We browsed the Conch Republic Divers shop that offers scuba and angler items and is across from Chris' Bait & Tackle if you're going to grab things for your boating trip. The Habanos restaurant sits next to the Tavernier Creek Bridge but never got the chance to try their food since the employee refused to unlock the door 5 minutes early. When we made the reservation for the last day of our trip as that's what he said they had availability wise. The guy on the phone asks us to pick a boat I said we didn't know the difference so he picked it and we paid the deposit. On the day of the booking we get up early at 3am and make the 2hr drive to Bud N Mary's and are told to find the Spartan at the very end of the dock and she. We get there the owner claims he was never told of a booking by the front office and he has no caption. Then when he does find the message he was sent showing our booking he says the weather is too rough and he isn't even sure if he can get the captain out to drive it so we can go get a refund on our deposit. All the other charters were booked up. I get it that weather can be an issue and there might be some last minute changes, but overall this was a terrible and extremely disappointing experience. I can't not believe that a business would be run this way. I would not recommend this place based on my experience here.

Then, if you're out on one of Whale Harbor Marina's charters and catch a fish, they will cook it for you...can't be a better deal or taste treat than that. For Charters, they have a whole bunch of them, all with licensed captains as well as knowledgeable and season crews. Besides fishing, there are also offerings of sunset, snorkeling, sandbar, and other such cruises. There is good dockage, and if you come in by boat, even a dockage spot reserved for restaurant use.

After stocking up on provisions we were off, with lovely temperatures and steady 15-20 knot breezes from the east, the Watkins may be an older design but in those conditions she excelled, the dolphin certainly enjoyed playing alongside. If you want to charter in the Keys Treasure Harbor is a great place, Pam maintains a beautiful peaceful facility- if you like sailing this is THE place to go. It was my 3rd stay and I have spent thousands of dollars there. It is completely unappreciated. I have contacted the owners and I filed a complaint with the BBB. I have yet to receive a response from them. I am owed an apology and a change in management is in order. There are other more reputable places to stay. I would check them out first.

We were only looking for shelter, but Catoosa Cove Marina proved to be far more than that. The staff were very professional and got us safely tied up in winds that were gusting to 25 knots. The laundry and showers were outstanding, and we enjoyed excellent meals at their restaurant, Habano's.
