wow. I am so impressed. I came here by a complete fluke and I am so thankful God sent me here. I come from New York City and Los Angeles and am a freak about my nails. For three years I haven't found a nail salon that has hard gel (also known as poly gel I believe) and here in this small town Ivy had it and was a pro at application. I haven't had a manicure this well done since living in a Big City where the competition is fierce. Here in a small town, believe it or not, Ivy performed better than the Biggest Cities of the U.S. Also, the salon is completely gorgeous as Ivy mentioned to me it had just been re-done. I have been looking for a new place to get my nails done in Sherman since I moved from Fort Worth. Unfortunately, my gel manicure did not even last a week! The woman did not file my nails at all. I have been getting gel nails for a few years and this has never happened. They just popped off. The place seemed clean and not busy at all. The credit card machine was not working as well that day and I had to pay cash, which was annoying. I am definitely disappointed I paid so much to have a manicure that lasted three days! read more

This Nail Salon / Bar is definitely worth the hype. I wish I did have wine while getting my nails done. I go too early, thank goodness. This establishment is very clean and sanitized and all health license are up to code and presented for MY viewing. It's beautifully designed and the staff are very knowledgeable and professional. Amy is my nail tech and does an amazing job. I like this small town feel and have been coming here for over a year now. This location in Sherman, TX vs Dallas, TX, has me won over. On my last visit, the awesome daughter Amanda E. and I were fortunate enough to meet the owner. We had never meet him and he was kind enough to sit and chit chat with us. The last time I got my lashes done they were amazing and I was so happy because it was the very first time I'd ever gotten them done. However, this time was different. I went in and paid for a single layer full set which is $99 and instead I got what looked like it could've been $10 mascara. I talked to 2 different people and thought the problem would be resolved because I got nothing like I wanted and I asked for the exact thing I got the first time and got something completely different this time. The manager just repeated himself saying that my last pair was a multilayer when I know I asked for a single. I know at least 5 girls that go here to get their lashes done and get what I got the first time when asking for a single set. And I even sent him pictures of those girls' current lashes and he continued to tell me that the technicians were not doing their jobs correctly. So instead of fixing my lashes they are taking them off and giving me my money back! This is ridiculous and I will not be going back. read more

Ivy's lash and nail bar was my previous go-to nail salon and unfortunately I have to leave a negative review. They are nice people and the atmosphere is wonderful but the service could be better. I went in for a set of nexgen and I had an appointment. I waited 30 mins after my appointment was made and there were people WITHOUT appointments helped before me. Once I got to my chair they removed the nexgen I previously had, which was a painful process, and I got a cut from the technician at the base of my nail. They put the new nails on, they were uneven like every time before, and after getting color coat on they didn't file them until they were smooth so my nails were lumpy. Also, they didn't dip a few of my nails enough and they looked cloudy and too thin. Overall, didn't have the best experience and will not be returning:( read more

This is the worst nail salon I have ever been to! They over charge for what you're getting. When they mess up on your nail and you say something about it, it's not their fault it's your fault because you chose it and only blame you. If you're a person that likes to have length and design on your nails stay clear of this place!!! They cannot shape or do simple designs when that is what is advertised when you look up this place. They do not do refunds and they will not fix your nails they without charging you. They rush through doing your nails and don't even care about the way they look. While I used to be a loyal customer of theirs, I will no longer be doing business with Ivy's Lash and Nail Bar. They have recently implemented a "Cash Only" tip policy because they do not want to pay credit card fees in order for their employees to receive tips. They are however more than happy to collect fees from their customers who now need to get cash, by installing an ATM machine in the shop. This shows me that they do not care about their employees or their customers. There are two other nail shops within a couple miles of Ivy's that will now receive my business. read more

I really didn't want to have to write this...I have been a dedicated & loyal customer for over five years and recently I have noticed that the quality of customer service has continued to decline; satisfaction is no longer a priority and as a result I will be seeking services elsewhere. Yesterday (12/27/17) I left a message at 8:03 AM requesting a return call because I wanted to schedule a pedicure, nex gen nails, facial, and brow wax. Around 10:15 AM I realized that I had not received a return and called back - Courtney quickly answered and I explained what we wanted - having extensive experience with this spa, Courtney was aware of my preferences regarding the technicians. During the explanation of needs Courtney was very rushed (so much so I asked her to please slow down), she reported that the best appointment time would be 6:00 PM...I found this to be a little odd as they are scheduled to close at 7:00 PM and Patti & I were getting several services X 2...however, she assured me that they could complete the requested services and quickly hung up. We arrived shortly before 6:00 PM - during the the sign in process I informed Courtney that I recently had surgery on both legs - I was schedule to receive the most comprehensive pedicure but I wanted to be assured that the assigned technician did not massage my legs in a rough manner (as I have previously experienced on more than one occasion)...as for my nails, I always get the same type . We had requested Hannah & Kelly for our nails...Courtney assured us that the technicians doing the pedicures were the most experienced. The experience was less than desirable - I experienced the most difficult language barrier with my pedi technician to date - she caused pain on multiple occasions and when requested to not do something she would laugh...my nex gen nails were not the color that I had requested and finally, I was unable to get the facial as there was not enough time. This is not the first time that I have not had a pleasant experience - I have tried to overlook several cultural barriers but yesterday evening convinced me that the cultural differences were only one of the variables that contribute to my unpleasant experiences...customer satisfaction is not a priority!! Ivy spoke to me...her response to my concerns were "I had not given them a chance" - she never apologized...no one ever said "I'm sorry for the scheduling error...can you come tomorrow or I'll be happy to get you in at your earliest convenience"... no one was concerned that the pedi technician had caused me pain...bottom line is, no one cared - instead they quickly begin to speak in their native language with Courtney constantly whispering to Ivy's husband. Here are points and reasons for posting this review: 1. Courtesy and apologies go a long way with me and most people in general...maybe the next person that has a less than desirable experience at Ivy's Lash & Nail Bar will get both 2. Technicians that repeatedly cause pain & then laugh should receive a lesson in cultural sensitivity...it is not funny to hurt another person; I can't imagine elderly ladies or women with any type of leg/feet medical concerns would ever be humored by pain (btw, my legs hurt so bad after I got home that I required prescription medication) 3. When a request is made for nails to be a certain way and a certain color - the request of the customer is not always honored - recently I have had more than one technician argue with me on how I wanted my nails or completely do them in a manner I did not request 4. I know that we are probably not in the top 10 of customers in relation to how much money we spend at this establishment each month but I do know that on an average we spend almost $500.00 per month between the two of us. My opinion is that an on-going expense of this amount should result in satisfaction - and at this point it doesn't Unfortunately, we will not be going back...it is my hope that this post/review provides pause...for potential customers but more importantly to Ivy and her current staff. read more

Very disappointed. I went here a couple of weeks ago with a friend for pedicures because that's where she usually goes. For the service provided, it was too expensive and it was very lacking. It was less than an hour and they were rushed the entire time. We were supposed to get hot rocks and didn't. They push you into getting the "better" polish but it's not better at all. It's been less than 2 weeks and my polish is already coming off where I'm used to 3-4 weeks. I can go to "my place" and get more services for less money. And I'm taking my friend to show her what she's been missing out on. Thanks but no thanks. read more

Unfortunately I have had a very similar experience to Kelli B's. My daughter and I visit this salon every two weeks for Nexgen nails. Occasionally we get the top of the line pedicure also. Making an appointment is sometimes difficult, but I try to be patient. Last week when I called to schedule our regular technicians, Sophia and Oahn weren't available. When we arrived, it turned out that Sophia would have been available for my daughter, but apparently when making my appointments that wasn't understood. No problem really. We would make the best of it. Two people I have never seen before were assigned. During removal both techs were so impatient that I don't think the acetone set on my nails for more than two minutes in between grinding. This is very unusual in this shop. I became VERY concerned when my daughters tech began to paint and dip her new light pink nails because the old navy blue nails weren't fully removed. I kindly requested she make sure there weren't spots and she just stated it would be fine. Meanwhile my tech painted globs while dipping my nails repeatedly with each coat. They looked like hooves. Again, I kindly stated they were a little thick to which my daughters nail tech stated "she will grind off". In the end, my nails were ground down to acceptable with only one small bloody spot on my cuticles! My daughters light pink nails were blue speckled throughout. They were completely unacceptable. I was frustrated with trying to address this with the techs and decided to address it with the receptionist Courtney. I let her know that although I had never had a complaint in all the time I had been coming to Ivy's, my visit this time was a serious exception. I let her know I was completely dissatisfied. She took a picture of my daughters nails and said all she could do was offer me discount using the POINTS I HAD EARNED and speak later with Ivy. That didn't make me very happy, but I felt at the end of my patience. Half an hour later I received a phone call from Courtney. She stated that she and Ivy had spoken with the nail tech who said that my daughter was 13 and had blue ink on their hands and that must have been the problem. I don't know how you can logically get ink under your navy blue nails and still have it with your new light pink nails. I stated her nails would have to be replaced. Courtney stated that they would replace them but I have no desire to ever visit any establishment again that cares so little for their customers satisfaction. Unlike Kelli B's review, I don't care how much or how little I spend in a salon getting services. It should be a place that makes you feel pampered. You should leave with results that make you happy. It's not a necessary expense, it's a luxury. It should feel like one. Ivy's nail salon no longer provides that service. I will take my money elsewhere. read more

I read mixed reviews about Ivy's but wanted my lashes done for a wedding. I booked an appointment and told them I wanted natural looking lashes. After over an hour of being poked several times and feeling like one of the pieces of tape was cutting into my eyeball I was given the big reveal. The first words out of my mouth were "they are too long!!!!" Of course the girls who worked there all said they looked great. I had extensions done once before and they were very natural looking. These looked like I had caterpillars crawling on my eyelids and they were not even. I was told to give it a few days, which I did. By that time I was at the wedding destination thousands of miles away. I went into another salon and had the lashes shortened. They had already started to fall out less than two hours after I left Ivys They have continued to fall out quite rapidly even though I followed the aftercare instructions. I feel like I threw money down the drain. I also had a manicure done and felt rushed and my nails were better before I went All in all not a good experience. Update: less than two weeks later and most of the lashes on my left eye have fallen off. This is also the eye that the tape was rubbing and it may be coincidence but I now have conjunctivitis in that eye. I have never had it before! read more

First time there today to get an eyebrow wax. Very nice place and everyone was very courteous. I checked in through Yelp and there was a coupon for 30 percent for the check in. I showed it when I checked out and they refused to honor it. I realize I only had an eyebrow wax so the bill was only $10. The issue I had was there was not a restriction listed on the coupon. Even the manager said the information on Yelp was incorrect. The employees were really nice however. I will go back, just know there may be fine print on a coupon. read more

This location is under new management with a completely new staff. So, I called and requested an appointment with my usual nail tech as I did not realize that the change over had occurred and that the phone number stayed with the location, and was told that she no longer worked there. When I walked in, I realized what had happened but thought I would give them try anyway. Pedicure tech: kept grabbing onto my injured toe even though I had explained up front that it had been broken and was still healing. Other than that, pedi was so-so, probably a "B" grade. Mani-tech: poor job on trimming cuticles and nails were not filed straight or even; "C" at best. Manager did the bum rush as soon as the were finished, even though there were st least 6 empty chairs and no one waiting. I asked if there was a reason that I wasn't allowed to sit and let my nails dry for a few minutes. Really??? I'd recommend someplace else, any place else. read more

I have went to lash and nail bar a few times now. Typically I go to a nice nail salon in Dallas, Texas... But I was staying with my family for a few months so I decided to come up lash and nail bar, seeing as though it had the best reviews in the area. I have been very disappointed. To start out with, nothing was cleaned. Files/etc were very obviously used on other clients which is NOT SAFE and NOT SANITARY. The Nexgen powder was dumped in a cup, and then dumped back into the original tub, which is also not sanitary. I came two times and this was the case both times, and both times my nail tech had clammy hands, which in my opinion is just a little gross. Not to mention both times my nails have been really uneven and have broken way faster than they should. Highly DONT recommend this place. read more

I came to Ivy's to get a lash refill and received excellent service. I had been using a different lash technician, but switched to Ivy's because my previous technician was never able to accommodate any rescheduling of appointments. After receiving great service, I scheduled a pedicure. I received the same excellent service and will now use Ivy's for all my lash and nail services. They have plenty of technicians and are able to accommodate their clients. The salon is clean, beautifully contemporary and friendly. read more

This was not a good experience for dipped nails. They were too thick and the tech couldn't get my nails to look like they do when I get them done in metroplex or McKinney.
