I know why Westmoreland country club only has 400 members and Greensburg has 1200 members. The prices are absolutely ridiculous. Basically you pay $20,000 a year for you and your family. And the place looks like it came straight out of the 60s. it smells absolutely horrible in there. As soon as you walk in, you get a punch to the face of mothballs and embalming fluid. I don't know why. I won't lie. The woman who toward us was super nice. And the manager who was a real nice guy, he gave us coffee and tea. But some of the things I didn't agree with. And some of the things that I didn't agree with was if I wanna go golfing, I'm free and I get a cart for free but if I wanna bring my brother who wouldn't be part of my membership, he's $325 to play and he has to pay an additional $35 just a ride in the golf cart. That is absolutely stupid. I've been a member at country club before. And a lot of them do not do that. They say they have a restaurant but it's not even open yet. And they're closed two months out of the year. Every country club that I've ever been a member at they're open all 12 months. They'll just have one day a week that they're closed. But you can still golf on that day. I do not recommend this place. This place needs to be tore down and start all over again. They need to modernize and they need to get rid of that funky smell. Most of the people that go to Westmoreland country club are 50 years or older. Greensburg country club they said most of their members are between the ages of 21 and 40. They do have some that are older and they also have a younger group of kids that are legacies off of their parents, but also are really in the golf. And when you want to golf with a family member not in your package it's $40 and the cart comes with it for free. That's more reasonable. Their pub looks so much better than Westmoreland and their dining room is beautiful.

Swing City is a swing dancing club that goes on every Saturday night in Squirrel Hill and has been…read morefor many years. Its in a school/community center, on the top floor in the gymnasium and generally has DJ'd nights, occasionally live bands. Open to all ages with a cover charge at the door, cash only. There are water fountains and usually a snack table for a small extra fee. The crowd can be very diverse in ages, from young high school students to elderly adults well into their 70s and the amount of people can be really hit or miss. If you are looking for nights where you have more advanced dancers and a bigger crowd, make sure to go on nights where there is a live band playing or when there is a workshop during the weekend in town. For the most part, you will see east coast swing dancers, the occasional lindy hopper and the even more rare advanced dancers. There is a beginner lesson for an hour before the dance starts and you do not need a partner to go to the lesson or the dance, although it can be more fun if you bring someone you already know. The dress code is very casual. There is a small private lot, but otherwise, it is street parking only in a residential area, so it can be difficult to find parking if you show up past 10pm. Regardless, you'll find a mix of beginners to very advanced dancers and everyone is encouraged to dance with all. If you're looking for something unique, try Vintage Night (the first Saturday of the month) and dress in your zoot suites and twirly skirts. Otherwise, the dress code is very casual but be sure to wear comfortable shoes that can slide easily on the dance floor. There is a cover charge, cash only. Snacks can be purchased with a small donation. Parking is limited on the residential street, but usually still available if you arrive for the lesson. Those who are lucky enough to celebrate their birthday at Swing City will have their own special dance and be whisked around the floor by some of the top dancers in the city. My only other explanation could be she grabbed red dye box#24 not 7 and didn't notice until time time. Btw this is the Fire locked sexpot at the moose....with the tattoos....and sometimes black rimmed glasses....not the one with the same description at Toms, The Point, Smokey Bones, Sharkys, Headkeeper, and 20 bars in the south side. What I can tell you about is the upstairs hall that you can rent for use of a gathering of any sort. It is a fairly large area that can comfortably fit many people. Pricing isn't very bad when it comes to renting the space. Tables, chairs, and the essentials are included in the rental. You will also have use of the small kitchen area and bar area. I'm not sure if the pricing changes if you want to include alcohol in your gathering, but they do have the capability to accommodate. Once you are done with the space, it is your duty to clean up after yourself. Which some people seem to forget. With that, if you do rent this space for a gathering, make sure that you show up earlier than you need to in order to make sure that everything is in working order.
