He has a way of listening and speaking that makes me feel like I matter, and my desires are worth listening to. He is an incredibly talented Dr and I am so grateful that I was able to have my second delivered by him. I don't know how this is possible but he doesn't seem to have been jaded by the medical field nor is he a slave to the system - he is one of a kind and an excellent advocate for women. I come from a family of Doctors so I say this with respect -- but most have an ego about them and I have felt patronized and dismissed by some. Dr Cobb is not that way at all. He is both confident and humble in his care. He made me feel safe and cared for. He has a way about him that is integrous and highly capable. If you are a mom carrying a piece of you into the world you probably feel both the heavy responsibility and fear of getting it right. Personally giving birth has been one of the most important moments of my life. Having the best Doctor by your side makes all the difference

Other OBs did not think it was necessary since I was young and it was "only" my first miscarriage. I was too scared to try again until someone recommended Dr. Cobb. Dr. Cobb respects and truly understands my concerns, and he was willing to take extra steps to ensure my pregnancy was closely monitored. He made me feel that I had a certain level of control over my pregnancy, rather than simply being instructed. During delivery, my baby's heart rate was unstable for five hours, and I was unable to make further progress after reaching eight centimeters dilation. I asked whether it was time for an emergency C section. Dr. Cobb eased my mind and placed additional monitors to carefully track my baby's heart rate. My baby boy was ultimately delivered safely through a vaginal birth. I feel incredibly blessed to have had him as my OB throughout this pregnancy. Every visit made me feel respected, well cared for, and reassured. I would recommend him to everyone in San Diego!

Borrego Women's Health with Dr. Robert Segnit was a bad experience! He was "polite" enough but the appt was a total waste of time! He was snarky with me at the end & did NOT want to consider a pelvic congestion or venous issue as a source of chromic pelvic pain with the fibroids. 2 years later I am now at UCSD about to get UAE for fibroids & will probably need a STENT in the Left common Iliac vein. It took an MRA to diagnose. Over the last 2 yrs pelvic pain increased & pain/pressure in left leg veins increased~Generally an unwell feeling in the entire body. Thankfully UCSD gyno & UCSD IR listened to me & UCSD IR doc was an angel! No ego & a genuinely compassionate doc willing to explore further (b/c gyno also threw out a possible Endometriosis dx on the table) Dr. Robert Segnit (gyno) who was the colleague of Dr. Tracie Davis, is apparently retired now. Initially I wanted to see her, but she was booked, so I went with him. Maybe if I had seen the female doc she would've listened to me? But I doubt it b/c none of my other docs listened. I think male gynos & male IR for UAE are bad & non-empathetic. Male docs don't have the anatomy & cannot comprehend the severe & deep pain in the pelvis or the annoyance of bladder incontinence from bulky fibroid uterus. ***I had 2 older male docs who basically misdiagnosed me & had ZERO clue where the pain & pressure were coming from & did NOTHING for me to try to figure out WHY I was suffering. The male IR doc was not at this clinic. He was at {American Access Care~Dr. Zachary Rattner} Dr. Rattner was trying to tell me I didn't know the difference between uterine or ovarian pain & he didn't even know what PCOS was. He kept interrupting me every time I said "pain in the uterus". He refused to do UAE on my multiple fibroids b/c I wasn't "bleeding enough" & he thought the pain was probably in my ovaries. (umm well at UCSD I did show venous reflux bilaterally in the ovaries on the MRA but the pain in 2021 was dead center near, where my IUD was inserted) I think these older arrogant, male docs in their 60's or 70's are not up to speed or up to date with the current literature, research & diagnoses. May-Thurner & pelvic venous congestion DO exist & everything should be done for women to test for Iliac Vein compressions to rule that out. Some women may not be symptomatic, but for those of us who are symptomatic, we need the proper dx & tx!

Disheartening Experience with Dr. Li Fan…read more I don't usually leave reviews for non food experiences, but I felt it was important to share my experience with Dr. Li Fan so that other expectant mothers know what to expect. Throughout my pregnancy, I often felt more judged than supported. Dr. Fan was very strict about weight gain and repeatedly emphasized that gaining more than 25 pounds was "excessive." Every pregnancy is different, and instead of encouragement or tailored advice, I often felt criticized for not fitting her idea of a "textbook" pregnancy. I was also required to complete multiple non-stress tests (NSTs) at a location that did not accept my insurance. When I brought this up, I was told I had no choice but to get the tests done there. It felt unfair and added more unnecessary stress during an already emotional time. My postpartum experience was equally disappointing. At my 6-week checkup, I mentioned that I had been celibate since giving birth and plan to continue without birth control, and Dr. Fan responded, "Men don't like to wait. They have needs." I was at a loss for words, the comment felt dismissive and inappropriate, especially during such a sensitive and vulnerable time. After my delivery (March 2025) , I also waited much longer than expected to be discharged. Dr. Fan didn't come by my hospital room until around 5-6 p.m. the day i was supposed to be discharged, which unnecessarily delayed my discharge and added stress during a time when I just wanted to be home with my baby. While I'm sure Dr. Fan has patients who appreciate her straightforward approach, my experience left me feeling unheard and unsupported. Compassion, understanding, and sensitivity are essential in women's healthcare. Unfortunately, those qualities were missing in my experience with Dr. Li Fan.

This is kind of lengthy and not necessarily negative however, i want to share my experience in…read morehopes it may help someone else who finds themselves in a similar situation. Back in 2022, after struggling with very heavy periods for years, Dr. Fan was able to diagnose me with multiple uterine fibroids. I had surgery shortly after, and the care I received during that process was excellent. Fast forward to 2025--I found out I was unexpectedly pregnant. I was very early, about four weeks along, and had to wait for my first ultrasound. A couple of weeks later, I began bleeding heavily and feared I was miscarrying. I called the office, had blood work done, and was told my HCG levels were high. When I repeated the test two days later, the office relayed through a front desk coordinator that my levels had "dropped" and I was miscarrying. This was incredibly difficult news to hear, and I later saw in my chart that my levels had not dropped significantly. I also feel strongly that sensitive information like this should always come directly from a licensed medical professional, not front office staff. When I returned for an ultrasound to make sure the miscarriage was progressing as expected, I was shocked and overwhelmed to learn that I was still pregnant--about 9 1/2 weeks along. The ultrasound also showed a large subchorionic bleed, though I was reassured that these often resolve on their own. I was prescribed progesterone and began taking it immediately, which initially helped, but when the bleeding worsened again and I asked to be seen urgently, I was told I would need to wait a couple of days for the next available appointment. Unfortunately, I miscarried that night at 10 weeks. I still carry many "what ifs" about whether pushing harder for immediate appointments or additional intervention could have made a difference. This is not meant as a purely negative review, but as encouragement to others: if you are pregnant and experiencing heavy bleeding, advocate strongly for yourself. Request to speak directly with your doctor, insist on being seen, and make sure your concerns are heard. While I remain grateful for the care I received in the past and for Dr. Fan's role in diagnosing and treating my fibroids, I've unfortunately lost a lot of trust during this experience. I am hopeful that by sharing my story, the office may be able to use it as a learning opportunity to improve communication and patient care and possibly help save someone else from experiencing a miscarriage in the future.

He recommended that she stays away from opioids. Which I agree - opioids are addicting but my mother was in pain. I informed him that my mother has no history of abusing drugs or alcohol. Long story short my mother did the procedure with KAMALI at Sharp Chula Vista hospital. The hospital treatment was a whole different story. My mother was mistreated at the hospital multiple times and I got proof. Anyways After the procedure he informed me that it went great with no complications. When I saw my mother after 15 mins she informed me that she woke up during procedure. He failed to inform me that my mother woke up twice during anesthesia. He also failed to formally apologize to my mother and after the procedure his whole attitude shifted. Then I spoke to him and he told me to educate my mother to stay away from opioids (oxycodone) I informed him my mother is in pain and she needs it and he said it can cause her harm and can be addicted to them. I then told him that her urine, blood or a website that providers has access to shows that my mother has never abused alcohol or drugs. She's clean as whistle. 1. He was willing to discharge my mother even though she wasn't able to keep liquid food down. 2. He did not inform me that my mother needs to pass gas. (aware of it cause I'm in medical field) 3. Her IV was off multiple times (they didn't even care about dehydration) 4. He did not prescribe my mother her TSH medication. Hospital was aware that she should've been prescribed TSH medication. 5. When complaining to Dr.Kamali about how the nurses are mistreating my mother he got irritated and told me has no control of the nurses and I need to let the manger know. I said I did but I just wanted to inform you and he completely lost it. He stated "if your mother was treated horribly by the nurses then she can go home so she doesn't have to go through this experience." Then I said "if I was you I would refrain from saying that because we as patients and as humans come to the hospital to be properly diagnosed, taken care of and treated properly. Please Dr.Kamali don't speak to us that way" He then became sarcastic and stated "I have patients that I discharged within two hours after doing hysterectomy. with my 17 year experience I guess you know more than I do. I will prescribe all the narcotics that you guys want and she can stay in the hospital for 17 days" - He and the nurses failed to inform my mother that that oxycodone is as needed. They told us it's every 3 hours and there were gaps. I promise you my mother went through pain and they held back on giving her medication. I filed a complaint so then they switched their narrative and said that oxycodone is as needed but it was not put that way on the board. I promise you they told me it's every 3 hours - they failed to give it every 3 hours and switched the whole narrative about it being as needed. ( informing patients about medication and how it's suppose to be given is important. Kamali and nurses failed to inform us properly) 6. He FAILED to check my mothers incisions. He had a RN check her incisions. I was in shock and speechless. A RN has no experience how the MD does. A MD should do their job and not have a 4 year experience nurse do that for them. No disrespect to nurses. I feel more comfortable if a provider checks not a RN. But then again that way he makes more money and so does the hospital. He just goes on to the next patient. 7. The following day he just came to visit my mother and he did not say good morning or anything. My mother asked him if she will be discharged and he stated "ask your daughter if it's okay to be discharged" and he walked away. Even the nurse that was there was in shock. Provider failed to take care of my mother. He failed multiple times. I had to advocate for my mother multiple times. If I wasn't advocating then I don't know what would've happened to my mother. Opioids are there for people that actually need the medication. Especially after a procedure. If not then I wonder why DEA still has opioids approved to be prescribed. I brought my mother to him to be taken care of and I ended up traumatizing her. Kamali and Sharp Chula Vista really mistreated us. I have proof. I despise calling him a provider, although I am grateful he took out the cyst but he needs to work on his communication, patient care, and needs to lose his pride. He needs to work on more things.
