This was my boyfriend's first time riding a horse and she immediately put him at ease. I had not ridden in years after competing for a long time, but it truly felt like riding a bicycle. I loved learning about the history of the plantation, taking in the scenic views, and experiencing the gentle nature of my horse, Gator. The horses were wearing festive Christmas gear, which added such a special and cheerful touch to the ride. The entire experience was peaceful and serene, and I felt calm and refreshed both during and long after.

The trail is marked with mile markers and there is a map at the beginning of the trail. Easy to follow and navigate your way. There is a fitness area which I thought was neat. There are no accessible restrooms available that I saw. There are no animal waste areas that are available that I saw. I will definitely try this trail again.

It is usely not very crowded, and there's no charge to fish off the pier. It is a little walk to get to the pier from the parking area but well worth the walk. I would recommend Higgins Pier.
