Sunset Beach is a must-visit every time I go to the Jersey Cape - have watched the ship off shore slowly be reclaimed by the elements. It has also been interesting to watch the little shops slowly expand and update from year to year - now featuring plenty (usually) of parking, a mini golf course, a small but nice restaurant, nearby concrete WWII tower converted to a museum, etc. I have noticed that the Cape May Diamonds® are thinning out a bit compared to the late 70s, but there are still plenty to find - which makes this a great location to take the kids & the great thing is you don't have to spend a dime if you don't want to. Also, there is a reason for the name - great location to watch sunsets out over the bay! Highly recommended!

Boy was…read moreI wrong, this spot is just PERFECT for a sunset & we lucked out on a gorgeous July evening to witness it! Yes, it gets crowded but the beach is big & there's a fantastic energy & everyone is respectful. An absolute must do when in CM & side note, the gift shop right there is MASSIVE & I happily picked up some really pretty souvenirs!

I bought the cutest stuffed animal ever here!! I saw it in the window, but the store was closed…read more It's one of those things that you lay your eyes on it - and you HAVE to have it!! So I came back the next day and bought it. It was a blue stuffed pig (because of the famous Blue Pig Tavern located in the hotel), and as crazy as it sounds, it's one of my favorite plush toys now. It looked like it would cost over $30, but it was only $15! It's a small little shop that sells very cute souvenirs of the hotel and Cape May. This is part of the Cape May Whale Watch, this neat little shop offers all kinds of Cape May…read moresouvenir's from t-shirts, hoodies and hats and trinkets, there is a lot of stuff in the small store ( and no good for wheelchairs, too tight to maneuver in ), but their offerings do help support the whale watch and overall all staff we interacted with where very nice and were sharp enough to know when someone is shop lifting ( don't even try it here, they will press charges ) and rightly so, those people make trouble and the staff stops it in the bud.
