As temperatures began to rise I wanted to capitalize on the opportunity to open up the windows to help bring fresh air into my home. To my dismay, the home also had multiple damaged/missing screens and crank handles. I started to research what it would cost to make the necessary upgrades to the windows so that I could allow a cross-breeze in my home which in turn will allow me to run the air conditioning less in the summer months. I was pleased to find a locally owned shop that was able to meet my need. Everything was completed professionally and in a timely manner. His reaction was an angry so what. When I pointed out the possible liability problem he just said he hated lawyers. I had no claim for injuries. When Lowe's claims department called I said that I had no damage to my house but calculated I lost about 1000 gallons of water and the gas to heat it. Just mentioning this minor loss triggered a hostile reaction. The AO Smith water heater works great. The plumber was very competent, fast and efficient. He had no customer service skills and it seems Lowe's claim department also needs further training. I made these issues clear to Lowes in a customer survey but they have not followed up after 3 weeks.

We rarely need to make returns, but we just had a recent instance of having to return 5 bags of polymeric sand because we decided to have the job done by a contractor. I saved the receipt and my husband went to the store to return the sand. It was a VERY UNPLEASANT experience to learn that there is a 90 day window on returns (with receipt) and NO EXCEPTIONS ARE GRANTED FOR A RESELLABLE ITEM such as polymeric sand! Needless to say, we have made our LAST purchase at Lowes and I will be sharing this VERY NEGATIVE experience EVERYWHERE I can.
