Zach is very friendly however he only worked on left arm despite my doctors ordering for both for consistency. Left arm got better and intense pain on right that he did not address. JP was also reluctant without new PT script every month and did not work on painful part. In PA you don't need a script anyway but they play this silly games. Unethical read more

I wish I could write this review without crying, but alas the tears are already falling. I'm not sure how you write a proper review for a place that completely changed your life, but I'm going to try my best! My therapist, Val, is a godsend. She is the best at what she does. For both my pre and post surgical rehab, she's been a rock of support - cheering me on and celebrating all the important milestones with me as if they were her own. Little things, like bending your knee or walking up a flight of stairs pain-free, she was right there with me. I couldn't have asked for a better person to be by my side while I got my life back from having a knee cap re-alignment and tibia tuberical osteomomy. Val also knew exactly my game plan for my pre-surgery visits to ensure that I was going into knee surgery as healthy as I could be. I went into knee surgery completely confident knowing my road to recovery would be easy with Val and the whole team by my side. I need to also shout out both office schedulers, as well as all the other PTs. From day one, everyone has been easy to work with and super friendly. When I walk into Excel, I feel like I'm home. I love Val and the entire team at Excel and I'm so incredibly blessed that I found them! I'm now almost 6 months post op and I feel better than I did pre-knee injury. read more

Excel PT in Villanova saved me! The staff, specifically the clinical director, is the most caring, supportive, educated and intelligent therapists I have ever worked with. Over the past 10 years I have seen a number of PTs - and Excel far exceeds any others. Prior to be referred to Excel, I had herniated 3 disks, leaving me in need of back surgery and a loss of feeling and strength in my right leg from the knee down. I went from running and dancing, to barely being able to walk at 1.2 mph on the treadmill. Needless to say, I found myself wondering if I would ever do the things I love most ever again. And, then I walked through Excel's doors and met Val, the clinical director and my PT, and my spirits quickly changed. I knew I was going to get better eventually. From the start, Val had my back, kept me positive and moved me along- with baby steps when needed and jumps when I could handle it. She is empathetic, (beyond) brilliant, engaging, and tough (in a good way). She is my guardian angel. Thankfully, I am back to all of the things that I love. I am even stronger now than I was pre-injury. More importantly, the clinic taught me how to take care of myself and keep my body strong so I am free from pain. I work and live in the area and sing the praises of the clinic (and Val) whenever I hear anyone is hurt and in need of a PT. ;-) Inevitably, someone has been to the clinic and feels the exact same way. I went to Excel PT for a post-op ACL tear recovery. My therapist (Lara) was very knowledgeable and excellent in laying down an efficient plan for my smooth and quick recovery. She has been very caring, continuously monitoring my progress and challenging myself to recover faster but safely. The staff is very friendly, always keeping your spirits up. It is also easy to contact the front desk staff who are very accommodating with any scheduling changes. I wouldn't wish for anyone to injure themselves, but if you do I definitely recommend this place and wish you a speedy recovery. read more

When I asked for an appointment for post surgery, I was assigned a physical therapist assistant. In short he was untrained and inept: he forced me to take off my dressing. Than decided to strap directly over my stitches some dirty device. Then he decided to make me bend my knee as far as I could despite my doctor's orders which were to the contrary. After complaining I got anotherer physical therapist, the assistant manager. At first he was fine for a few sessions. Than I realized that he was not checking my plan which had four phases unless I asked him where I was. He than had to calculate because he did not know how far I was or what I should be doing. Then I entered the phase of no to very little attention. He started to schedule appointments with people who were not patients during my therapy time. Coaching someone took most of one session it went on... On my last session he took most of the time socializing that he did not even see me leave. read more

I am a mid-40s former athlete and have been a regular at Excel in Villanova for five years. Val Brill has changed my life in positive ways and I couldn't recommend her any more highly. Val has worked on my neck, shoulder, back, hips, ankle and elbow. After 30 years of regular pain from a serious car accident as a teenager, I am back to playing soccer regularly and no longer get daily headaches. I am relocating to the Philadelphia area (this review was not posted in error). I called Excel to find out if they accept my insurance, and the woman who answered the phone told me to call my insurance directly myself to get the answer. I called two other physical therapy clinics in the area who were happy to answer my question over the phone. In fact, others post on their web sites the names of insurance companies that they commonly work with. Why is it this difficult to do business with Excel? We can't even get beyond the first basic - but very important - question that I asked. Makes me want to bring my business elsewhere. read more

Following an investigation into her conduct by the Pennsylvania Board of Physical Therapy, Valerie no longer occupies the position of clinic director. But the details of that investigation will never be made available to the public and she remains employed and free to practice, so she may continue to prey on anyone she chooses with little supervision or oversight. I do not presume to direct what other adults should do with their bodies, but I would not advise anyone to allow this woman or her colleagues anywhere near them or their children. If you do so, be vigilant. You must be your own advocate. Monitor their activity closely. Do not take anything they say at face value but verify it for yourself. The first time you catch them in a lie, walk out and don't ever look back. Don't volunteer to be their next victim. Edit to Add: Mr. Ruhl contends that my comments above constitute unsubstantiated innuendo. But the facts as stated above are objectively, provably true. Valerie held the position of clinic director for approximately 10 years. I cannot verify the specific time-frame, but public records reflect she held that title as far back as at least 2010. Within months of the Board of Physical Therapy beginning an investigation into her actions, she ceased to occupy that role. It would be to the organization's credit if they finally recognized the risk this employee posed, and chose to remove her from a position of authority in response to this investigation. However, Mr. Ruhl implies this change was made solely as a result of "what was going on in [her] life." If so, it is unfortunate that this company continues to ignore the threat this employee poses to their patients.Whether or not they read, or believe, or heed any of this, the public has a right to information that may allow them to avoid unnecessary harm by a healthcare provider. I wish that information had been available to me. read more

Years ago, Excel Physical Therapy helped my son recover from an acute injury. We had first visited another physical therapy facility with no improvement. Russ at Excel Physical Therapy worked with him to completely recover and enabled my son to return to his sport. Years later when I needed assistance recovering from an injury, I returned to Excel Physical Therapy. Although I had waited too long to seek treatment and had lost much strength, Alex was able to design a successful recovery program for me. I am finally pain free and have been able to return to all my pre-injury activities. His encouragement was a large part of my success. I highly recommend Excel Physical Therapy. If I ever need physical therapy in the future, I would not go anywhere else. read more

I can't express my gratitude for this office coming to the rescue for me more than once. As a Mom of two younger children, there is no wiggle room for me to be down and out for my family with an injury. Excel Physical Therapy got me in to see a therapist immediately, and consistently worked with me towards my recovery. Not only were they able to get me in to see the therapist several times a week, but an at-home plan was created for me to continue working on my recovery outside of their office. My therapist, Val, is wonderful. She is clearly talented and knowledgeable - her work on my hurt muscle groups felt great. She is considerate, kind, and empathetic. She knew it was hard work, and that I needed to get back to 100% for my family. We created a game plan, and continued to work towards goals each session. The office staff were kind, and flexible. Scheduling was a breeze, and I appreciate the notification and reminder system that I could put into place on my phone's calendar. The office is clean and tidy. All of the other therapists were kind and happy. My injuries were hard work to recover from, but to come in to a happy, clean, friendly office were everyone knew me, and my therapist was genuinely interested in my well-being and recovery, made a bad situation so much better. I can't recommend Excel Physical therapy enough, and if you go - ask for Val - she's the best!! read more
