This was only one of two restaurants around the Obelisk Hotel that didn't have annoying and aggressive front door bullies steering tourists into their establishments. There's definitely an inverse relationship between the quality and value of the food and how obtrusive the entrance workers are. Lokantas is a Turkish cafeteria that serves up soups and stews, it's usually a better deal than the kebab restaurants. I very much enjoyed the food here, and for the most part the customers were not tourists but rather locals. We sat near a Russian family and the wife mother had long black hair. I wanted to ask her to say "Moose and Squirrel" but the Chief of Staff wouldn't allow it. read more
