After a few follow-up visits, including one shot in the dark effort that made things worse, they eventually decided they had never encountered my issue before and didn't know how to fix it (this after they already had the money from their initial "fix"). Jeff Beck, our estimator, was very professional and thorough in going through what the product does and the installation process. All-Star Basements crew was out in 48 hours after that despite the cold weather conditions and installed the unit and had lined up the electrician as well to hook it up to our breaker box. However the installation…read morepermanently damaged my new carpet ( green glue residue remains in several spots: I've been unable to remove it despite multiple efforts). The installers didn't lay any protectors down on flooring, or any where did that matter. They needed to install pipes thru my sewing room and several other rooms: they did nothing to protect existing surfaces, nor did they bother to tell me (I was working in my home office during install, it would have been easy for me to come down and cover my stuff). I spent much more time after they left, cleaning after them , than I'd have spent covering my things in advance. Almost all contractors I've worked with address protecting existing surfaces in advance of job, so I didn't think I needed to ask about it.
