge the amazing teachers - Ms. Gee, Ms. Khan, Ms. Kaylyn, Ms. Lorna, Ms. Barbara, Mr. Kevin, Ms. Amanda, Ms. Natalie, Ms. Tanya, Ms. Holly, Ms. Alex.. I am certain I've missed a few, but this school is seriously the best and I can't thank them enough. read more

Our 3yo has been attending since she was 1.5, and the staff at KinderCare now feel like a part of our extended family. We initially sought out daycares that provided caregiving, plus a good mix of teaching, play, and socialization, and I've been impressed on all fronts. Our daughter comes home happily teaching us the songs she learns about numbers, days, months of the year, and she's always talking about all of her favorite friends to play with. She and her teachers seem to love having conversations with each other too, and it's been a wonder watching her grow and learn under them. I had my third child in late 2019 and due to the pandemic he was at home with me for nearly 15 months while working from home. When vaccinations were starting to become widespread, I enrolled my toddler here, who had little interaction with me during the day, was speech delayed, and had no interest in books. Well, its been almost 3 months and you can see the difference these early educators have made. He's finally starting to verbalize and catch up, has gained interest in reading books, and learning important skills like sitting together and circle time. If there's one thing I want to get out from this review is to tell you that this KinderCare has GREAT teachers. We recently moved our daughter out of this KinderCare and we thoroughly miss it. I got to admit, in the beginning I was very worried, this was after all our only child and she wasn't eating very much initially. Eventually, we got to know the teachers very well and they taught my daughter a lot of fun things like dancing and putting up her hands when you yell out "GOOAAAAL!" (world cup was going on at the time haha). Every time a song comes on now my daughter gets excited and dances and she was so happy in general. During this time she was in the infant room with Ms Natalie, Ms Tania and Ms Heather. Their strengths complement each other very well and would entrust my daughter to any of them any day. You have a bit of structure, a lot of fun and love. Then she moved on to 12 months and up class where Ms Sonia and Ms Barbara took super good care of our daughter. I'm a bit of a germophobe so it was bit tough seeing her coming home dirty sometimes but let me tell you this, my daughter now goes to a Montessori and now comes home clean but that also means I have no idea whether she actually did anything at school. I can also tell you that my daughter's behavior was way more happy coming home from Irvine KinderCare than her new Montessori. We are really considering putting her back here as the Montessori style is just not a good fit for our daughter. Shout out to Ms Indika for coming by every now and then and taking care of our little daughter. I don't have personal experience but heard great things about the rest of the teachers Mr Kevin , Ms Maria, Ms Grace etc. Oh and special thank you to the director Ms Holly for letting me call her and bug her in the initial period of enrollment. It really helped to just have an update on our daughter. I work pretty far away so it's hard for me to know what's going on there so it helps to know I can just call Ms Holly and ask how my daughter is doing. She will actually go into the class and check up on our daughter. When we do it now at the new Montessori school, the Montessori director just says "she's okay" without even checking up on our daughter. Very frustrating. My daughter has been attending this daycare since she was 3 months old. She is now 2.5 years old and we are thankful for this school each and everyday. My husband and I know that our daughter is in good hands when we drop her off. My daughter has been going to this KinderCare location since she was about 3 months old. She has experienced the infant room, the toddler room, and the 2's room. She has loved them all. Dropping her off when she was so little was so hard and scary but once we saw how well the infant teachers cared for her it became a lot easier. As she has gotten older and switched classrooms the experience has been the same. The teachers in every room have been so kind and patient with her. Every morning all of the teachers seem genuinely excited to see her and they greet her with excited voices and big hugs. At pick up time she is always happy and tells me that she had a great day! At home she is always singing new songs that she learned from her teachers. She also loves to pretend that she is a teacher and loves to remind my wife and I to listen and have good table manners. I can't recommend this KinderCare enough. While we are at work my wife and I know that our daughter is safe and loved. That's all we can ask for. We have been part of this KinderCare family for the past 5 years. We started my oldest daughter here at 3 months old and have been here ever since! She has been a part of every classroom - from infant, to toddler, to 2s, preschool, and preK, and we have been so happy with every one of them. We loved it so much that we enrolled our second daughter here as well, even in the middle of the pandemic, because we knew they would do their absolute best to keep her healthy and safe, happy and engaged. The girls love all of their teachers and everybody knows them by name. They have made so many friends and every day are doing something fun - crafts, songs, story time, planting and gardening, and lots of learning too. As busy parents, we are so appreciative that they provide meals and snacks that are well balanced and expose the girls to new foods that they wouldn't try at home...and it is so convenient to not have to worry about packing lunch. And each day we get pictures and updates sent to us via the app so we can see what they are up to! It is such a relief to have found a place that loves our kids the way that we do. One thing I hate is bad customer service. If you can't be nice to the parents that potentially want to put their kid into the school, then I doubt that you really do take care of those kids who are already there. I had a 9:30 appt to see the school with my 1 yr old. I arrived on time but the door was locked and I couldn't get in and no one was at the front. I called the school but no one picked up. I saw some teachers outside with the kids and I asked them to help. One of them was the assistant director (I think her name was Alex). She was just sitting there and would not even get up to talk to me. She yelled out rudely 'You have to wait". I told her that I have a 9:30 appt but she didn't care. She yelled out rudely again 'You have to wait ten minutes'. I was taken aback by this. Basically I was waiting with my 1 yr old in the parking lot while she sat there chatting away with other teachers. She didn't even say come in and wait in the office. She knew I was waiting in the parking lot because she could see me and I could see her. Then I saw another teacher walk into the building and asked her about my appt and she said that she would get the director.. but she never came back or did the director. The director was not in the office and she didn't even bother to tell me that. So now I am waiting in the parking lot for 20 minutes with my 1 year old. I then see another teacher and tell her whats going on, she takes me to the back to see Alex again.. again she just sits there and tells the other teacher 'I told her to wait'. 'She has to wait'. All so very RUDELY and with Attitude! I then tell her I have been waiting for 20 mins. She doesn't seem to really care because her answer was the same. I then tell her that I have to get to work and I don't have time to wait around like this. She didn't care! I will NEVER consider this school for my child. If the teachers especially the ADA is like this... then who knows how they treat the kids. Good to be warned before hand and not after. Also, this center would cost me almost $1600 per month which I don't mind paying if it's the right place for my kid. But after this experience, I am not sure what I would be spending this money for.... read more

I would be very careful sending your child here. We recently moved to Irvine and my wife made an appointment. We arrived about 10 minutes early for the appointment, and the woman at the front seemed rather annoyed at this. She told us, "I have things to do, so you'll have to wait." If the person giving tours of the place is nasty and has a bad attitude towards potential customers, I can't imagine entrusting my kid to be around that environment when we are not there to watch. While we were waiting, I wandered around to see what kids were doing in various parts of the center. It has to be the first time I've seen a daycare where none of the kids were playing. It was very disturbing. The place just kind of had an unwelcoming aura. Needless to say, we bailed. Before considering this facility I'd highly recommend you show up unannounced and observe. read more

I have my two girls at this Kindercare. My older daughter has been attending this Kindercare since she was 9 months old. She just turned 4 and she can read as well as a first grader (I am a second grade teacher at a blue ribbon school). This is due to the excellent staff at this school. If you think about it, your child spends more time with the teacher in a given day and having a dedicated teacher makes all the difference. The preschool teachers (for 4 year olds ) , miss Daisy and Ms. Shondra, make learning so fun that my daughter doesn't want to come home when we go to pick her up. Ms. Indika, who teaches three year olds, has high expectations of kids- academically, socially, and behaviorally. She is a true gem who has help build a strong foundation for learning. Her academic curriculum is very solid- so strong that I didn't move my daughter to the ever so popular Montessori school. My daughter has learned all over her letters and letter sounds with her. She also learned simple addition and subtraction. She can now read and write all the sight words that first graders need to know for spelling tests. Miss Alysha , Miss Jennifer , and Miss Araceli helped my daughter potty train when I was helpless and scared about the whole potty training thing. They've coached me and communicated with me daily to get my daughter potty trained when she turned 2. Miss Alex (assistant director) is heaven sent. She is a phenomenal teacher who always looks out for students and parents. She truly loves and cares for all the kids at this school. Miss Tanya and Miss Chanel in infant room , and all other infant/toddler room teachers- I was so thankful to have such dependable, trustworthy teachers that I could completely trust with the care of my two girls. In response to another review- Kids will always be sick and they will always be passing germs. We, as parents, can't keep our kids at home until they are 100% better. Both of my girls were sick every other week for the first year or so as they started school. But this is the case for all the kids at all schools. Even my own elementary school's principal assured me that my girls will develop strong immunek system earlier on, so that they won't be sick when they start elementary school. So although it was heartbreaking and frustrating to watch my kids be sick as they started school, we stuck with the school. IT is definitely not the school's fault, or any school's fault, for having sick kids. As for my 4 year old daughter, she now has sniffles here and there but she hasn't had a fever or a severe illness since she turned 2. For new parents that are shopping for childcare/preschool- I strong advise you to actually visit the school that you are interested in- see the kids and teachers for yourself. Don't make decisions based on yelp reviews. What you read here is based solely on one person's experience. read more

I've now been bringing my son to this KinderCare every week for over four years. He has been in every classroom from infant to pre-K, and we've experienced everything daycare has to offer. I think it's time for a review. For starters, the daycare experience is predicated on a genuine interest in care and education on the part of the staff. You can't possibly understand that by merely touring the facility. On your tour, you're going to only grasp at the basics -- price, hours, what the place looks like, a little bit of their policies. I can tell you, after more than four years, I'm still learning what matters and what doesn't about a preschool, and this KinderCare has it where it counts. They really know how to attract the sort of teachers you want raising your child with you. I'm talking about caregivers who develop a special relationship with every child. Teachers who are so much more than the glorified babysitters you find at smaller, cheaper options. As the years have screamed by and my child has suddenly gone from a babe-in-arms to a nicely-functioning preschooler, I've come to think of the people at this KinderCare as family. There's nothing more important than that. I'm talking about genuine care. People who actually want to shape your child into a good person. They've never let me down. Think about that -- as a parent, I've made plenty of mistakes, and my kid always lets me know, repeatedly, when I do. But in over 200 weeks of bringing him to this school, and counting all of the different teachers he's had in that time, he has never once reported something to me that gave me pause about them. That is remarkable. In a few short weeks, our time here will be over, and we'll be headed to Kindergarten. It's going to be very hard on me, probably more than my son. Worst daycare ever!! my daughter cried and all she needs was a small blanket to keep her comfort but they wouldn't let her have it. They would rather let her cried all day, so stupid. My daughter has been attending KinderCare for almost a year and it has been a great experience. The directors and teachers are consistent, very nice, competent and available. My daughter loves going to school and has learned a great deal. We like the hours available for care at no extra charge, as well as, the meals and snacks being included. Also, they are open all year (except holidays of course!). When your kid LOVES to go to school, then you know something is being done right! The only reason I am taking one star off is that we wish they use more technology (i.e IPads, email, etc) for daily student's reports and pictures, maybe an app where parents could login and see pictures from the day, as well as, activities, etc. They are old school with paper reports and paper photos. Lastly, a quarterly report about the child's progress would be nice. Overall a great and safe child care center! read more

We were pretty new to this area whne we enrolled our 3 years old here. He wasn't potty trained when he joined this center and we had a great help from his teachers to train him. We get the updates from his teachers throughout the day like pictures and reports, which help us stay updated. All the teachers and staff are friendly and they follow proper covid measures. Our son has attended from the infant room up through (as of now) discovery preschool and we've had nothing but good things to say since day one. The director and assistant director do an amazing job of keeping things running smoothly, and we've loved every single one of the teachers. The pandemic threw all of us for a loop, but the added precautions and communication they implemented gave us the confidence to keep our son attending. We absolutely love getting to see pictures, videos, and status updates delivered throughout the day on the Kindercare app, helping us feel more connected and in the loop. My Granddaughter has been attending here since her parents moved into the area in November 2015. She attends 3 days a week and I share drop off and pick up duties with my daughter. I therefore spend time with My Granddaughters teacher Ms Maria. I have found Ms Maria to be very caring and shows a genuine interest in her children. Ms Maria has helped with potty training and encouraged us to persevere with the process with pleasing success. Ms Maria shows a lot of love towards her children and seems to get the best out of them. I am so grateful for this KinderCare location! We started taking our son here about 3 months ago when he was only 12 weeks old and we're so glad we found such a great center. The director and assistant director are wonderful and you can tell how much they care about each child. The KinderCare app is awesome, we get updates and photos throughout the day so we always feel like we know how his day is going. The curriculum for all ages includes anti-biased learning and highlights a different culture each month, which is so important. Overall I feel like my little boy is safe and loved here, we couldn't be happier with our choice in childcare. read more
