I found me a new lady's health doctor. Dr. Gabriel is amazing!!
    Ter L.

This is my location for all my girly needs and I cannot thank Dr. Jerome Gabriel & the friendly staff enough always providing THE BEST service!!! My appointments always start off with a friendly smile as I check in with Anthony [tall, Filipino gentleman]. He is always prompt, friendly, and has absolutely amazing taste in music. Emy is normally the next person I encounter and I appreciate her warmth, patience, and welcoming attitude. Emy always takes the time to walk me through whatever our visit will entail and she goes out of her way to schedule my visits in advance due to my conflicting work schedule. Dr. Gabriel eventually makes his way in and I find myself in & out pretty quickly. Never a single complaint since I switched over to having him as my physician and I appreciate his kindness, calmness, and his excellent communication skills for any|all patients. Hands down, 5/5 stars for this department.

Receptionist at Optical Center - hella rude!! Why? No clue what makes people think they can talk to others in such a rude manner!!
    Kim T.

This place is so dead, and the people who work at the Optical Center are flat out rude!! The receptionist to the staff who help clients pick out their glasses!! It's funny b/c their department is the only place with the most visitors and the most in & outs! For a place so dead , you would think they'd value clients!! We are here to purchase eye glasses from them, they are making money off of us... have some respects for your clients.. I hear the visitors talking and it seems like the receptionist is new here.. Gotta have proper training to be good in any role. Especially if you are the face of the department/company.. the first face clients will see and deal with... please learn to have some manners & respect!!

Second visit to Kaiser for OBGYN appointment. After the first visit the other day, I had high hopes to have another good experience. The lady at the registration who checked me in was nice. Since it's my first OBGYN visit, it's free of charge! Didn't expect that. I waited for about 20 minutes after passing my appointment time, the MA finally came to take me to the exam room. The visit with doctor was okay. She chatted a lot, made me feel not so nervous. However, when she was examining my breast, she was quick. Perhaps she's really good at it, but it was too quick to make me feel that she's perfunctory. And, when she was performing a pap smear on me, she was still talking without mask on. I would feel more comfortable if she had a mask on.

    Kaiser inhumane treatment
    Kevin H.

Had to go through 6 people transferring me to get an appointment and then when it's time for my appointment they cancel me. I had just left the emergency room the other day and these inhumane people deny me medical aid for my follow up. I will never have Kaiser again. I hope Karma serves you the same dish. Look at this picture I attached. Very unprofessional and they don't give me a chance to call them back. They called my phone and when I answered they hanged up.

Waiting lounge. Lotsa magazines. No annoying TV being played.

Dr. Khan was my PCP at Kaiser. I was under her care for years, until December 2023. She was always…read morepleasant to talk to and very attentive. However, I do wish my symptoms had been taken more seriously. I brought up my symptoms multiple times, and although tests were ordered, when they came back normal, there was no follow-up. It often felt like, "This test is normal," but there wasn't a next step to address why I was still experiencing symptoms. One of the concerns I mentioned was that my hair was falling out at a high rate. I also had constant bloating. Further testing wasn't pursued--perhaps because I was young and appeared healthy, or because I'm a woman and these changes were considered normal. By the end of 2023, I was tired of feeling sick and decided to change insurance. There were many symptoms, but one in particular became unbearable. I was constantly bloated--my stomach felt very heavy. As soon as I took a bite of food, I felt full. I felt like a pregnant woman days before giving birth. I hadn't yet had the chance to establish care with a new doctor, so as soon as I received my insurance card, I went to urgent care. Based on my symptoms, they ordered bloodwork and a CT scan. The bloodwork came back normal, and I was told I'd be contacted if anything else came up. Not even halfway home, I received a call telling me I had ascites (fluid buildup), which can be a sign of cancer, and that I needed to go to the hospital immediately. I was admitted for a week. They removed 2 1/2 liters of fluid, which explained the bloating. The moment the fluid was removed, I felt instant relief. I later underwent debulking surgery and was diagnosed with stage 3 low-grade serous ovarian cancer (LGSC). I've since gone through two rounds of chemotherapy, with a third possibly coming soon based on my bloodwork. I understand that cancer may not have been preventable, but earlier detection could have made a significant difference. I'm sharing this to raise awareness: when patients say they feel sick, we do. At one point, I started to believe it was all in my head. In a bittersweet way, finding out there was a real cause validated what I had been feeling all along. My symptoms included constant headaches (severe enough to affect my ability to work), fatigue, acid reflux, persistent bloating, hair loss, night sweats, hot flashes, pencil-thin stools, and debilitating cramps--even when I wasn't menstruating.

Your inaction is unacceptable, unprofessional, and a blatant violation of Kaiser Permanente's obligations under California law to provide timely grievance responses (within 30 days standard, 72 hours for urgent) and accountable service. Dr. J Nguyen is friendly, but when it comes to standard of care, she needs improvement. I have had multiple physicals by various physicians (PCPs or from my past work's in-house Physician, or change of providers). With my new insurance, I was assigned Dr. Nguyen. During my physical, she barely assessed me. She placed the stethoscope ontop of my clothing (the MAs did not offer a gown), she did not wash her hands on front of me (or even use the hand sanitizer) she did not properly exam me. I was not asked any of the traditional or standard questions I've been asked by other Physicians. Given that I'm a new patient, I would expect a more through health history assessment or more questions to be asked- they are lacking OR they simply don't care. There is an abundance of plants in the lobby area, some are dying- not well taken care of. The magazines in the waiting area are old and outdated. The fish tank in the lobby area needs to be cleaned. First impression yells out "sloppy and unattended". There are stacks of PAPER chart in the back as they have not gone electronic. By 2018, I believe there is a law to be electronic for medical records, at least that is what is expected in a SNF, acute, and assisted living. Maybe clinics are an exception? Either way, they are clearly behind in their charting and the clinic is in dire need of TLC. The chairs are torn, the floor needs sweeping and so much more. As for the exam room- it feels like a dirty closet. The area to draw your blood is dark, cold, and cluttered. I wish I was assigned another provider so I will be looking to change providers to someone who actually takes the time to get a better health background. Also, the doctor went on vacation so the one in her replacement would not take new patients. Therefore, you would not only have to wait until she returns, but she would be completely booked when she did return. Overall, I've had multiple providers, as my insurance changes, therefore so does my provider. This place would be at last place.

I think there are pros and cons to everywhere so here's what I've found... PROS: Dr. Nguyen will listen, ask questions and gather information to make the best diagnosis (huge pro) and she seems to really care. She also doesn't get upset if you ask a million questions. Some doctors seem to resent questions but she just goes on to explain more. She also will promptly answer questions I've phoned over to ask. Blood draw/Urine Samples can be done on-site instead of having to go to another lab. They have an EKG machine onsite so you don't have to go to another facility. They are very reasonable if you're late. My husband doesn't ever want to go, so we're always late and they've never turned us away Most of the staff is pretty experienced and they all have a good attitude. I have experienced other places where the staff's attitude makes everything more difficult. Also, they can't always answer every question but they don't try to bluff you and they will follow up with the Dr. to get an answer. I've also seen her staff help find a pediatrician for a couple who'd stopped by with a sick baby. CONS: No onsite Xray services (there are some nearby but it's a hassle to go from place to place) You used to have to wait a few days for strep test results but now she has the ones you know the answer in the office. So I guess this is an old con... Sometimes there's a long wait but I've seen Dr. Nguyen see patients not scheduled because the person was displaying some disturbing symptoms while waiting for their parent/sibling in the waiting room but then again, if it were my parent/sibling looking really sick or limping, I would want a Dr. to be concerned if they saw it. Re: other reviews.... Someone mentioned that they didn't have their insurance card and had a problem. The first time I went in, I brought my info on a post it because I had just started a new job and had fallen off a horse and I didn't have any problems, the staff got on it and there wasn't a delay. Also, at Dr. Nguyen's I got no resistance about my phlebotomy/blood draw requests and everything went super smooth on the first try, unlike other places where they wouldn't listen and I ended up with multiple pokes, bruises and wasted vials. I've received results by phone (by the dr. herself and also her assistants) so maybe you have to ask if you can get your test results by phone? My husband needed a follow up for his results but that was probably because he needed follow up care and a re-test of his blood pressure. All in all- I have been to places where I was seen a little more promptly but I really think that Dr. Nguyen's personality makes up for any inconvenience. I think I could bring anyone to her, even if they're normally afraid of doctors. She and at least one of the medical assistants are also fluent in Vietnamese, if you need that.

She tells me maybe I should get another job. Then she messed up my paperwork claim because she closed out the wrong case. This is delaying me from getting the proper care. We come in hurt wishing someone can help us and with Dr Locum it's like fighting tooth and nail. She doesn't even let you speak or explain yourself instead she interrupts like every 30 seconds. I do not recommend for anyone. No one should have to feel victimized for feeling hurt and especially because of their age.
