Most of the town was closed up but Hop & Vine on the second level of a centrally located spot on Hastings St happily served us. I had the vegetarian fried rice (yummy fresh scallions, Chinese veggies, mushrooms, peas) and partner had two buns and the tuna steak with salad. Portions were just right. Server also seemed to be the owner/manager and talked our ears off about some random topics (AMEX business fees, nature walks in the area, the last few places he vacationed abroad). Nice space and ambiance. Looked like an extensive wine list, good craft beer on draft.

It's conveniently located in Carseldine Central where parking is plentiful. I wasn't expecting too much when we went there, and I was pleasantly surprised by the food. The dumplings were excellent, and the mains were awesome. The Sichuan beef stir fry, salt and pepper calamari and satay chicken were particular standouts. The drinks were made from scratch and were refreshing and scrumptious! I loved the Lychee twist and Lemon Lime and Bitters. Service was friendly and attentive, making this restaurant a good alternative to Sunnybank where service is an afterthought (and often feels like taking a trip to Timbuktu). This restaurant is a great addition to the Northside culinary scene and I expect this eatery to become more popular as time goes by.

The ramen was rich and comforting, with a deep, savoury broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and generous toppings like soft-boiled egg, tender pork, and fresh greens. The sides were just as good -- crispy, light, and paired with a tasty dipping sauce that added a nice kick. Another standout was the curry-style dish, which was creamy, aromatic, and balanced nicely with fresh herbs and tender meat. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The only reason it's not a full 5 stars is that some dishes felt just a little on the pricey side, but the quality mostly justifies it. Overall, Rice Boi is a great spot for flavour-packed Asian-inspired food and is definitely worth a visit if you're on the Sunshine Coast.
