Itsu is amazing. It's a sushi chain that offers DELICIOUS HEALTHY AND AMAZING FOOD. Seriously, I don't know what more to say. I love Itsu with all my heart and I would seriously consider eating here for lunch every single day. They have delicious, vegetarian hot pot options, and they've got cold salad options with rice and they've got sushi and I just love it. The nutrition facts are clearly listed on the shelves that hold the meals, and the staff is usually friendly. i love itsu, i do, i do. My favorite- teriyaki salmon on a bed of rice, or their vegetarian hot pots.

So, firstly Itsu is a chain. We don't have one in the Midlands, so when my colleagues suggested we pop in for lunch I was pretty stoked to give it a go. The design is perky, clean and less... I don't know quite how to say this... Tacky (?!) than Yo! Sushi. It feels a little more upmarket. We went in on a Wednesday lunchtime at about 12:30 and I was surprised to see how quickly we got served and seated (for a traditionally busy period on Baker Street). We got some of the last remaining seats and sat down to try our purchases. Firstly, 3 Bento box style lunches and a Miso soup came to less than £28. Not bad for Central London! I had gone for a selection of Tuna and Salmon Sashimi with Edame beans, served on a fresh seaweed salad. It was faultless. It all tasted fresh and delicious, and the Tuna Sashimi was some of the nicest I have had! The restaurant (despite being a fast food joint) was neat, clean and tidy and the staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Itsu is just a chain, but worth a go if you've never tried it before!

There was a line of people outside waiting. That's how you know it's going to be good! After I got on the line the host (who was a lovely gentleman!) stated it would be about a 15 minute wait, but there was ample seating available outside. I decided to sit outside. After a quick overview of the menu I went with avocado toast with bacon and hashbrowns. I also had a coffee. Everything was delicious and service was great!

People kept walking by without acknowledging us, which was a little frustrating. The coffee was amazing though. We ordered a cortado and it was perfect. I got the All American breakfast and the portion was huge. I enjoyed everything, even though they don't make over-medium eggs, which was a little funny to me. My mom ordered the avo, egg, and cheese sandwich and didn't realize it was spicy, so she didn't enjoy it much. Just something to be aware of if you're not into spice. The vibe inside was really nice and cozy, and our waiter, once we were finally seated, was very sweet and friendly. Overall, I would return, especially for the coffee and the portions.

The space is small and it's really filled up with tables to a point where waiters have to navigate gingerly but it IS London and space is $$$$ but they could easily offset it with great food but alas, that wasn't the case. Perhaps, an unsuspecting non Russian tourist might enjoy the experience, but as a native, if I had to use one polite word and not a lot of Russian expletives - dreadful would be it. If you own this place or work there you will know that all pickles came from a jar. You'd know that pastries were not made by you and weren't made today but you don't charge yesterday's prices. Even the bread was ehh. Not going to list the dishes but they all were not that tasty and possibly not made by a Russian cook. Notice, I didn't even use the word "chef" which is what this type of restaurant ought to have. A MAJOR disappointment and an expensive one at that. Don't do this. If you happen to travel to LA, I will make Russian food for you or at least tell you where to go
