Just adding another drop in the bucket- as you can see by the 39 reviews so far, Bob is a true OG when it comes to hair styling and barbery (is this a word? it is now). I have very unique (not in a good way) asian hair that likes to grow straight out and 90% of barbers struggle to figure out how to properly cut my hair for a clean finished product. Bob gave my hair a quick glance as I sat down in the chair and pointed this out, giving me confidence that he knew what he was doing. My hair was already full of gel as I have to use it to control my hair but he could see right through it and understood how to handle it immediately. I also hadn't gotten a haircut in three months - i usually go 4 weeks - and he could tell exactly how I liked my haircut without me even giving him the rundown. He told me his plan and quickly went to town, his fingers deftly working through my hair as I watched in awe. When he showed me the finished product, somehow I knew this was the most precise haircut I've ever gotten. I go to the local pros in my hometown (KCMO) but this was much better in a way I can't describe. Also went for the brow threading, which was equally on point. Let me preface this by saying, I'm a week from getting married. Why is this important? I wanted an awesome haircut for the what is likely the most photographed event of my life. Growing up near Chicago, I went to the same barber for years. A place where the guys took their time trimming your hair and treated you as a human. A place that mastered the straight razor and took pride in their craft. All this while being affordable. After seeking out recommendations, Bob's name came up a few times. I then turned to the Internet and everyone was singing his praises with 5 stars practically everywhere you turn. While I absolutely despise how yelp treats small businesses, I'm reviewing this because this is the best haircut I have ever had and Bob deserves all the business he can get. The best compliment I can give is my soon to be wife telling me I'm not allowed to go back to those chains. The places that treat you as cattle and try to lure you with gimmicks and low prices. I'm from Chicago where some of the best barbers in the midwest cut hair for dirt cheap. Since I moved to Peoria for school I've been going back to Chicago for haircuts once every few months. I was warned that barbers in Peoria will mess up even the most basic haircut then ask for $20. This was not the case whatsoever with Bob. I've seen him about five times since hearing about him in September. I just had my hair cut by him today and I'm now convinced it is impossible for the man to give a bad cut. The man has numerous medals and plaques in his store from hair cutting competitions around the world. He's been doing this since he was 12 in Lebanon and by 15 he owned his own barbershop there. He's more qualified to cut hair than anyone else within 50 miles of Peoria, coming from a kid that cares very much about his looks. I recommend you call and make an appointment, that way he doesn't feel rushed to finish if people are waiting. If you do have to wait however, there are free refreshments which is a super nice touch. My son Stephen lived in Peoria for several years and discovered Bob through a friend of his. I remember when he told me how good this guy was, because Stephen was so excited about finding him. I thought, "what's the big deal, it is only a hair cut"? So many things make Bob your new, must-have barber, but here are the top three. 1). You've never had anyone precision-cut your hair like this. He listens to your request, and delivers with a polish and accuracy that will make you self-conscious of every haircut you have ever had previous to him (sorry Mom). 2). Appointments are so easy to make, and it's as easy as sending a text. 3). He is so accommodating and flexible with scheduling. I work medical, and have had cancel after work appointments due to unforeseen emergencies related to work. I hate doing it last minute, but Bob is adaptive and immediately willing to problem solve a way to fit you into his already full schedule. In a short, Bob makes grooming-life that much easier. Having grown up in Peoria, I've been to several different barbers but Bob is easily the best and loves what he does. For reasonable prices Bob offers a professional styling experience in an old-time barber atmosphere. I was surprised at his speed with the scissors but mostly the finished look. Even with his many customers, He still remembers exactly how I like my hair. I recently heard Bob has won awards overseas for his barber skills which doesn't surprise me. Every one of my friends has continued to come back to Bob after their first experience. He is becoming well-known in the Peoria area and his cuts are distinguished. This barber shop is amazing. I was so sick of going to the typical chains and getting a mediocre haircut. I've always been someone who probably worries a little too much about what my hair looks like and I have never left Bob's feeling any less than extremely satisfied with my cut. I called to schedule my first haircut there and Bob was booked for the day so I scheduled my appointment with Sarah and have been going back to her ever since. She's extremely consistent and knows exactly how I like my hair to look. I highly recommend giving Sarah a call and you will not be disappointed by your fresh buzz or the conversation. Bob the barber's is great. It's run by a professional barber rather than an amateur "stylist" paying their way through school. The store owners livelihood is cutting hair. I could be wrong but it's the only place I know of in Peoria like that north of war memorial. If you want professional grade service and expertise at low prices - same or lower than any franchise I've been to - this is THE place to go in Peoria. I moved to Peoria from St. Louis in June and Bob was the first barber I went to. After having experienced $70 haircuts and $16 GreatClips cuts and everything in between, I'll be recommending Bob to all my male friends. He gives a great cut. No frills and shampoo only when requested, but he's quick, friendly and professional. I have cowlicks and many barbers do a terrible job. Visited Bob after my lifelong barber Dick retired in Kickapoo. I search for another barber in the area not a beauty shop or quick clip shop. I have been going to Bob for over a year now and I have been to both his Glen and campus town locations. Both locations are very nice and everyone that works there is incredibly friendly. I have only had my hair cut by Bob himself, but I have loved every hair cut I have gotten from him. Whether I show him a picture or describe what I want done, he always understands and cuts my hair how I would like it. He has very reasonable prices and it is a great experience every time I go. Bob is definitely the best barber I have been to. I have been going to him for around a year now, and I change my haircut quite frequently. He always understands exactly what I want for whatever hairstyle I get. I never worry with Bob because he always does a fantastic job. Best Barber I've ever used! Been going to this man since he first moved to Peoria. My first haircut with him was in his base and he made sure every detail of my hair was perfect.
