A lot of their plants are looking rough, half dead. Not sure how a place that specializes in plants allows that to happen. Also, way overpriced. There are numerous companies that have a better, healthier selection that will deliver directly to your house for a much lower price. read more

Wow I am so impressed by this florist. I work with a makeup brand and someone whom we work closely with for promotion had a family member pass in the Michigan area. We first tried 1800flowers and two days later, no flowers were delivered and they were awful to work with and we canceled. I went with a local florist instead and found J Alexander online with great reviews. They were able to deliver the sympathy flowers same day (even though we placed slightly after their cut off, thank you!). We are based all the way in Maryland so I was worried about using a florist we didn't know well, but I am thoroughly impressed with how prompt their service was. Wonderful business. read more

My son went up to get 1 full yard of rock today. The owner charged him the full amount and gave him 1/2 a yard. He advised her that he used to work there several years ago before it has changed hands a few times and in landscaping for 10 years. He knows the difference and she argued with him and just gave him the 1/2 anyway. People that are not in this line of work would just take her word for it. If we weren't in a hurry then he would have gone some where else. Don't give your business to someone that doesn't know her measurements or that is out to rip people off. read more

Ordered a garden planter in a basket for a funeral. The picture had 2-3 blooming plants like violets, kalanchoes? I specifically asked for some blooming plants and something yellow if possible. When we got to funeral home, there were a few green houseplants in an ugly brown basket with a yellow bow, no blooms at all. Looked like a $20 planter I could have picked up anywhere, but with tax and delivery cost $115. Very disappointed. read more

If I could give this florist 6 stars I would. I sent flowers to my mother-in-law and they were absolutely beautiful. On-time, as promised and she loved them. The bouquet was really reasonably priced and J Alexander's just became my go-to florist in Jackson! Great value and great service! read more

First, J Alexander florist is now located on Fourth Street just off Franklin. The two locations listed online can be confusing, but this is the current location. Second, I wanted to comment on the FABULOUS service I received from Sam at J Alexander a couple of weeks ago! I was helping my teenage son order a corsage for his first prom and he had a very specific idea of what he wanted. I spent the better part of two days waiting for a call back from another florist in town who said they could do what he wanted and was supposed to get me a price quote When I finally called THEM back, they said the person I was waiting for a call from wouldn't be back in the shop until the the day of the event, that they had never done that type of corsage before, weren't sure how to do it, and were unable to do the order he wanted unless he were to provide some of the materials. (I didn't know that was even a thing!?!) This put him back to the drawing board a few days before the event. When we called J Alexander's to ask if they had ever done this type of corsage before, the response was "Oh yes, we just took a class on that a couple of months ago. Sure we can do that for you." Within a couple of hours she had put together an example of what we had discussed and sent an electronic photo to us with what she had on hand to see if she was "on the right track". When we arrived to pick it up, she had done two different ones in slightly different colors of the flower requested and we were able to pick the one that was just right. It was beautiful and his girlfriend loved it! They really know the meaning of Customer Service and that is just as important as the product delivered! We will definitely be using them again in the future and I will not be calling that other florist again. read more
