Service was outstanding, any questions or issues were addressed immediately and with professionalism. We did have a delay due to needing to order more materials, and Jeff communicated the entire way through the process. He has been also very willing to fix anything that has come up after the fact. The whole process was easy, thanks to Jeff. He was very knowledgeable and really cared that we got our carpet installed right. The install team was very respectful and definitely took their time to make sure it was perfect (no rush jobs here!). They even vacuumed afterward! I contacted this company to fix a flooring issue I had. He was responsive and friendly. It took a couple of days to schedule but he told me what materials I needed to purchase and gave me a quote, which seemed reasonable. His team came a few days later, knocked out the job in less than an hour, cleaned up after themselves and showed me the finished product. I was please. A few days later, the materials they laid started to rise so I reached out to the owner and that's where the issues began. He said the glue I purchased wasn't that great and to purchase something else. Mind you I bought the glue he told me to buy! He wasn't very responsive at all. When he did respond, it was short and not as friendly. He kept saying he would reach out to his team and get back with me but he would never follow up. I finally went to his store, he gave me the runaround again. A couple of days later, with no notice, a member of his team called me to say he was on his way to do the work. He completed the job and all was well. But I didn't like the second interaction at all. After they did the work the first time and were paid, I seemed to be more of a bother than a customer. EXCELLENT quality, materials, and service! I was just looking up J-Lan flooring as we're planning our next small project and saw the review below. I had to relay my experience because I think the situation below was a TOTAL anomaly, as you can see from Google reviews of J-Lan Flooring (4.8 star rating). We have actually used J-Lan for the past 4 years for a total of 5 projects. We were so happy with that first kitchen tile project that we called him again when we moved to put flooring in a section of our farm-house major fixer-upper. The floors Jeff put in were absolutely beautiful. Then we tackled a bathroom remodel and had him tile the bathroom floor and then the shower, again ... absolutely beautiful. Next, we remodeled a 2nd bathroom and the floor and tile turned out just as amazing. We're now starting to plan the next phase of updating, which will be more flooring to match the rest of the house. At some point, he'll do the kitchen floor and backsplash tile too. Each of these have been "small" projects and were treated just as if they were major, big-money jobs. Every. Single. Time we've worked with Jeff and his installers, we've been completely happy--with how much he cares about the quality of the job, the finished product, and with the installers too. Jeff did tell us that with our most recent project, there was a new crew that he had recently hired and vetted for quality. He mentioned that he had to replace a prior crew because they failed to meet his standard. I know it can be very difficult to find quality contractors, but I also know Jeff stands by his work and ensures a good outcome. The contractors that completed all of our jobs were friendly, worked diligently, and did an excellent job. We felt very safe with them in our home and it was a joy to have their company. They even joined us for lunch. Anyway, that's been our experience for 5 "small projects," and we'll be using J-Lan for all the rest. read more

The owner will do whatever he can to avoid fixing problems. They charged $3500 to install a wood floor and when there were issues discovered, he came back one time but then dropped the ball and lied to me more than once about needing to order supplies. It has been over a year now and the issues are still not fixed. He is very disrespectful and spoke to me as if i were a child when he was obviously wrong. They ripped off the baseboards without asking me and then sloppily stapled them back on. Would not listen to me from the beginning. Installed t-moldings incorrectly and lied to me about "they are not supposed to match". Glue all over the wood floor; t moldings backwards. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Have the credit card company reverse the charges until he gets it right. read more

I don't like leaving reviews that are completely bad. I feel that even in a bad situation not every single thing can be horrible. although my personal experience was very bad I will say that Mr. Lan seems like a nice person. He seemed genuinely concerned with the issues we had with our flooring installation. not concerned enough to correct them but still. we wanted to have wood look ceramic tile in our Livingroom and hallway. we were told by Mr. Lan that it was a two and a half day job. he charged us $5500. we paid half up front. the two guys that came to lay our floor spoke no English. he told us as much but said the foreman would be able to speak English but there was no foreman. it was a very dirty install. trash all over, broken pieces of tile all over my garage and yard. I assumed it would all be cleaned up. at the end of the second day the quality control man Mike came out. he found several issues and told the layers to correct the issues. when the floor was done it was terrible. we found about 30 chips in the tile. we had quickcrete all over our house, on door trim, all over the driveway, the rear of my truck, inside my a/c vents. the tile guys also piled trash up against my motorcycle and scratched the exhaust. we contacted Mr. Lan who came out and looked. he agreed it was bad and said he would send a person out to clean it all up. a few days later a guy did come and clean up most of the quickcrete. it was never cleaned to my satisfaction. they were unable to remove it from my new ac vents. we asked when the floor would be fixed. he acted like he didn't know it needed work. my wife and I went over every inch of the floor and marked the broken tiles with tape. we needed 27 tiles replaced. he sent a kid out to replace them. the kid was actually great. he looked over the floor and said it was the worst job he had ever seen. he replaced the 27 tiles but found about 7 more that were bad. we didn't have any more tiles and had to wait for over a week for the remaining tiles. when the tiles were replaced we asked Mr. Lan about our grout. we asked for dark grey grout but the grout was white. it looked terrible. the flooring kid suggested that the job be ripped up and redone correctly. Mr. Lan refused and said he could dye the grout. he came over and spent about 3 hours rubbing dye into the grout. what we ended up with was uneven color on the grout and the dye got on every single tile. we asked Mr. Lan about the grout and the stain on the tile. He refused to clean up the stain. instead he told us what cleaner we should get to clean up all of the stain. it took my wife and I about three weeks of cleaning to get an acceptable amount of the stain off. the floor is still stained. when the light hits the floor just right you can see stain all over the tiles. sadly what should have been a great experience for us was terrible. we never got the "AWWW" moment when we saw our new floor. this three day job ended up going on for over a month. we were also constantly told that all of Mr. Lans good floor people couldn't come help us because he had a big fancy job that he was using his "A team" on. hearing over and over that he was currently working on a 10,000sq/ft job when he couldn't get my less than 600sq/ft job right was annoying and insulting. in the end I not only refused to pay the remainder of the bill but asked to have a large portion of what I had already paid returned to me. Mr. Lan refused to return any of my money but agreed I shouldn't have to pay the remainder. he also agreed to send us a box of replacement tiles but we never received that. if you need a nice floor that you can love I suggest you pass on J-Lan flooring. read more
