Everyone's meat dishes were really dry, fish platter that me and my friend shared tasted really weird (then we both had poorly tummys the next day!), imam baildi starter was super oily, bread was nowhere near as fresh and pillowy as Turkish bread I've had in other places like Olive & Thyme in Chorlton. Quite disappointing and rather expensive considering the quality... On the plus side, the wine was nice, the service was good and the Turkish delight they gave us with the bill was fabulous. Not enough to make us return I'm afraid. In my opinion Turkish is an amazing cuisine but quite simple and difficult to mess up if you're using good ingredients. Marmaris need to up the quality I'm afraid!

However this time, I got a takeaway on my way back from the cinema (the savoy, I would 100% recommend) and ordered it before I went to watch the movie and told them to have it ready for 8:30. I was early and ended up getting there at 8:15 so fair enough it shouldn't have to be ready for that time but I ended up getting the food at 8:40 and when I got back home I realised that I hadn't exactly got the food I wanted. They gave me about 5 boxes of rice instead of 2 of chips and 2 of rice. I also ordered the meze which should've been 2 of 3 different things, I ended up getting 2 of 2 different things but I did get a free garlic bread (because the order was over £20). This was a little annoying but the food that I did get was great so I would recommend.

The aptly named establishment (Antalya is one of my fav holiday destinations) not only has a much better interior, staff and vibe but also serve some decent grub. A barbecue style grill has you in a foodie tizzie with the delicious aromas before you've even entered. The recent heatwave has meant the outside seating area has been a beehive of activity. The atmosphere is always relaxed and the shisha is always of the highest quality. Pomegranate and Guava are mixture of flavours I'd recommend. I'm slowly working my way through the food menu and tried the chicken skewers and wings thus far. Both were delicious with a healthy side of salad and amazing Turkish bread. Next on my list to try are the lamb livers. Slowly working my way through the best Shisha spots in Manchester. Might make a list... Watch this space.

I went with a group of 10 people for a bday celebration of an ex housemate. The staff coped really well with a big group and we were taken very good care of. They don't put a tip on as standard even for a large group - I prefer this practice, other restaurants please take note! The menu has lots of choices, too many - I wanted everything! I had the deep fried halloumi in batter. It was delicious, perfectly done but I'd have preferred a better salad garnish, it just had 3 wedges of raw tomato with balsamic glaze. Friends shared the mezze platter and this looked great. Everyone said the starters were fantastic. I then had a steak casserole dish with star annise and cinnamon. The mains come with a choice of rice, chips, salad or roast potatoes. I went for chips and they were perfectly cooked, the rice looked good on other plates too. The meat was tender and the onions in my dish were lovely and sweet. I really enjoyed it. They brought out a piece of chocolate fudge cake with candles and sang for my friends bday, a nice touch. We all tried a bite of cake and the fudge icing was delicious. I had a medium sweet coffee which was the only down side of this meal for me. The Greek delight it came with (a piece of pink sweet very like Turkish delight) was amazing but the coffee itself was very bitter and full of grainy residue. The lamb in Qabili Pilau here was a little over done for my liking and in slices rather than a big piece. I'm not sure which is more traditional but I much prefer the lamb shank style. The starter of mint, parsley, raddish, feta and walnut was quite tasty although a little different to what I'm used to. If your new to this style of food then Ariana is a safe bet but I would reccomend trying elsewhere.

Yes they do serve some English food but despite the name, which has obviously confused so many on here, it is the place where you will find the best Kobeda Kebab in Manchester! They've been serving these mouthwatering kebabs for over 30 years & were the first to do so in the area. The kebab is a minced lamb sausage style much like a kofte kebab, but infinitely better and is served on fresh naan with salad and extremely tasty sauces. For those with a healthy appetite, try a double - highly recommended! I hope this has cleared up the situation & will lead to other kebab lovers like myself visiting this fine and long-standing establishment.

I recommend getting the Chili and Yoghurt sauce on the side - you get much more and it's fun for dipping! Prices are very reasonable for what you get, about £5.50 for 2 meats on nann with salad and sauce cannot be beat for quality and price. There is a decent sized seating area upstairs as well as down stairs. This place is always busy, even at 2am in the morning! The only let down is the onion bhajis which are just microwaved and go a little soggy and loose there fresh crispiness but this is not a reason not to try here. If you are after decent food at decent prices then you must try. Just don't expect the Ritz...

And it is a bit of an institution (there's another one on Wilmslow Road down in the Fallowfield end). Saajan has been rustling up asian cuisine for about fifteen years now, I believe. They must be doing something right. Saajan promotes itself as only using the finest ingredients and things like that - but its definitely all 100% Halal and the food really does taste good. Fresh starters, unusual mains - like prawns - and a great, fast service make it stand out from some of its rivals. This one has plenty of seating upstairs, and a few tables downstairs, so you don't have to only enjoy their delights in the cold outside. I hate the cliche bright orange and red of the counter and its still not something I would think of as a proper restaurant though, but still.
