Yes, it's a small university, and if you're huge into giant sports games or activism, there isn't a lot of that (however, they appear to be expanding on these activities at a rapid pace). However, if you want to get a good education and pay much less, this is a great place to go. At a larger university, you get lost (both literally and figuratively) in the sea of people, and professors don't know who you are. They are often more concerned with their research than their teaching, and it shows. At IU Kokomo, that's not the case -- your professors are available and often eager to meet with you if you need guidance. Some of them have even acted as mentors to me, and I am still in contact with them. Not to mention -- the professors in the science department (among other departments, I'm sure) are such GREAT people. They are very open-minded and tolerant, and they want to see you succeed. They will sometimes even go above and beyond to help you reach your goals. I can't express enough thanks for that. I also worked here for a brief time as an adjunct professor. Again, I was treated with respect and met with enthusiasm. It's a nice feeling to work with such great people.

Staff and students are so kind and welcoming and the learning environment is like none other. I recently had a meal here at the student union at Butler University and the service was terrible…read more I'm not one to complain or be a so called "Karen", but the service was terrible and I can't emphasize that enough. First off, the lady who was running the ice cream/dessert area kept giving people nasty looks and wasn't the nicest. She took away the machine early which didn't allow other people to enjoy ice cream, which probably is one of the best things here since their food isn't all that. Overall the experience at the student union was very unpleasant and I hope to see it improve in the near future as I will be back to see if it has. Thank you for taking time to read this.

We visited the Neil Armstrong statue in front of the physics building. Then we walked around the campus eventually ending up in the student union. The beautiful campus was alive with students walking to class and cherry blossom plants blooming in the spring. In the student union we saw the Edgar Degas statue collection, several art galleries, and the magnificent architecture. If you're looking for a nice place to spend a spring afternoon, Purdue University is a great place to do it.

Taylor University was a life-changing experience!…read moreACADEMICALLY - During the time I attended Taylor (2016-2020), 97% of the faculty held doctorates in their respective field of instruction. I loved class, because I got to engage experts who imparted understanding and wisdom far beyond what I could learn from a standard textbook or online resource. This rivaled the experience of my friends who attended large, public universities where the bachelor programs are often taught by adjunct professors or graduate students. SPIRITUALLY - Taylor is a Christ-centered community that so beautifully holds fast to the truth of scripture without losing sight of the humility and love of Jesus. While no community is perfect, Taylor is marked with deeply committed relationships and campus life that exudes the fruit of the Spirit. One of my favorite memories from Taylor was gathering with my friends in the Prayer Chapel 2-3 times a week for informal worship, prayer, and Bible reading. COMMUNITY - Taylor has a very strong culture of intentional community with many long-standing traditions (some of them decades old). The residence life experience is one of the best for Christian colleges, because they allow freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors (optional) to stay in the same dorm/wing throughout their time. Of course you're welcome not to stay in the same spot each year; however, you will most likely discover the beauty of the "wing life". In a way, they become your "home base" on campus and some of your best friends. POST COLLEGE - Today God has graciously given me a great start to my business career at a national family-owned business with overtones of business as missions (three promotions in 4 years). EXCELLENT GRADUATE NURSING STAFF…read more In 2019, I completed IWU's PMHNP-MSN graduate nursing program and successfully passed the ANCC Board Test. In January 2025, I returned to IWU to study to become an FNP and just finished the first of three required classes and clinical rotations. The Graduate Nursing Staff has been very supportive and available to help guide me in my studies. Dr. Gowan, Dr. Hawkins, Dr. Antworth, and Dr. Huff have been great. My Enrollment Counselor, Alita W., made the enrollment process a breeze. I did not become an RN until I was 57, and a PMHNP when I was 63. I just turned 69 and will hopefully pass the ANCC or AANP Board Testing after I complete the program in December 2025 and go on to continue learning and working to be the best provider I can be.
