This barn is truly heaven on earth for horse...and rider!! Not only is it beautifully situated on…read more24 green, grassy acres, but it is also safe and very clean! Something that my last barn was not. The owner, Pam, cares so deeply about every aspect from having added a luxurious bathroom for her boarders, to making sure that any horse entering her property is UTD on all vaccinations and shows proof of negative coggins. I wasn't sure what to expect when I arrived as I was so fearful that it would be like my last barn. My horse would get constantly beaten up by other horses, and even ended up with a huge gash on his jaw that cost over $500 in stitches, not to mention the agony for my poor guy. Anyway, from day one, this has been my retreat and my joy. I absolutely LOVE coming here. He is always well taken care of, with a clean stall, and he also has a huge grassy paddock all to himself during the days he is out. LOVE!! She will spray him with inspect spray, hold him for the vet, blanket him, and do whatever it takes...without charging extra like most places! He has a large wash room, rubber mats in his stall, a fan for hot days, an automatic watering system...you name it!! There is a huge sand filled riding arena, that has lights for riding after hours. I've spent hours here and have loved every minute. There are only a handful of other boarders as Pam works hard to make sure the barn is never over-crowded. This is unheard of, as most places pack their barns with so many horses!! She hosts upper-level Dressage clinics and events too. I especially love the large indoor, secure tack room area. It is as big as a house! My tack stays dry and safe there. Lastly, Pam is always smiling and upbeat. She is a pleasure to be around, and makes sure that her barn stays that way too. No drama here at all! I wish I could spend every hour of every day here. I highly recommend this barn to anyone!! However, lets keep it small :-)!!

The place makes a good first impression but then you move your horse there and it is like hell on…read moreearth. In the short time I boarded there the owner was gone on vacation all the time and left the barn in the hands of very inexperienced people and even when she was home there was never anything even resembling a schedule for feeding and turnout. When it rains it takes several days for the place to dry out and the arena is either rock hard or wet and slippery. Pastures are very small and overgrazed, and the hay she feeds is pretty crappy. Also having the tack room up above the barn, up a flight of stairs got old pretty quick. And, the amount of feed covered by your board is pretty minimal, every boarded at the place is buying additional hay and grain. Don't make the mistake I did, you can do better for your horse.

My horse was supposed to be in private turn out and not only was he not, he was turned out with three or four other horses at a time. For almost a thousand dollars a month in South Carolina this is utterly ridiculous. It is the only "equestrian" center to turn out expensive sport horses in HERDS and still charge a thousand dollars monthly. My horse was scheduled to move for a lease and when he was picked up he was completely lame. On three legs. I was never told or alerted. In fact, the manager of Iron Horse LLC, claimed the opposite. We had a vet examine him and Dr Miller guesses that he had a leg injury from being kicked. To add insult to injury, almost everything I had was stolen from this "equestrian center." Ted had a complete set of blankets and rain sheets-all GONE. Rambo and baker When I asked the manager of this place, she told me that my horse didn't have any blankets. Two things are wrong with this; we have multiple boarders asserting the fact that they of course saw Ted blanketed in the winter and number two, the manager had a horse go through the winter with no blankets and didn't alert or ask his owner where his blankets were? I have sent a picture of ted in his blankets at this center that another hoarder sent and I received a reply of "you're a liar and you have no contract anyway!" The manager or woman who leases this place has not stepped foot on the property in over two months. If you need a place to board please contact Top Sail or Poplar Grover or Seabrook. I beg you
