If Youre Looking for Support and Respect Stay Away from IVF FLORIDA I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding the unprofessional conduct and lack of patient-centered care I experienced at IVF FLORIDA's Coral Gables location, specifically involving a staff member named Heather and the general front office team. I had scheduled a consultation for egg freezing over three weeks in advance. As you are aware, this is not a casual or minor medical matter -- it is a deeply significant and time-sensitive decision for many women, including myself. Initially, the staff were courteous and helpful when assisting me with the appointment. However, once a minor error occurred with the referral from my primary care physician, the tone and behavior from the staff shifted drastically. Despite explaining my limited availability (only four days off in a month), the staff refused to work with me to accommodate any midday or afternoon appointments -- options they initially seemed open to. I was repeatedly told "no" without any attempt at a solution. I was even pressured to travel to another, less convenient location (Pembroke Pines), despite clearly scheduling my care at Coral Gables. The dismissive tone and lack of effort to find a compassionate resolution were both upsetting and unacceptable. After weeks of coordinating with my primary doctor to meet their requirements, I was ultimately told they couldn't help me simply because my availability did not align with their rigid scheduling. I was not offered a waitlist option or any flexibility. The interaction made me feel as though I was being punished for something outside of my control -- despite being an informed, cooperative patient. The lack of empathy, flexibility, and professionalism shown by this office reflects poorly on the clinic's values. I am deeply disappointed that I lost time, energy, and emotional peace only to be met with complete disregard for my medical needs and personal circumstances. I am submitting this complaint not only to express my personal experience, but to also protect other women who may be considering this practice for something as important and emotional as fertility preservation. I was a patient for one year and during that time knew that this practice was terrible but it wasn't until I sought care somewhere else I realized just how bad IVF Florida truly is. Several missed diagnosis for both myself and my husband. I was treated as if I was a number and the treatment felt as a copy and paste, if it worked for them it should work for you. I would leave crying most appointments because of the lack of empathy and compassion from the staff. Walking into my first IUI, I wasn't informed how many follicle(s) I had. It was not from a lack of effort on my part of asking. I was constantly told to check the portal for more information or someone will call you. I was made to feel like a burden for asking questions regarding what was happening in my own body and for asking for help in a process that was foreign to me. My doctor never saw me after two failed treatments and the answer to what's next was to keep repeating what hadn't already worked twice. In a year, I saw the doctor 4x and 2 of those were 10 minute virtual appointments to which I was belittled and told my infertility was because I had caught Covid which was my fault for not being vaccinated. If you are seeking fertility treatment, you already know it's a difficult journey, don't make it any more difficult on yourself and steer clear of this practice. They should be ashamed of how they treat people undergoing such a difficult and sensitive process. read more

Run, don't walk, from this place. went twice and they never sent outside monitoring results to my clinic although they swear they do same-day. my doctor had to adjust my dosage twice based on their lack of communication. was also hung up on by one of their after-hours folks. the staff is super nice but none of that matters if you can't get your results on time. read more

God-awful. I called the billing department tons times to have them verify my insurance. After about a month, they decide to call me back and tell me that yes, my insurance will cover their service. After my first VIRTUAL appointment that was less than 15 minutes- I receive a $600. The billing department refused to give me any assistance with the appointment. And the billing representative admitted to me that they lied to me when they told me they verified my insurance. What a stab in the heart after all the things I have gone through emotionally. We started with IVF in 2018. Spent between $15000 and $20,000 with no pregnancy. They had our credit card on file fir the bills. We checked at the cashier prior to leaving to be sure that everything was paid. After 12 months and no results we went elsewhere. Didn't hear anything from them for about 18 months and then a collection notice showed up on my credit report for unpaid bill. $90. Right. We paid them thousands for no results and two years later they claimed we owed them $90 and submitted it for collection without calling us. We called three months ago and spoke to someone who said she would remove it. Didn't know she had lied till it showed up on my credit report again. Bad results. Dishonest. Petty. My journey started trying to do an IUI. I've had 5 full-term pregnancies, and my cycle was just thrown off. I just needed a simple fix ... After they have you come in before your cycle starts and then after it starts... then cancel your next appointment and then you have to wait for another -to come in before and after -- to have you come back in, and back in, and back in for all these tests.....all different locations... Each time billing my insurance and me paying a $150 co-payment. Every test was spread out so it would include another "office visit billing"under the insurance..... I paid each of my co-payments in the office. Yet, still received Past Due bills for my co-payments. After they ran me through the cycle of completely UN-needed and unnecessarily ordered tests... The first office visit they had as a FULL complex visit and bill my insurance at the highest trier ---ALL THE DOCTOR did was a rectal and a breast exam WITH NO GLOVES...After all this is done, and they can't bill anything else to my insurance --- I would become a SELF-PAY.... They call and tell me they don't have any appointments for 2 or 2 and half months! I asked to switch to a different office. You can never call and speak to anyone. There are 3 woman who guard the phones for all locations. They are RUDE ASS HELL and completely non compassionate about this whole process... You can never speak to a nurse or a front desk woman. When I kept calling asking to be switched to a different office. I was hung up on. The office staff in Margate is RUDE. Not personally at all.. I went into the Pembroke Pines office and everyone there was SO nice. Told me I can switch - and they had an appointment THAT Monday! Well ... GUESS Who called Friday and told me I wasn't welcome at ANY OF THEIR clinics anymore? I asked for my medical records ...and I was sent 3 other patient's PERSONAL medical records with addresses, phone numbers and insurance information - and complete records of semen analysis, tests results and blood work with PERSONAL INFORMATION - MIXED IN WITH MY RECORDS!!!! HUGE HIPAA VIOLATION ! This place just wants to get as much money out of you as possible and bill your insurance dry. I went and Saw Dr.Woods at IVFMD THAT week. This place is the worst. I am a patient at this moment with this company and this facility. The Doctors have no idea how badly their practice is being ran by their front desk personnel. This company never ever everrr answers their phones other than only: Option 1 to make an appointment, for that trust me someone will always answer. You will never be able to reach a medical assistant, or anyone from the lab, or anyone at check-in or check-out. "Your call will be returned" in 24hrs if you call after 4pm it says or and if before 4pm the call will be returned the same-day they say. That is a lie! The Doctor is very nice once you are in a consultation with them but all the process before him is not worth it. If you want assistance the same day you call or need anything, this is NOT the office for you or me. I am over this office and a very dissatisfied patient unfortunately. This place was like a mass production line. The girls at front desk on 3rd floor are unprofessional, unsympathetic and insensitive to patients' very sensitive situation. If you don't like your job go find something else. The Older lady at front desk of operating room is great! Very peppy and likeable. Great face to see when you first walk in.... However once inside the bed waiting area, very non private for retrieval and transfers. You can hear everyone's conversations. Yes, we are all going through the same thing but that's not cool for people who are doing this for the first time and under lot of stress. Overall not happy with constantly seeing different doctors. I started with Christie and was sure he would be doing the retrieval and transfer and the day of retrieval I had Dr. Weis. She was very nice but I've never even seen her let alone met her. Day of transfer I had Dr Maxson. Again, this is not comfortable for most people. You get comfortable with one doc and want them to do the whole process. I don't like the feeling of being a dollar sign, just getting pushed through a production line. I like the way things were done in the Miami lakes office when Dr Cabrera and Dr graubert were there. Things were far more personal. The team I worked with for my first IVF was amazing! Very supportive and attentive to my emotions and needs. Beyond the annoyance of horrible communication, billing errors and unsympathetic staff, this place will drain you purposely of your money. It is a factory line where they attempt to take you through as many procedures as possible. I had the opportunity to see another Dr. and was well informed and then sat down with the Dr. I entrusted and was horribly shocked to hear him try to scam me and drag me through many heart wrenching expensive procedures when the solution could be simpler. I normally do not write reviews but Margate office staff customer service is terrible. They way they speak to you and the communication over the phone is not friendly at all. I've had issues with them multiple times - prescriptions said that they have been filled and have not (I've called the retailer multiple times to confirm) and they have also rushed me off the phone. I started my infertility experience at Boca Fertility because I had heard such horrible things about IVF Florida. They treat you like a number, they are a machine, just push you through. Well, let me tell you, all the bad I heard about IVF Florida is what should have been send about Boca Fertility. My husband and I recently switched over to IVF Florida from Boca Fertility because Boca Fertility was such a terrible place. I have had nothing but a GREAT experience with IVF Florida - Margate. Dr. Maxson sits down and explains every detail to us and every option. We never feel rushed and he has had multiple hour plus appointments with us discussing everything with us to make us feel comfortable. They have been honest with us about the fees and treated us like family. Do you wait for appointments, yes. But you wait for appointments at any doctors office. Is it expensive, yes! But infertility is expensive no matter where you go, it's an unlucky hand to be dealt, but that's the choice you make to start a family. And, IVF has partnered with multiple financing companies to provide you with options to make the process less financially stressful for you. I hope this review helps others take the step with IVF Florida - Margate. Most people don't offer reviews to this topic because it is a sensitive topic, but I want others to know the experience can be good. I like this place a lot. Staff is friendly and very compassionate. They went over all my insurance coverage with me. During my first visit doctor Marcelo took the time to analyse my past history and explain me things that I never heard from other doctors. It was devastating to hear the true, but the doctor always kept me up demonstrating that was not the end. I went through a lot of tests and nurse/doctors are always very, very nice and patient to explain my questions. Now I will be going to a surgery and then my first IVF cycle soon. Doctor Maxson and Justine's team were amazing! The level of care I received was wonderful and very hands on. I highly recommend Dr. Maxson as he was correct in his assessment that it was not necessary for me to take any hormones. He is extremely knowledgeable and you can tell he loves what he does. I probably would not recommend this place. I have seen Dr. Steven Ory three times. This is my experience and thoughts: 1. Pricy- each appt runs about $270 . Dr. rushes through appt. i would say i see the Dr for 15-20 minutes. I only give it two stars because the Dr is knowledgable. 2. Customer service: this is very bad. There are about 4-5 girls at the front desk. They all have attitudes and treat you like you're a nobody. The customer service here can be compared to dealing with the DMV clerks. I had to wait for almost 2 frickin hours for my appointment as they claimed they had a leak in their appointment room, hellooo there were many rooms that can be used at that time..And if you call them to leave a message either to the CS or Nurse, they rarely call you back or even have a professional decency to at least leave a message to your voicemail. Waittt...not only that, the nurses are rude, one time I came for my appointment to hear about my result with doctor as I did the physical examination a week before and one of the nurse just dragged me to the exam room, she stubbornly said that i was supposed to be examined that day, i argued a bit...and then another nurse corrected her mistake that my appointment was just to see the doctor... i mean in a world of PROFESIONALISM, don't they update the news of what has been going on with the patient!!!... and one more thing, one time I came to see the doctor to hear about my result and guess what...they doctor didnt get any result from his own nurse, while they nurse had the result already and they all work in one same frickin floor. There is lack of communication between the Front Dest/ CS/Admin and the nurse department... their work is all over the place... My husband's cousin and I finally decided to walk out from that place and WILL NEVER RECOMMEND this place to anyone. My fiance and I started going to IVF Florida Margate office after my OB-GYN referred me to a reproductive endocrinologist. I dealt with IVF Florida for a few years ending in 2006 when I was donating my eggs to infertile couples. Right from the start of the process things were crazy from setting up appointments to alot of billing issues. When we went to the initial consultation with Dr Hoffman, we went over all our medical history and right from the start he started lecturing my fiance about taking steriods (which he already knew could be a problem) He went over all the test and everything he wanted us to do, we were fine with that. We were asking about our options and different things we could do and he said lets get all these tests done and see what everything comes back and then we will discuss the options. We were not happy about this but we figured we knew what he was doing so we did. Wrong move. My prolactin levels were a little elevated. Normal is between 4-23 mine was 29. He orderded a MRI of my pitutary gland to see if I had a tumor. This came back negative. He put me on medication Dositnex I had to take 1 pill twice a week. After taking the 4th pill I felt so bad. I was dizzy and nauseous all the time, I had no energy for anything. I dealt with these side effects for almost 3 weeks. There were even days I thought about not taking the medication anymore due to the crazy side effects of the meds. He wanted to do a semen analysis on my fiance along with blood work since he takes steroids. He insisted that he get off the steroids so that we can see what the blood levels were. He did the semen test and we even had major issues with that cause we did the off site collection. We went to take the sample up and my fiance did not have his ID on him (even though they took copies of both of our at our first appt) they refused to take the sample. After getting really frustrated from not being able to have sex for 4 days to provide a healthy sample, we went downstairs and I ended up going back up talking to the manager and after about 10 mins of trying to get her to understand all the things that were already going on she said she would take the sample. The results came back and he had 1 million sperm. We were excited to hear this news. After this he had followed what Dr Hoffman said about getting off steroids and he took all the medications then he did the bloodwork. After doing all this when the blood work came back his levels still were not where they should have been. I had all my blood work done and at our follow up appt Dr Hoffman tells me that one of my STD tes came back positive and that the nurse called and told me this. I told him I never got a call from anyone about any results. He then made itlike it was n big deal but of course we were bot freaking out as neither of us have ever had one. He tested me again and the test came back negative. Not happy about thinking I had an STD and being told like that. He had already started taken steroids again due to the fact that he had no sex drive and was very depressed due to his testosterone being so low. How are you supposed to have a baby with no sex drive. This was not a fun time for either of us. Every time we went for another appt or test or follow up he would always lecture him about taking steriods. He told us our only option was to do IVF which was starting at $24,000 - $36,000. We decided to go see another Dr to get a second opinion. The first appt we had with him was totally different, he gave us all our options up front. After the Dr looked over all the records from IVF of Fla he asked why I as on the medication, he said does not do anything with prolactin until its over atleast 50. He wanted to do a semen analysis and he explained that if he found sperm he would freeze it so we were able to use when we were ready which is what IVF of Fla should have done or told us. The semen analysis came back and all that was there were 3 DEAD sperm. Due to the fact of him getting off steroids and getting back on it completely shut down his pituitary gland. We waited a few weeks and did another semen test and this time there nothing at all. He now has no sperm and we had to look at all of our options. We have to use a sperm donor. If Dr Hoffman at IVF of Fla would have given us options from the start we could have froze some of the sperm from the 1 million he had. All I can say is when I was making them money by donating my eggs I was treated better then I was when I want back trying to have my own baby. read more

Zero would be my rate for this institution. I had a procedure which was supposed to be covered by my insurance on February 2015. Their billing department called me at the end of September stating that I owed them $574 (9 months later). As I explained the procedure was supposed to be covered so I contacted my insurance which informed me that they tried to get in contact with them for the last nine months and it was impossible. We have tried every way to solve this and nothing has worked. If you are lucky to get and answer they will hang up the phone . It is already January 2016 and I am receiving a collection notice. My recommendation is to avoid places like that. If we find those types of situations imagine what can happen with the doctors. read more

They were great. Staff was very helpful figuring out my insurance. I was randomly introduced to Dr Hoffman. He is amazing. He quickly figured out my problem, I did not in fact need IVF. I had polyps that were causing me infertility. Dr Hoffman removed them thru surgery and I was able to become pregent naturally. All staff from Margate and Wellington has been amazing through this process. I did not care for the staff at Jupiter office. They are not bad just not as personable. After years of not being able to get pregnant naturally, I finally decided to visit IVF Florida in Margate. Dr. Hoffman came recommended to me by a friend that was also seeing him around the same time. The office staff was always very friendly and very compassionate during a very stressful and sometimes awkward time in my life. As a woman with PCOS, I have always been told to "just lose weight" or "it'll happen when it's meant to happen"...you name it, I've heard it! I went in not really knowing what to expect, but Dr. Hoffman was amazing and his nurse at the time, Erica was also very good. Financials were discussed in the very beginning, so there were no surprises and whatever could be processed through my insurance, was. By the time I finally got pregnant, I was wishing that Dr. Hoffman delivered babies! Highly recommended and definitely return when/if needed! read more

I have been a patient at IVF Pembroke Pines for over 3 months now and aside from Dr. Daniel Christie being a very good physician and knowledgeable the rest of the staff is sub-par. I never call the office to get someone that is willing to do their job or know how to do their job. The scheduling/receptionist are horrible. Lisa has an attitude all the time or at least every time I call and get her. You call the centralized billing department and no one knows how to answer WHY no claims have been submitted to your insurance company since February, not to mention my deductible/coin amt was noted wrong during the insurance verification and I cant seem to get them to fix it. It leaves me in a very uncomfortable spot when you like your physician but dislike everything else about the practice he works for. This is a very sensitive time in a couples life not to mention the dollar amounts being spent on each visit. I can probably write more because this has been a less than pleasant staff experience. Management needs to consider revamping this place because no patient spending the kind of money being spent should deal with such incompetence. read more

I guess my experience was completely different from everyone else here. I NEVER had an issue getting an appointment. Whenever I spoke to a nurse (although often times a different one from the last time) they were fully aware of my case and what I needed. I got excellent assistance from billing and finance when dealing with my account and insurance and everyone I dealt with was really positive. The only negative comment I have is that I have only seen my doctor twice. However, the nurse practitioners I have dealt with have been very capable and made me feel comfortable. Obviously anyone having to see someone for ART is going to be on edge and I am going to assume that is the basis for all the negative comments but I find the facility to be pretty efficient. I just wish my particular doctor was more involved with my treatment plan. read more

I feel legitimately lucky to be one of Dr. Ory's patients. He is extremely compassionate and thorough not to mention a highly accomplished medical professional. The entire office is perfectly organized, every moment is planned and scheduled. The costs are discussed and reviewed beforehand and they even have financial counselors available if you are feeling extra anxious or need some additional help which removes 90% of the stress involved in seeing a fertility specialist when both health & financial concerns are on your mind. Thanks to the incredible group here, my husband and I can focus on treatment instead of hidden costs and tight timelines. I have never been treated in a more considerate manner at any doctor office ever before and I can't thank each person enough from the receptionist to the wonderful nursing team for their real smiles, patience, and overall kind and gentle manner during our visits. I have to say I'm extremely surprised at all the bad reviews. I have been coming here since 2015 when we conceived my daughter via IUI and we had a wonderful experience. The doctors are very knowledgeable (we dealt mostly with Dr. Maxson but saw others as well in between) and the staff was friendly and helpful. Do not go here! After going through painful procedures, the doctors office will not release the results of the exam to me and will not send them to the prescribing Dr. They claim that according to Hippa law, only the prescribing Dr can get the results. But after a month and weekly calls, they still have not sent the results to the prescribing Dr nor will they give them directly to me. Even when showing up at their office to get the results in person, they refuse. So I repeat, NEVER GO HERE!!!!! I plan on filing with the BBB and with my insurance regarding their practice. read more

IVF FLORIDA MARGATE When you first come in your are scheduled with a doctor who goes over the process and diagnostic factors to get you the results you are hoping for. My doctor was Dr. Maxon, after already spending $1000's of dollars, I honestly, after 8 months of treatment we seen this man only twice. Everytime I wrote a check Dr. Maxon was on a plane! Everytime I requested to talk to Dr. Maxon I was told he was on vacation! Dr. Maxon was on vacation for 6 months straight according to his staff! We were very disappointed! Patients are tossed around like hot potatoes, you never have the same nurse you pretty much is a CHART! The nurses is very inconsistant and appears to run this treatment center. Finally after 7 months and $14,000, They showed me and my husband the eggs that they were implanting which had lots of fragments and we were worried that this would not work. Although we had been told fragments are not a good sign and the process should be repeated if this is present, the attending nurse assured us this is perfectly fine and normal. My gut feeling told me this is not right. They implanted 2 eggs out of 11. After all was done, by a doctor (Dr. Ory) whom I never met before, implanted the eggs. I started to cry because it felt like a meat shop! The nurse gave me instructions to come back in two weeks and sent us home with no call, no follow-up from doctors, no "how is it going", NO NOTHING the whole two weeks! This really hurt my husband and I. At this point ,you know that this office, staff, and company is all about the money. In the end I did not get pregnant as my gut feeling told me and my husband. We are to perfectly healthy people, with no real fertility issues and was treated like the next days garbage. Till this day we have not heard from Doctors or any staff members from IVF Florida Margate. Please do not consider this office you are wasting time and money. If you want a staff that is considerate and compassionate with your needs and is with you every step of the way, look elsewhere beacause doing business with IVF Florida Margate is like being thrown to the wolves once they have exhausted all your cash! read more

I have no idea what others are speaking about and why their experiences were no negative. I've been coming to this office since 2014 and my family and I have been treated with nothing less than respect and given great customer service. The only people that are a little rude is the answering service. My dr, is Dr Maxson. He is so sweet, patient, knowledge, personal, I can go on and on. When he comes in the room, it lights up because he's so happy, full of energy and has this huge smile on. The women who take blood and does the ultrasounds are always polite, they make conversation, they don't make you feel weird while you're there. The nurses are kind, and very friendly. I have had Bonnie, Mel, and I think Justine and they are amazing! The front desk staff are great also, they aren't rude at all. I think people are mistaking them being busy for rude. I have nothing but fantastic things to say about this company. read more
