A little over a month ago, we had to have my car towed. Our normal shop was not able to come get it. So we called Island Towing. They were going to charge us $351 to load it and take it about 6 miles. We ended up having it towed to our house so our final bill was $494. I knew this was high but had no choice but to pay it. I checked with a couple different towing places and we were, in fact, charged more than customary. I would NOT recommend ISLAND TOWING. I feel like we were taken advantage of in an unfortunate circumstance. So if you are ever in a situation where you have to be towed from an accident, BEWARE! Support the great businesses in our town the DON'T overcharge. If I help one person avoid getting price gouged, then this post was worth the time. read more

We had blown a tire and we called them asking for a jack to get delivered to us as we broke ours. The guy on the phone got an attitude with us. We proceeded to pay $75 dollars to get a jack delivered to us. The guy was rude to us because we were stressed and changed the wrong tire because of where the smell came from. I would have hoped the guy would have been willing to help us considering I had paid $75 to borrow a JACK. Terrible customer service. I do not recommend. read more

Just waisted 2 hr son highway because of these guys. Called them, because of close proximity to my vehicle that needed to be towed. They were less then 5 miles away. Was promised to get picked up/towed in 1 hr. Had to cancel after multiple calls back to them, because of their lack of ability to keep promises and poor customer service. Just know this is the worst place you can have your vehicle towed to. They make everything 1000x's more difficult than it needs to be. I was literally hit and t-boned by a lady who wasn't paying attention and had no insurance. When police asked me where I want it towed to, I said I didn't care, as I had no idea about any of the lots here. Just know if you end up with a car here, you are so unbelievably screwed. I had the title to the car with my name on it, insurance, and everything they needed; but still wouldn't let me get my belongings out of the car. I want to know how someone gets their hands on a title with their name and yet that's not enough proof. Then I was asked if I wanted to go register it in Nebraska first?!?! WTF, why would I take a totaled car and get it registered here, that was one of the dumbest questions I've been asked. Then on top of that, I told them I was from another state, in order to get more documentation outside of the title, insurance, and drivers license which all are in my name; he went on to say well it's only 130pm there, so you have time before we close at 4pm. Just think about that for a second, what does it matter what time it is anywhere in the world if a place closes in 30 minutes?!?! At the end of the day YOU close in 30 minutes. To add insult to injury, I am just trying to get belonging out, but now it's rained and is suppose to continue to rain. The few things I could have maybe recouped are probably destroyed by now. I literally could go on and on, with how ridiculously stupid this whole business is. The most perplexing part was, what did they get out of this gross incompetence? I have no idea. If you are towed by Island Towing or J&E, just know you are in for a rough ride of incompetence. Part of me should have known better, knowing I was in a small backwoods town. read more

so i needed a new key fob and was referred to these jokers. i called on a friday and was told that the key would be overnighted as my vehicle was stuck in a grocery parking lot. the price was high but cheaper than the dealer and apparently quicker. so i call the next afternoon and am told that overnight doesnt mean overnight if they do it on a friday. then overnight means it comes on monday. now i actually buy and sell a lot of things on the internet and have overnight shipped many many things out on an early friday that have arrived on saturday. i asked why they didnt just use 3 day priority which would have been cheaper and the key would have arrived the same day. no answer for that one. but hey theres nothing i can do about it. so monday the guy meets me at the car and guess what he cant program the key because he needs a code. so he tells me he has to go eat and get the code and it will be around an hour but he cant come back to the car. so i arrange to go to island towing after and hour and he is still eating and has another key before he can get to mine. so he tells me to meet him at the car at 3. i asked why he could suddenly meet me when he told me earlier that he couldnt come back. he said i misheard him. so i leave there at 230 and go back to the car at 3. he programs the key but it wont work in the ignition. i stand there and after another 10 minutes he figures it out but still cant start the car. turns out he wasnt fully turning the key....so the whole process that started at 1230pm lasted until 320pm. no discount nothing. i will never do business there again. read more

This towing company is the best in the area. They helped my friend and I out of a ditch. We were about to flip the vehicle. He helped us out in the middle of the night when nobody else would. These guys are awesome! read more
