So much sushi for two people
    Bruce C.

A friend invited me here today for a business meeting. He told me before hand that the food is great. And he was absolutely right. I ordered the deluxe Chirashi, which was one of the best I've ever had. My only complain was the tables were so close together. I know they were trying to make the best of the little space available. But for the price I paid for the food, £22 for a deluxe Chirashi. I expect to be seated comfortably and I was not comfortable here.

I came here with family and friends for an impromptu dinner. I was brought up with Japanese cuisine since a very young age so I'd like to say I know this cuisine quite well. We ordered the 15 pc 5 different kinds assorted sashimi set which was absolutely delicious. We then also ordered the tempura udon, squid leg tempura, cold soba and eel avo roll. The tempura udon tasted cheap and instant where the tempura batter was soggy and not very crunchy. I recommend this place if you're just going for sushi and sashimi but not for any hot food.

Review Highlights - Sushi Bar Atari-Ya

It's lovely and light inside, the staff are friendly, and I could eat Atari-Ya's special rolls for days.

Visited this joint before the Covid crisis…read more I was a study abroad student from California in desperate need for some sushi. This was the perfect little shop to get some decently-priced & not terrible quality takeaway. It satisfied the craving, therefore this place is worthy of four stars, relative to the type of store this is (takeaway, quick). The menu was extensive, and the service was quick to assemble my role for a quick lunch on the lawn in front of the area. There was a good variety of sushi available, as well as different bowls and noodles. Definitely will come back if I ever need a quick craving satisfied. The atmosphere and interior of the store is not extravagant, but it gets the job done as a sushi takeout spot. There is obviously much higher quality sushi available at Nobu and other Japanese sushi restaurants, however this one is a quaint & cozy place to pick up your food in a flash!

Super fresh fish, and I'm sure some of the better sushi at reasonable prices in London. Don't let…read morelooks deceive you - what looks like a slightly run-down hole in the wall place actually has huge slabs of fish that look (and taste) really fresh. The prices are a little bit pricey for lunch (I think they just raised their prices), but for the quality, it's worth paying a little more. You can order sashimi or nigiri a la carte and they have a pretty wide selection of fish (maybe 12-15 choices), you can get a chirashi bowl, or sushi rolls. The nigiri usually runs about £2-3 per piece, and the sashimi is about £3-4 for 2 pieces, so it's not necessarily a cheap meal if you end up getting 6-8 pieces of nigiri or sashimi. I ended up getting a salmon and avocado sushi roll and the pieces that were cut from the roll were pretty generous in size. The rolls were tasty, but they do have a little bit of mayo inside, which was a little strange -- the salmon inside the rolls weren't huge pieces either. Either way, it was still good and relatively filling. The 2 pieces of of tuna nigiri and the yellowtail nigiri were great, especially the yellowtail because it seemed really fresh. I'd definitely come back here again and get a sashimi platter or the deluxe chirashi bowl; the smaller chirashi bowl mainly had crab and shrimp which didn't seem like it would be as fresh as the fish. I saw them cutting huge slabs of fish that looked really fresh, so I'd stick to that. You can dine in or get your food to take away - the inside isn't super renovated with the linoleum floors and metal tables, and the plastic trays for sushi that make it look like it came from the supermarket. However, just ignore all of that and go for the fish. I probably wouldn't come here on a business lunch if you were trying to wine and dine a client, but it's a great place for a casual lunch or to get something to go. Expect to spend about £12-20 for lunch. I'll definitely be back - it's in a convenient location right off of Bond Station.
