I bought a Ryobi electric riding mower in 2020 and when it started having issues in 2023 Ryobi told me to use J & K Small Engine repair for any warranty work. They are always slow, 4-6 weeks for any repair I've needed. This past winter I asked them to look into why it wasn't charging well. They picked it up in November 2024 and I didn't get it back until March 2025. They said the batteries were fine at that time ( I had replaced them 16 months prior), it was a bad charger. So I paid for a new charger. I used the mower one time and it would not run. The guage showed a full battery charge, but it wouldn't run. Sent it back to them and it took a month for them to tell me the batteries were bad. When they brought it back to me they did not bring my charger back. In March when I told the woman on the phone I needed it back ASAP because I'm 67 yo widow and I had to push-mow while the rider was in the shop, she was surly and said push-mowing was better. Don't fall for this scam. I called for a quote to repair my riding lawn mower. I asked for the cost. The lady on the phone said it was $75. They came and picked up my lawn mower. They called me today with the estimate. Now she says it would cost $165 for my mower to be delivered back to me. When I explained that this was not the price we discussed she said very rudely "well I'll just keep it then" and hung up. Now they won't answer the phone when I call. While the guys doing the work are probably fine, the female at the front desk was absolutely the rudest person I've dealt with in quite some time. She was blunt but at least tolerable up to the point they had my mower, then once they had it, she became of no help, had no answers to any of my questions and did not even bother to make contact after a week of them having my mower to even acknowledge they had picked it up. I finally reached out only to be told she had no idea when it would be ready. All she said was "it could be 2 days, 2 weeks or 2 months..." then silence. I asked what I could expect and all she said was there was another one in there that had been waiting several weeks, then silence again. When I thanked her, she simply hung up on me without a word. I went in later in the day to get my mower back, advising the retailer was going to trade me out for another one and in a very confrontational tone, she said "well, they've already put a new battery in it and there was labor!" I asked her if they could unwind it since a return really doesn't need a new battery. Just then, one of the guys in the back walked out and in a very annoyed tone she said "this guy doesn't want that battery now - I really don't want to take it out!" He said yeah, no problem and she's nothing but attitude. Took the $100 off the cost of the $50 battery and handed me the receipt and walked away without so much as making eye contact. Nice folks. A friend recommended them when the steering on my lawn tractor went out. I had them replace the blades, a bearing, and a belt also. Picked up and delivered my unit in exactly 3 weeks which I thought was good in the spring. Has to be their busiest season. My friend was right. I also now recommended them. read more

Dropped off a go kart and a mini bike for these guys to fix. Took about 3 weeks, which was not an issue. These small businesses are busy and doing damn good work! They were extremely affordable and fixed both of our toys right. We will continue to use this company any tome we have small engine issues!! read more

I just got my pressure washer back from this repair shop. We took it in for a warranty part repair that was not engine related. It was running fine the weekend before I dropped it off for repair. The day it was repaired they called and said it didn't have any oil and the engine was locked up. I said well that's funny because it had oil when I dropped it off to you. They then said they freed the engine up but had no compression and it would be $300 to fix. I didn't believe them and told them I would pick it up. When I picked it up they had removed the spark plug so I couldn't see if it would start. I bought a new spark plug today and the it runs just like it did before I dropped it off for repair. This repair shop lied to us and tried to get us to spend money because the warranty part was free. I will never ever do business with this repair shop again. Zero stars!!!! read more

I had a brand new pressure washer that quit working the first time I used it. It wouldn't restart. I had an awful summer last year and just put it In the shed. This summer I pulled it out and contacted company. They referred me to J & K small engine repair for them to check the motor to see if it was company/motor issue or fault of mine. After reading some reviews I was nervous about using them... but I have to say. I am 100% happy with them. They did have to have it a little longer than usual due to COVID, but I was ok with it. I just needed it fixed. They called a few weeks later and said it was ready. I was nervous to pick it up, but there was no charge. It was indeed a fault of the company. So I wanted to give them a good review. So often, people will only leave negative review because they are angry. Thank you J&k!! You made this girl happy!! Thanks for your work! Took an older riding mower to this business. They were extremely courteous and friendly. They even sharpened the blade and gave free delivery. The mower works great. Highly recommend to everyone. read more
