I thought it was just the hormones, but then I called For Kids Sake. When I called, Julie had me on the phone for over an hour; setting up appointment times to meet, outlining their policies, talking about pregnancy and having small babies. Julie said so many times, "Come meet us... If we're not for you and your family, we are just happy to show you around and show you what's out there." We walked in and I could see each child felt loved. The teachers are keenly aware of the childrens' individual needs. Our daughter is getting ready to join her young preschool friends in a couple months and she is excited. I am excited because she is so well cared for at school. I feel so lucky that she has a place to learn and grow. It's a bonus that she's learned tons of sign language, is singing songs about cleaning up at home, and taking care of her things (like her coat and shoes). I would never hesitate to recommend FKS.

She is writing her name, letters and numbers, and can even teach me some sign language. And I thought I was the teacher! She loves playing with her friends, being a carefree kid, and I love being a carefree parent. I know that no matter what kind of day she may be having, she will be treated kindly, fairly and with compassion. Although she is not old enough to identify why this place is so great, besides the wonderful friends and fun teachers, I can tell that she feels the same way I do since she BEGS me to take her to "her school" each week. With such a great start, her excitement for learning and school will hopefully continue on for many years.

Care is individualized for each child and each child is given a chance to grow and learn in a respectful environment. The kids spend a good portion of the day outside so if you visit and the space seems small it is because they don't spend all day in the building. If it is over 10 degrees they are outside playing. Kids come home exhausted, happy, satiated, and wonderfully dirty. They are fed organic, healthy snacks, and they actually eat them. I almost choked on my coffee when I read the email that my son had asked for extra kale at snack time. Are you serious? It wasn't in chicken nugget form and he ate it? The administrators are working with kids and teachers all day so sometimes it can take a few calls to get questions answered. Don't get discouraged by this. It is worth the effort to get a hold of them and take a tour. As a foster parent I've experienced a lot of daycares and preschools in the area. There is no place in the county that compares to Green Apple.

Jill and Eric are absolutely amazing people and always treat my daughter as an equal and not a "child". They refer to eachother as "friends" and take a very gentle and realistic approach to how they construct their afternoons. Jill and Eric plan activities that involve mostly items found in nature and encourage the children to utilize their imagination to create fun and educational activities. I'm super excited that Green Apple is offering Spanish Immersion at AALC and will definitely be enrolling my daughter in this awesome opportunity. Thank you Green Apple for providing such wonderful care to my precious girl.

They feed the children fruit for lunch that has been molded, just rinsed off and then served. They only serve unhealthy options for snack which is served twice a day (chips, cookies, crackers). The owner doesn't even allow her child to eat the food that is served there. They do awesome art projects and follow lesson plans, but don't always follow medication instructions. Directors have been over a half hour late to scheduled medicine times to distribute the medicine to the child. The parents are forced to pay for days when the center is closed (holiday's and cleaning days). Some of those days the employees are forced to not work. Therefore it is a complete profit day for the center. Examples include: The Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and New Years Eve. On these days the center is closed, the parents still pay, but the employees don't receive any pay. Some of their teachers are awesome! But there never seems to be a director around to talk to the parents...there's always a wait time when someone is trying to locate a director in the building. If they paid their staff better they would have a full staff of awesome teachers. They are not paid what they deserve for how hard those teachers work everyday. Make your own choice but I know my child will be attending a different daycare.

What is best at Ann Arbor's Center is there Monthly curriculums. Seeing the children's art work Is amazing and watching them grow Making friends and learning. My daughter Madelyn, has attended Ann Arbor's Kindercare since she was 6 weeks old. I knew coming into KinderCare my child would learn to go from an infant to a toddler in no time. She was in infants and learned to roll talk and walk. Going into toddler A and B she learned to walk so well she started potty training in toddler b on the potty and now in discovery preschool she's officially 3 and she's fully potty trained. The teachers really show how much this job means to them and what it takes to have a child improve. I'm super happy with how much She's grown as a toddler and learning to speak fluent sentences. Most of all what makes me the happiest is they have us bring family photos to stick up on the classroom walls and the child can be at eye level and know I'm in a safe place because my family is right beside me in my classroom As I move to each class as I grow. If Your ever wanting to enroll in a child care center that is learning based Ann Arbor Kindercare, its CLEAN! Tracy, the owner of Friends and Family made it very apparent that we were replaceable as she has a waitlist a year long! Backstory: My fiancé Olga and I had our first child at the end of May. We were fortunate enough to be in a position that Olga could work from home and then work part time at her office after our daughter was born. Our lease was up in September and so we were looking to move to the Clinton, Tecumseh, Adrian area. Friends and Family came highly recommended by one of our close friends who currently have their son enrolled there. They did not have an opening in the infant room until the start of the year but that was fine as our schedules allowed Olga to continue to work part time in the office while continuing to care for our child. At the start of daycare our daughter 7 months old and her and Olga formed a close bond so we knew that starting daycare was going to be a big change for our daughter. Olga expressed our concerns to Tracy but was assured that everything would be okay. On Monday, 1/2/2023 our daughter started day care and as suspected after a few hours was extremely fussy and we offered to come pick her up. Again this happened on Tuesday, and again we offered to pick her up early. On Wednesday our daughter immediately freaked out once she realized where she was but we left her hoping that she would be consoled and calm down after we were gone. Unfortunately this did not happen and again we picked her up. We tried discussing ways to help with the transition and how to make this easier for everyone and it was decided that I drop her off on Thursday. Thursday morning came and I dropped our daughter off and again immediately she began crying and we received message that she was inconsolable and that they have never had a baby be this fussy after 3-4 days in daycare. Again we picked up our daughter and Olga had a conversation with Tracy which left her very upset. Please note at no point did anyone from Friends and Family suggest to just leave her for the full day and let her cry it out or figure out that being fussy is not going to get us to come pick her up. In fact, it was quite the opposite and we were told essentially that Val's crying was being very disruptive to the other babies in the room and Tracy was concerned staff would quit over having to handle a fussy baby... After talking it over with friends who infants in day care, I reached out to Tracy in an effort to discuss the situation and how we can make this transition easy for everyone. During the conversation, Tracy' did make a few suggestions that could be helpful and we will be trying them, the overall impression I gained from the conversation was that my child is replaceable and if she does not become a model baby and not fussy within the next week we will be asked to leave. To quote Tracy during this conversation, "I have a wait list a year out and I can find another infant." Following our conversation I sent Tracy an email expressing our concerns and that it was apparent that our daughter is expected to fall in line or we would be asked to leave and that Friends and Family would not be providing any extra help during the transition process and that ultimately we have decided to terminate the relationship. Within 11 minutes of that email Tracy simply provided the most apathetic response of "Sorry that we couldn't work on this but with state guidelines we have to follow it was hard to do what Olga wanted us to do." We simply needed some guidance and asked for some extra help provided to our 7 month old daughter while she goes through this transition. We were not expecting such help to be provided indefinitely and if after a few weeks it was still a problem then we will look at other options. To further solidify my opinion that Tracy only cares about the money and all our children are easily replaceable. Not only did they not offer a refund of our deposit but about an our after terminating our relationship with Friends and Family Daycare I received an invoice for the four, half-days that our daughter spent there. See the attached email. Do yourself a favor and find another day care facility who actually cares about you and your family especially if you think your child transitioning to day care will be difficult or you might end up writing a similar email.

I have had multiple conversations with teddy bears... the owner, the director, teachers, the kids grandmother who I believe has custody, every one! they were suppose to keep said child away from my daughter in separate groups a safety plan was in place they admitted to not following. friday I got a call at exactly 4pm (the time they may come together at the end of the day due to staffing shortages so i try to pick her up asap after fun field trips) that my daughter was "accidentally injured" by another student...she didnt cry (which she later told me she did SO WHY LIE) and shes fine. That means they are lieing to me about everything and they just dont care. so did they came together before the designated time or the bully came strait for my 6 year old daughter at 4pm. ellianah had a bloody mouth because this child smacked her metal thermas water bottle into her mouth while she was drinking. WHY IS THIS TOLERATED? WHY IS THIS CHILD ALLOWED TO BULLY STUDENTS WITH NO CONSEQUENCES! you would think this child should be punished due to the reoccurrence and the fact she has problems with multiple children not only mine but it's just okay for her to bully and physically injure other kids but instead they call the police on her angry parents, can you blame us? NEXT TIME IT COULD BE WORSE. I have documented proof from a teacher stating my child isn't the problem, it isnt only my child, said child has been complained about for years and nothing is being done. I PAYED TEDDY BEARS TO KEEP MY CHILD SAFE AND REPEATEDLY IT HAS BEEN PROVEN THEY ARENT CAPABLE OF DOING SO. THE DIRECTOR DOES NOTHING TO CORRECT THE ISSUE ONLY TELLS US TO LEAVE TEDDY BEARS IF WE WANT NO APOLOGIES NOTHING, WHY IS THIS CHILD PROTECTED AND MINE ISNT? WE OBVIOUSLY TOOK OUR BABY OUT OF THERE AFTER CUTTING DOWN DAYS WASNT ENOUGH HOWEVER THE VICTIM SHOULD NOT BE PUNISHED. TO GRANDMA DO BETTER RAISE YOUR GRANDKIDS TO NOT BE MANIPULATIVE BULLY'S WHO WILL END UP IN PRISON. TEDDY BEARS DO BETTER AND REALIZE A CHECK FROM THE STATE ISNT WORTH MY CHILDS SAFETY. MY CHILDS SAFETY AND WELLBEING WILL ALWAYS BE #1. I'm pretty disgusted with every party involved.

Questions of my character as a parent came into play instead of focusing on the needs of my child and effectively communicating concerns. Principal is unreasonable and took statements geared towards open discussion and escalated them instead of putting me at ease. Principal was not open to helping and was condescending. When looking at the parent's statement below who engaged an attorney to speak to the Principal, I am not not surprised and saddened I sent my child to this school after making such a financial sacrifice to do so. The school promises low class sizes but this is untrue. Lower grades can have as many as 26 children- making this comparable, or even more in numbers, to public school. As a Christian, I am grateful I won't be sending my child here again and that the truth of how the school operates was fully exposed to me. I would not recommend this school.
