A selection of bats (from low end to high end), batting pads in all shapes, sizes and weights, and a similarly wide variety of gloves and the now essential helmets. I also remember that they were willing to advise me in terms of exactly what I was looking for and how much I was willing to pay, and I clearly remember that they knocked 10% off the total price because I told them which team I played for. So I went back in last week, and gladly, nothing seems to have changed. I'll remember this place if I ever take up cricket again.

It stocks a fantastic selection of cricket equipment all year round, along with all other sports equipment. One of the major pulls of this shop is that PC Sports is the official outlet for all the local schools where you can purchase all school uniforms and accessories. A great shop on Yeadon High Street, with excellent, friendly and knowlegable staff. Well worth a stop by.

Leagues are on every night with various levels, as well as pitches that can just be rented. Prices have crept up quite slowly in the past few years. Bar is good, with bar staff usually very friendly. Can be hired out for parties. Parking is not bad, but does get a bit crampt at the peak times through the week.

They have more one-off items rather than the cheap bulk buy sportswear. They cater for adults - men and women and for kids - but, i think the female choice isnt as great as the mens unless you are more of a tomboy. They seem to be all about tshirts and jogging bottoms and tops. The choice of trainers is emmense - i love looking in here as i love my trainers. The store is nice and clean and the staff are very polite and friendly.

I can't say that it's the kind of place that bowls me over with excitement, but then I'm not the most preppy of people, and despite enjoying a good country walk I wouldn't be first in line to volunteer for a work football team for example! Nevertheless, I appreciate that not everyone has the lazy disposition that I am blessed with and that there are plenty of people out there with sporting needs and desires. For those healthy types in Otley, there is J R Sports. It differs from its neighbour, Rock One, mostly on the basis that this shop sells more sports oriented gear as opposed to more hiking and outdoors gear, though for a noob like me there is little distinction! However, they've some really reasonable prices on their specialist gear so it's really not bad to browse in. As well as any kind of work out style gear this shop also does trophies and engraving, which is great for local sports events, and it does printing and embroidering - perfect again for local sports teams and matches! An all round winner in the arena of sportly gear!

They have a pretty good range of clothing, shoes, and accessories for lads and lasses, the majority of the girls stuff being upstairs, along with the shoes, and kids stuff. Its not the cheapest place in the area, but its better than oneill, and its all good branded items sich as animal, element, and quiksilver. Alongside clothing, they sell wallets, belts, backpacks, and more. Great place to get a whole new outfit if you have the money.

There is a tent area with a small group of erected tents and nearby the sleeping bag area features a mannequin trying to catch forty winks while shoppers pass. They really do love their mannequin displays in Cotswold! If you're the kind of person who gets slightly creeped out having apologised after backing into someone, only to see a blank shiny plastic face staring back...then beware! There is a wide range of products here from waterproof climbing attire and ice axes to plastic crockery, kids' wellies and baby carriers. It's great for climbers, skiers, snowboarders, campers, hikers or just general travelers -it even includes a sizable section dedicated to travel books. I'd say prices are about average for outdoor shops and the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable.

Well, fortunately, Cotswold Outdoor saved my bacon (and my potentially cold bum) when I needed to source out something for Beacons Festival last weekend. I ran in, in quite a flurry, and found a member of staff. My basic words were thus: "I need a sleeping bag, a tent, a chair and an air bed. All really cheap." His response: "No problem." And he was telling the truth. To be fair, I probably could have sourced out cheaper than I got, but that would have involved pre-planning and buying online. This was not an option. Nonetheless, within about 10 minutes we had all the things I needed for a few nights in a field, and all for just over £100. Pretty good. The stand out experience here though was the staff; both chaps who helped me (they even let me store my items behind the till whilst I nipped elsewhere for further shoppings), were extremely friendly, helpful and patient. All in all, I'm definitely a fan! As for what they stock? I'm sure you know the deal. Pretty much everything you need with regard to camping, active life, sports and so on. They appear to have semi regular sales on stock, so do pop in if you're in the business of festival-ing, climbing, camping and the rest!

It would be great to see this model followed at other stores as and when they get a much-needed refurb in the near future. There are still the annoying stands in the middle of aisles blocking a clear passage through the store, this is one of my biggest frustrations. You have a big enough store, there is no need to cram everything in! The staff seem friendly enough and there is a good selection of sportswear and trainers. There is also a USC area at the back of the store, which is a more premium brand from Sports Direct. 4*

Tog 24 sellings much the same stuff as Mountain Warehouse (see my other review) except in a much…read moresmaller and crammed shop. The staff are fairly good with product and the prices are about as expected but the shop is just too small to be able to get much in. It also makes maneuvering around the shop difficult. Of the two personally I would goto Mountain Warehouse but as always its worth checking the prices in both to find a bargain!
