JJ O'Malley's is super quaint and old. The upstairs takes reservations and is quiet. A nice place for dinner. I had the beef special, and hubs ordered the fish stew. Both were good, but hubs enjoyed his fish more than I enjoyed my beef. I would definitely recommend dining here for the ambiance alone. A very special spot! read more

This has been one of the top restaurants on our trip, based on the taste of the food. It was sooo good. I got braised short ribs and my husband got the baked salmon. They both had a large amount of meat -and the potatoes were creamy. I highly recommend stopping here. Surprise hitter! Fantastic food for a pub. I got the fish chowder and prawn curry. The curry is amazing!! Never had anything like it, the broth is lighter than your typical American chowder and it's so rich and buttery and had a good amount of fish and veg. Pairs well with the brown bread and butter. The prawn curry was also fantastic! Sweet and flavorful and filled with prawns. The poppadom was crisp and salty and was a great textural contrast. read more

Upstairs is a nice place to have a relaxing dinner; downstairs is the typical pub scene with live music. I made reservations, and we ended up getting there a little earlier, and they were still able to sit us super-fast. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and helped my mom pick what she should order. My mom ordered the appetizer, mussels, and a side salad, and it was the perfect amount of food. She could not stop telling me how great the sauce on the mussels was. I was having a craving for a cheeseburger, and it was really good, and they even had a gluten-free bun for me to be able to enjoy the entire thing. I do have to say we did not order the fajitas, but they smelled SOOOOO good. If I were to go back, I would want to try them. read more

Traditional Irish pub on the ground floor and restaurant upstairs. Both recommended! Food was very good with terrific friendly service. In the pub, the band played traditional Irish music of high quality. Went in for a quick pint and were delighted by the ambiance of the pub and the background music playing but best of all was Annie who made our visit. She was kind to us California tourists and gave us insights into the area. Lovely. The other young man behind the bar was also very pleasant but did not get his name. Went later in the evening so probably missed the crowds. Was able to get a table easily. It did take some time to get our order placed.One of us has the blue cheeseburger which was actually two patty's but the obvious absence of blue cheese was a bit disappointing. The other had the mussels which were small in comparison to others we had but they were hot when they came to the table and the broth was very tasty. It took too long to get our bill as the waitress forgot to bring it to us. All in all it was just ok. read more

This place is great - We're from the US so this is a traditional irish pub and we were thrilled with our experience. The place is just what you'd hope it would look like - and the food was great. We actually came here twice on our trip. By far the best we had was the Rack of Irish Lamb - AMAZING! Dad had the chicken curry and also loved that! Very nice menu. Should have reservations but we got a 7:30 slot after walking in at 6:45 on a Thursday in mid September. 4 small prices of bread for two people. Good bread I had beef medallions. You are give a choose of 5 different sauces. I picked the red wine and I asked for a sample of the Mexican spicy sauce. The meat portion was about 3/4 of an inch thick and 5 inches in diameter. It was very tender and tasty. The sauces were about 2 oz each served on the side. The Mexican had very mild spice but was very tasty tomato based (guess). The wine was good also. My wife had surf and turf. She loved the prawns and the stake was good We ended with the Baileys cheesecake. It was tasty very light like the kind made with gelatin. The service was good. We had a 22 euro wine and each meal was about 22 euro so the total was 74 euro. Very nice and cozy room. read more

I ate here on Sunday. I had the Caesar salad which was good with crisp leaves of romaine and big chunks of bacon. It tasted good but wish anchovies would be on the salad for a proper Caesar. For the main I had the lamb chops. The lamb was cooked perfectly and tasted great. I would definitely come back here for a meal. If trying to get in on a Saturday I would recommend a reservation. We tried on Saturday around 7 pm and was told 9:30 was the earliest, so had to go elsewhere for Saturday dinner. read more
