That guy is Caleb Lavelle of Lavelle Construction out of Honesdale, Pa, serving clients in PA and NY. Caleb shows up for the bid. He kicks in some great ideas and cost-saving alternatives that make you wonder how a guy so young-looking can know so damn much! It's a thrill just to watch him pitch a bid! Then, in 48 hours, I have the paperwork, complete with some alternatives that let me push and pull the deal to my exact needs, time and money. Then - and here's the best part for any contractor in upstate NY - Caleb SHOWS UP - often when I'm not there - always with the right crew, tools and supplies and, DAMN! He gets the job done. The first task was helping me to decide if I should restore and old 1950s garage, or demolish it because it had a faulty foundation.. We went with demolish. But Caleb INCLUDED the foundation restoration, moving 3 cords of cut logs from the garage to my house's back porch, sorting of recycled timbers, and removal of all debris - WHILE I WAS AWAY. I'm so happy, I'm looking around for something else for him to do! (Now what WAS it, that I was putting off for three years - Oh yeah, some floor joists!)
