I am writing to express my concern about my recent experience at the Kaiser Emergency Department…read more The wait times are extremely long, often lasting 4-5 hours before being seen by a provider. What is particularly frustrating is that there are times when the waiting area appears nearly empty or has very few patients, yet patients are still left waiting for several hours without any clear explanation or updates. In addition, I was disappointed with the level of customer service I received. Staff members were not communicative about delays, and it was difficult to get information about the status of my visit. As a patient seeking emergency care, this lack of communication and support added unnecessary stress to an already difficult situation. I understand that emergency departments can be busy and that patient care is prioritized based on medical urgency. However, better communication, transparency about wait times, and improved customer service would greatly improve the patient experience. I would appreciate it if this feedback could be reviewed and addressed to help improve care for patients in the future. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

Throughout the entire process, she made sure to take a few moments to make sure I was okay while she worked steadily and quickly. 5/5 stars for Ms. Joy A. but I wouldn't hesitate to give her more if that was possible. Your automated acknowledgment on February 2, 2026, promised prioritization and forwarding to a case manager for review, investigation, and resolution yet over six weeks later, I have received ZERO updates, no case manager contact, and no resolution. Your inaction is unacceptable, unprofessional, and a blatant violation of Kaiser Permanente's obligations under California law to provide timely grievance responses (within 30 days standard, 72 hours for urgent) and accountable service. This delay demonstrates a lack of meaningful resolution and accountability, exactly as I warned in my original complaint your employee(s) involved deserve immediate investigation and disciplinary action.

So we arrived here around 5 pm, and a security guard brought a wheelchair out to the car and wheeled her into the Emergency Department. That's what I call service! Then we went to check in which took longer than expected as there was a glitch in the system but luckily the waiting room only had about less than 10 people. Finally the glitch was fixed and my sister went in to see the nurse who asked her various questions, then she brought us into a room and the nurses came in to ask her more questions and then we met one of the ER doctors, Dr. Wu and he explained what was going to happen. My sister was going to get a CT scan and xray for her injuries as well as blood work, then they gave her IV of fluids and Tylenol for the pain. A nurse came to pick her up for the CT scan which only took a few minutes, then someone else came and did the xray. The staff was friendly, sympathetic and efficient. We had to wait at least 1 hour for the test results and luckily I brought some snacks as we got hungry waiting. My sister even joked about not having a tv in the room to occupy our time. One nurse mentioned that other ER's do have tv in the emergency rooms for their patients but I guess Kaiser has not upgraded to that. After all is said and done, my sister got release around 8:45 pm as her blood pressure went back to normal and her test results were good after Dr. Wu came into the room to tell us the good news.

Updated on 8/12 & 10/27…read more Official Name: Fresh & Natural Hours: Mon-Fri 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Sat & Sun 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The cafeteria is closed on holidays. My wife and I ate here today for lunch, and I also ate here in 2009 (my wife had minor eye surgery, and they wouldn't let me help, and so I had some time to kill). It's very bright inside (where you pick up your food is dark, though), and you can tell that the cafeteria is new (an oversized article basically greets you when you walk in- a Kaiser Permanente hospital was around since 1995, but the Fremont Medical Center officially opened in 2002). The seating capacity is over 70 inside (the "bar areas" near the entrance seat 14), and over 20 outside (the tables outside have green umbrellas hanging over them). All the tables and chairs are nice, and there are at least 3 garbage bins inside. There are also 4 recycling bins (one of them is For Cans Only, and another is for Glass Bottles Only). Although it's spacious inside, it can be tricky to walk around when the cafeteria is busy. The condiment area is great. You can pick up napkins, salt and pepper packets, and ketchup and mustard. There's also a large salt and pepper shaker set. There's a small ATM on the far right (to the left of it is a vending machine). Note: All prices include tax. There's a decent selection of candy (candy bars are $1.09 each). There are also some pastries and bags of snacks (mainly nuts). There's a small fountain machine, and the coolers feature over 20 drinks to choose from. Cans (ex: Mountain Dew; Cherry Coke): $.98 Glass Bottles (I believe the only selection is Perrier water): $1.36. Bottled Water is also $1.36. 20 oz. Drinks (ex: Dr. Pepper; Fanta Orange): $1.58. Juices (ex: Apple): $1.96. vitaminwater (ex: orange-orange; fruit punch): $2.72 My Dr. Pepper could have been colder (my wife's bottle of Aquafina was fine). Bear Claw ($2.45): 7/10. Long and thick, but just average (my wife would give them a 6). Svenhard's Bear Claws are sold at most grocery stores, and are much better (I'm really referring to the packages of 8 Breakfast Claws). If you don't want a cold item (ex: a sandwich), you can have something from the Grill (there's a Breakfast and a Lunch menu). The cooks are friendly and helpful (I had 2 questions for the guy today- "Why was I born?"; "Why does my friend Cuc Crystal like me?"). I don't know if there are any more trays here (if so, they may only be available during lunch). Our main items were wrapped and placed in white paper bags. Sausage Breakfast Sandwich ($3.21): 9/10. You have your choice of meat. The sandwiches are medium-sized, and my wife was very pleased with hers. 5-Speed Burrito ($5.38): 8.25/10. The burritos are fairly big and juicy. They feature eggs, cheese, hash browns, ham, sausage, and bacon. The burritos are pretty filling, but they could be better. Hash browns dominated mine, and the pieces of bacon were too fatty. I also wish that there was more ham. I'm getting old. These days, I only have 2 speeds, slow and slower. The hot dogs are greasy, but good (they're $3.81, and I give them an 8/10). The same with the bacon cheeseburgers (they're over $5, but are somewhat filling- I also give them an 8/10). The fries here aren't bad, but they're not great either (I give them a 7.5/10). I want to try the Seasoned Curly Fries next time ($2.45- regular fries are closer to $2). The cashiers are friendly and on top of things (I didn't even have to tell the woman that I had a 5-Speed Burrito). They also move people along quickly when there's a line. There's only 1 register, though, and it's not hard for a line to develop. We didn't buy anything, but it was fun walking through the small Farmer's Market afterward (you can buy fruit, vegetables, bread items, plants, pastries, flowers, and hot items like hot dogs and tamales). The Market is around every Thursday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. This is a good cafeteria. Some items are pricey, but it's worth going here overall.

Although I still miss our dr. at PAMF I have admit that so far Kaiser hasn't let me down with their quality of service. My son bumped his head when taking a shower and he had a minor bruise/cut on the back of his head. I called the nurse and she was very helpful on the phone. She said that he is probably fine but she recommended that I should see his pediatrician since it would be also his first time seeing his new dr. It was easy to schedule an appointment for the same day. I called at 10am and I got an appointment for 11:30am. I arrived 15 min. earlier as they told me to. The check in was very easy and the staff at the help desk was very friendly. BUT that's when I deduct a star. I waited an entire hour! I was told that they are waiting for a free room for Dr. Hague (she was recommended to me by other moms). In the room the nurse gave me a heads up that I might wait a little bit because Dr. Hague is very through and takes her time to talk with each patient which I totally appreciate and love about dr. BUT an entire hour! I was thinking if I would have a cranky child who feels really sick that would be very torturing for child and mother to wait in a boring waiting room and dr. office room. The nurse was very helpful as she brought something to color for my son and be entertained while waiting. I have been through couple of pediatrician and I have admit Dr. Hague is very pleasant and great with children and provides you with helpful information. All in all... Happy patient and mommy!

Jennifer also can help assess latch, and many moms book lactation consultant appointments with her to get 1:1 help. It was also really nice meeting new moms who had babies similar in age to mine. I was able to find my mom group through here, and now we meet up to do walks and park hangs. It's really nice that this group is offered to the community and I've found it extremely valuable for my mental health to be connected through this group.
