We added gutter guards at the same time as the roof and Jeff included them in the estimate with a clear explanation of how they work and what to expect. Crew installed everything in one day. Yes as a disabled Combat Veteran, I had help getting my roof done, yes while my roof was being done, my fiancées family bought a plane ticket (5 months prior) for me to visit her and I stayed in her home, her family paid every expense I was there...I only mention this because Jeff will tell you this as his defense as to why he ripped off my gutters without a formal agreement and than walked away from the job. I have had 2 other professional roofing companies come look at their work. Both have said this was a horrible job and it would never pass manufacturer's warranties....so be warned! read more

I've done two roofs with this company. I feel that their initial service and price were great. However, if you need them to address a warranty issue GOOD LUCK. They never even sent the warranty certificate for the 2nd roof install. Also, on my 2nd roof, they replaced the gutters and downspouts. I was told this was a separate crew and they left a huge mess. There were nails everywhere, razor blades throughout my yard, and they just threw their lunch trash in my yard. Who does that??? Their manager did come the next day and cleaned up the mess but it was ridiculous. Long story short -- there's better roofers out there. read more

We requested a metal roof with new spouting and facia. He took our deposit and then never started our roof for 5 months. Had a crew of one kid in his 20s with the kids wife and mom to help. It was a disaster. The job was horrific and I sent pictures to Jeff, the owner. He had to hire another subcontractor to come and fix the roof. The roof was 75% complete but it took a month to do!!! They never cleaned up, nails and screws all through the yard, driveway and even some in my neighbors driveway. The spouting leaks, water runs out over the spouting, down spouts have holes that rain water comes out, J Chanel missing, screws not screwed down on the roof. It has been a nightmare to get anyone to call you back, promises to come finish and never show. Unfortunately we wanted to support a local business and this has become our worse decision EVER! The new Forman told us to sue him on two different occasions. after paying the full amount and questioning when he will finish the small fixes, we were told "you are not a priority" We were told numerous times that he will "make things right". JB roofing replaced my roof several years ago. After some recent wicked weather, i noticed a small row of shingles had come loose. I placed a call to the company today and I was pleasantly surprised when they showed up 30 minutes later and immediately repaired the problem and even pulled some junk out of one of my gutters to make sure i didn't have any problems. I was so impressed with the service. considering it was Good Friday and a very busy season for them they exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend them. read more

We went with Mr. Bickle and his company, JB Roofing, as he gave us a good price and seemed very nice. We told the guy who did the estimate that we knew there were a couple places on our porch roof that would need new plywood. They came and did our roof and also our shed roof. They did not clean up after themselves, at all. On the shed roof, there were broken shingles and white grouting all over the roof and they also left a grout gun lay on top of the roof. We called and complained and they did come back and fix the shed roof, but they still left the grout gun lay on top of the roof. A few months later, we noticed the porch roof was leaking and my husband realized they did not put the new plywood where we asked them to. After several phone calls and several weeks they came back and fixed it, and again, left nails and black paper laying everywhere. We picked up nails for several days, but not before I ran over one where I normally park. I sent Mr. Bickle a letter with an invoice for my tire, requesting him to pay for it, and telling him how disappointed we were in his job. He never returned my call and has yet to pay for my tire. Mr. Bickle also did my 90-year-old father's roof, and it leaked down around his chimney into his breezeway. It took numerous phone calls to Mr. Bickle with him promising to get to it that week and they finally came and fixed the leak after several thunderstorms and hard rains. The paneling in my father's breezeway was ruined in one area. We were lucky enough to find a piece of this paneling that my father still had, and Mr. Bickle sent his main guy to come fix the area where there was water damage. The guy did a lousy job told me it had been a busy week. He didn't have a ladder with him. He didn't have hardly any tools with him to do the job. He broke a piece of crown molding and promised to come back and replace it. My father was so upset at the job he did. I included how upset we were with the job at my father's house in my letter, requesting payment for my tire. Again we never heard from Mr. Bickle. I have since talked to numerous people who have had roofing jobs done by JB roofing, and who have had problems with the job, and have had similar experiences. One person told me he called Mr. Bickle over 20 times and never received a return phone call! Do NOT use this company for your roofing needs! Hopefully this will save someone else from the headaches we had by using this company. read more

Hired them a few months ago to replace a torn off shingle. Cost a lot more than I expected. Was dissapointed in the crew that came out (2 young kids, left dozens of roofing nails in the yard, tried to leave without actually replacing the shingle). The replaced shingle blew off a few months later. Now they won't return my calls. Tried both their Bellefonte and State College number. Will probably need to hire a different roofer to fix their mistake. read more

We had JB Roofing install a new roof and new gutters. They gave a very good quote and finished on time. However, we have had some issues arise post finished project to which they say they guarantee thier workmanship for 5 years. We have called and emailed for the past 2 months trying to get them to follow up and return to fix the issues, to which we have had no response (about 10 calls and 10 emails distributed over 2 months). I could understand if they were extreemly busy, however it is not hard to follow up to let us know what's going on. We are now having to contemplate hiring another roofing contractor to fix the issues since JB Roofing has been so unreliable. Very very dissapointed it ended they way it did because the beginning was so promising. I do NOT recommended them. read more

They did not put in proper ventilation (other issues as well). The roof became wavy after about 10 years. Stay away from them.

Never finished the job, some shingles not nailed down. Repeated calls and e-mails went unanswered. No calls returned. Called both Bellefonte and State College numbers with the same results. read more
