He successfully defend an ex parte order filed against me during the holidays, and that saved my Christmas with my son. Over the years, I've witnessed a lot of other custody hearings before mine was heard. I've seen enough of those hearings to decipher the good from bad lawyers and Matt is the best I've seen in action thus far. I have never seen an attorney as tenacious and passionate in defending others as he is. Never having been in this situation I took her advise. I met with her for approximately 20 minutes and then found out from another attorney and the Magistrate that I did not need an attorney for this case. When I told her the next day that I did not need her to represent us in this case and that my elderly mother could not afford this money if it could be handled by the court judge. I asked for my money to be refunded.She never responded to multiple phone calls and messages left. 3 weeks later I received an invoice for over $950.00 for 4 phone calls of which I only spoke with her 1 time on the phone for 3 minutes and I have phone records as proof of this. In addition she charged me $375.00 for an hour consultation which was only 20 minutes. On the invoice the dates of service and phones calls did not reflect the correct dates of phone calls or the 20 minute consultation.

Her lack of confidence alone is enough reason to not have her represent you in important court cases. She cowers to other attorneys and stumbles across her words. Alex Gillie does not have the best interest of her clients in mind because she is not confident enough to stand up to opposing attorneys and fight for what is right. Each time she appeared in court, she looked sloppy and unprofessional in her attire and grooming. Everyone has to start somewhere, but Alex Gillie is in the wrong field. She showed up multiple times to scheduled court hearings completely unprepared to represent her client, leaving us feeling helpless. It was so bad, that she flat out said she was not prepared and my husband was left with no option but to represent himself on TWO separate occasions. Please do not put yourself through the mistake of hiring Alex Gillie. She is the opposite of who a person would need going to battle for something as important as child custody. I feel sorry for anyone who has made the mistake of hiring this unprofessional and inexperienced individual.
