The inside has two main open rooms with tons of repurposed and refinished furniture, pillows, mirrors, candleholders and decorative antiques. It is an eclectic mix of things inside to be sure and nearly everything is painted distressed antique white - the inside is beautiful and the ladies working inside are really friendly. The back room - behind the counter is somewhat seasonal or might be a baby room when they're doing redoing it - I can't remember which of the two it is.... If you're in Smithfield this is worth a stop - it's not original antiques because everything is refinished distressed but they're gorgeous pieces. They also host classes periodically which you can sign up for in-store on making wreaths and decor and all kinds of stuff - from the photos I've seen from previous ones it looks like a lot of fun. Was that too much to ask? Maybe. One of the "budget" stores only had cloth covered. The overstuffed cushions were a sign of ...well... I will let you decide. Nothing felt right. A second store had mostly motorized recliners. One even had a full leather cover. Unfortunately it was double my price range. Then came Brandon house. There was more than one that fit the criteria. I eventually decided on a Parker Gemini. But by now there was no rush. So I went home to compare prices with other Parker dealers, internet and retail. Brandon House tied for the lowest price. I felt like GOLDILOCKS. Just right! The color I wanted was on back order. That is a supply problem corroborated by other stores I called. My chair arrived after 8 months and it was worth the wait. I found several Asian pieces (wood carved, metal cast, crystal and pastel ceramic) that were tempting and priced to sell. Didn't pull the trigger because I needed more time to consider which would be best at home. But, still had a good time searching, and may give them a call about safe packaging for the two I am most attracted by. He talked to us about how Virginia Furniture has been a family-owned business for over 40 years. He gave us enough space to look around but also gave us all the honest info we needed to make a decision. We decided on a sofa, loveseat, chair, and a 3-piece table set for $2300. It was a great deal. Delivery was scheduled for the next weekend, and they also haul our old furniture out. I even had my pick of a free item as a thank you for our purchase. I chose a silicone oven mitt. I will be coming back in the future, next time we need furniture.

There are at least 4 buildings: the main building, the "she shed", another small building, and the big barn down the trail! The barn is full of bigger furniture and architectural items as well as traffic lights and metal sculptures and salvage stuff & fixtures. The smaller buildings have garden items (I found a big terra cotta planter that I purchased) and statues. One outbuilding housed some lovely art deco pieces, vintage hats and purses, wing chairs, perfume bottles, and even an antique typewriter. The cute little she shed had kitchenware, vintage aprons, old utensils, some wooden chairs, a tiny table and a few other cool pieces (I bought a cute white deco bookcase from this area). The main building is full of antique furniture, dining sets, china and crystal, tea things, pictures, lamps, mirrors, rugs, jewelry, and even some homemade crafts. I was in "junking" heaven. From the window displays to the well organized booths, it was a joy to pop by the various vendors and take a gander at all their treasures! We constantly stopped in the aisles and said to each other "Look at this!" Or "Remember these?" So many nostalgic pieces which brought back fond memories! I had a hand held basket which quickly was filled with cool items. I collect topsy-turvy dolls and found one here, swizzle sticks, fabric, figurines and a unique quirky Mad Hatter doll! Whatever you are looking for, you're bound to find here! They carried vintage comic books, glassware, photography equipment, bar ware, toys, jewelry, furniture, textiles, coins, and tons more! This store was clean, the vendors pay attention to detail, and the prices were so reasonable! We checked out easily and the folks there were hospitable, helpful and jovial. We had a blast and I saw several other pieces that I would've love to carry home.
