Maltipoo in my arms and was immediately approached by a worker telling me to return the dog to the car and someone needed to stay in the car with the dog. When I asked why, she said it is just their policy. Well, they can forfeit my business as well. Stupid rules for a place with some signs in a field. Waste of time.

There's the main lavender gardens that are in bloom June/July and September/October, as well as another garden with many different types of lavender that still had some blooming in August. After checking out the gardens and self-guided tours, you can pop into the gift shop and buy all manner of things made with lavender, from culinary items to body care to home goods. I'm a big fan of the lavender chocolate tea having had it prior to this visit. Don't miss out on the fossil that's across from the gift shop! There's a little plaque for it. There's a pretty big parking lot when you first drive in and another parking lot past the gift shop that's in the shade. Bathrooms are available. All of the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I know they host a huge lavender festival in the summer, but I have yet to attend. If you want to learn the most, that might be your best bet, but visiting at another time is best to avoid the crowds. While this isn't something I would drive from Halifax just to see, if you're in the area, it's worth the ~15-30 minutes to check it out!
