I've been here for massages which as always up and beyond. The environment is so relaxing, peaceful. Each massage therapist is respectful, trustworthy, honest and always listens to you for any problems you may have so they can make sure your feeling and leaving better. On the hair side of the salon the student stylist always take very good notes and listen closely to not only the client but instructors. William Collin did an amazing job cutting my hair and I liked how the instructor was there to help when needed. The only complaint I have is my scalp got a little burnt while it was being straightened because I have such thin hair and the temperature was too high but I will go back next time I need my hair done. read more

Both the student and the teacher cut my hair about 2 to 3 inches shorter than I wanted and responded with "it's just hair it'll grow back." Completely didn't care about how I felt and didn't apologize. I get you're learning and that's completely okay but at least be respectful and apologize and talk it out. Me and my son went there and I got eyebrow waxing and the lady took her time and checked with Me several times make sure that's what I wanted an liked. This place does a very good job I went in to get my hair died and styled and it took a couple hours witch is what I kind of figured because I had very light dirty blonde hair and the lady who did my hair was Reagen and she was friendly and patient with how complicated I was. The educator walks around and keeps a good eye just in case but she only had to step in for a small mistake once that was very easily fixed and I didn't even notice and the prices are reasonable in my opinion. Went to get a relaxer put in my hair. & I literally thought I wasn't gonna like it, cause the last time I got a relaxer put in my hair I wasn't happy at all with how it turned out. But I was very impressed & I am very satisfied with how my hair turned out. Even though I was there for 4 or 5 hours but I understand why I was there that long.... They had to detangle my hair & it took them a little bit but the girl that I had was very gentle. She had another girl help her & they were both very gentle she did a very good job. I felt she did a much better job than the other girl that I had that relaxed my hair, the last girl did not do a good job at all because it didn't even look like I even had a relaxer in at all so I was not pleased at all, With how the last girl did my hair. But this girl that I had she did a PHENOMENAL job. She listened to her instructor who was a black woman by the way, so that was good & when she washed my hair it felt good. She did a great job massaging my Scalp she blow dried my hair & trimmed my split ends for me. I expected it to cost a lot of money but I was really surprised that it was way less than I expected.... Overall the total came to be about $50 which is not bad & seems reasonable. I was very happy with how my hair turned out & it actually looks like I got a relaxer in my hair. She processed my hair correctly & I was very impressed & satisfied very satisfied. The girl who did my relaxer her name was Meranda & she was so nice.... I definitely will be returning & hopefully when I do return she's still there so she can do my hair again. She did a WONDERFUL SUPERB job 10 out of 10. read more

I am reviewing Summit based on my experience as a student there. If you are considering attending this academy this will be relevant to you but ESPECIALLY if you are considering ESTY. This was the worst educational/employment experience I have EVER had. I have attended regular college, I have worked full time/worked two jobs before. I do not have any difficulty working hard/functioning in classrooms. I rate this school as one star for the following: MISINFORMATION: This pertains to the meeting I had with the school's admissions office prior to enrolling & information I was given by teachers. The school's graduation rate is SIXTY percent. In a 4 year college that isn't too bad. However, in a school with only ~100 students who MUST complete the entire program and graduate to even use their certificate this is a HUGE red flag. I was told that this was because of COVID and that the school was E-learning the prior "semester". It became clear that their poor graduation rate is due to the way the school operates, how demanding the programs are, & the methods the school uses to PUNISH/SUCK MONEY from their students. To graduate, students must see a certain # of clients. I was told by instructor that this will "not be hard" and that there is NO REASON we should go over our contract date & that students RARELY go over. This was not accurate information. At least FOUR out of the ~11 senior students went over their contract date despite spending 40-50 hours at school quitting their jobs, and inviting/begging anyone they could to come and get services. IF YOU KNOW a LOT of people in the Kokomo area, you may find it easier to get clients. HOWEVER, the services are not cheap, and the amount of services you must give before you graduate is more than a few family friends can reasonably give you. Basically, if you don't have a strong local social media standing BEFORE starting/going on the floor, you will find it difficult to get clients. This isn't the school's fault, but telling students that they SHOULD have a constant flow of clients and shaming them if they do not is unhelpful. UNHELPFUL FIN AID: The fin aid "overview" we were given lasted 10 MINUTES. The fin aid advisor rushed through & basically only explained loans. Everyone was confused. "Communication" w/ the fin aid office = EMAILS that were often left unanswered. Several senior students told me that after being told they DID NOT OWE money to the school, the fin aid office informed they had a sudden balance due that MUST be paid to grad. Speaking from my own experience I was told I had a balance owed to the SCHOOL (not to the state) that MUST be paid. I received a letter that was very confusing and no more information explaining where this balance came from. The lack of information, unhelpful fin aid office & shady vibe is what made it hellish. They do not offer any form of leave except medical/COVID. None. If your house burns down, your parent dies, or you lose your job too bad. They'll give you a few days but if you don't show up for 14, you will be AUTOMATICALLY withdrawn & given no info regarding returning to school or finishing. That is what happened to me. BUSINESS 1st & SCHOOL 2nd: MY # 1 ISSUE WITH THIS SCHOOL. THEY WANT YOUR MONEY. They do not want to educate people they do not want to help you see a better future. The structure of this school is a BUSINESS. NOT an educational environment. In the classroom EVERYTHING was rushed so that they could get us on the floor ASAP bc that is how they make their $. Once you are on the floor, you are considered and EMPLOYEE. You are expected to get ppl in service them PERFECTLY sell retail & repeat. There is ONE instructor for the entire group. You see your client alone except for the intro and form fill. You will be performing chem peels alone on ppl after only ever doing 1. If you want help or better instruction, you have to be "annoying" & ask/beg. You pay 10,000+ to be instructed & educated. Instead, you get "hired" to make them $. Going over contract = paying the school 250 A WEEK. 1,000 a MONTH. EVEN IF YOU ONLY GO OVER 1 DAY. This is not state law, this is summit being GREEDY. They will not wave this. Poor attendance = not allowed to make up hrs. If you don't make them $, they make you PAY THEM by "tricking" you into going over contract. Other things to consider: Body shaming. Don't want your vagina waxed? don't do esty. Was told I didn't have to, then basically yelled @ in class for it. You will be talked about by staff. No joke. Very difficult hours. IF YOU ARE POOR HAVE TO WORK & DON'T LIVE IN KOKOMO DO NOT ATTEND. This school will suck the life, money, drive, and soul out of you. Consider other options at all costs. The ONLY ppl who were successful were the rich, local students who lived w/ parents & often had cos. licenses already. read more

prices are absolutely unbelievable. they don't tell you what you are being charged. i recently went for a color and was charged $110. At my normal salon i am charged in between $75-80 by a professional may I add. I will not be going back to this school for any reason. read more
