Time for yet another update…read more Brief background - I've been coming here on and off since 2014 for laser hair removal, mole removals, laser skin treatments, and facials. Dr. Lopes removed some moles for me a few years ago and my results were amazing. No scars and I had one on my chin that you would literally never know was there! It was expensive - something like $100 a mole and I had 9 removed - insurance will not pay for anything here bc it's all cosmetic. I've heard all good things about her and her skills in plastic surgery. I don't know that I'll ever go there, but, good to know she's here if I do want to. I had laser hair removal here years ago with Maggie and, bc of my sensitive skin and some scars on my legs, I had to do lower power on the laser and more treatments. I paid over $4000 for the treatments and Maggie modified it for me as needed to suit my skin. I appreciated this and never forgot it. I was initially given a quote good for 6 months when discussing the laser hair removal so I could leave and think on the investment. Now, when I went back to see Rachel last year - no quotes, just her assessment in the exam room quickly, and it felt like she was just making it up off the top of her head. I didn't think that was as professional as the process in the past. I want to be given an exam and a quote sheet I can take with me so we're all on the same page. I spent about $1000-1200 on some touch-ups and some vascular issues and had an issue with a "follow-up" that I was charged for when I was under the impression it was included in my price since I was being brought in to review the results. No quotes given either - you have to remember and hope she remembered what she said it would be. What? After Maggie retired they did bring in another esthetician for a while also but she's no longer there and my future appointments were cancelled. I believe they have not replaced her and no longer offer facials bc no one has ever called to reschedule and this was over 6 months ago. She was also shady about prices and there were no prices listed the first few times I went and she kept "offering" other things to do or recommended I "needed" but you had no idea what it would cost and some of those things were $90-150 each! If I had said yes to everything - I'd have easily spent $450. Shady. Rain, the office manager, is kind and worked with me to resolve the issue I had with the follow-up mentioned above. The front desk staff are sweet. I just don't appreciate when we're talking about this kind of money, feeling like the prices aren't set - they're made up on the spot. Something about that rubs me entirely the wrong way and makes me pause on coming here for anymore laser follow-up and treatments.

Trust me, when you find your "Botox Master", you will be AMAZED at the results and you won't ever want anyone else doing your botox again. My search here in Virginia has led me to experience some bad results. Thus, I decided to find a place where the DOCTOR actually does the administering. This was harder than I thought! I finally found Dr. Guarda and made an appointment. The office was very beautiful and the entire staff were all wonderful, polite and very professional. Dr. Guarda spent a lot of time with me discussing my past botox experiences from what went wrong to what I loved. She is one of few, that believes in the conservative approach. She would rather inject less botox, wait for the results and then have you return if you need more rather than do too much, and have the client left with bad results for months. I loved this about her and agreed! I've have experienced droopy eyelid several times here in Virginia from estheticians doing too much botox, so I really prefer to do less botox up front and then tweak it later with more if needed. Dr. Guarda was never pushy and didn't try to sell me a bunch of products and or services irrelevant to the reason I was there. She just addressed my botox concerns and worked her magic. She did draw up the botox directly in front of me - which I highly recommend to anyone getting botox! You have a right to know you are getting the Botox you are paying for and not the cheaper form. There were no ice packs before/during/after treatment. However, her injections were gentle and I didn't experience any swelling, discomfort or bruising.

I'm writing this review one month post-operatively regarding Dr. Joe Niamtu's work and staff. For…read morethe record, mine was a 4.5 hour procedure under full-anesthesia and included upper and lower blepharoplasty, face lift, neck lift, chin implant, and full CO2 laser resurfacing. Not a small undertaking. Although additional enhancement procedures such as cheek implants and a lip-lift were options offered, none were pushed on me and I chose not to add either. A child of the hippie and feminist era, I never thought I would consider such a denial of my authentic self! I started my dialog with the staff in May of 2025, put money down in June, with a surgical date established in September of 2025. Though living far from Richmond, I had done my research prior to scheduling and was reassured that I had selected the right surgeon by the website, testimonials, and video tutorials of Dr. Niamtu which thoroughly prepared me for what was to happen. That being said, I had LOTS of questions before and after. Dr. Niamtu has addressed all of them with understanding and patience. If questions concerned other members of his staff, such as the anesthesiologist or the surgical nurse, he had them contact me directly. In the preoperative appointment, he and I went over the results I expected, and he clarified exactly what could and could not be done. Despite the understandable anxiety of going under the knife, he and his staff made me feel safe and every concern was attended to before and in the post-operative weeks that I was in the area. I wondered if after I left I would get the same responsiveness from them, figuring that once the car is bought and paid for, the dealer takes his money and runs, but that is hardly the case with Dr. Niamtu. My concerns during the healing process continue to be addressed. Being from out of town, I chose to stay in the Richmond area a full two weeks after the surgery. I wisely chose Susanne Singer as my caretaker. I would have stayed longer if Dr. Niamtu had indicated it was necessary, but he gave me the green light to get on the plane at the 2-week point. Surgical nurse, Breeden Browning, was excellent for her skill, but also when I talked to her woman-to-woman about how to maintain my results going forward. I am still healing, but I got just what I wanted, a younger version of me. I had had a good run as a somewhat attractive woman for many years, but at 75 could no longer enjoy what I saw in the mirror. This surgery ensures my last years will be celebrating what I see there. I look like my 55-year-old self, which wasn't bad at all! Can't thank everyone-surgeon, surgical nurses, anesthesiologist, and admin staff enough. My appointment was this recent Friday afternoon following my 6 month follow-up back in January. Let's not hold the suspense as to how it went shall we? After giving urine samples and vitals checked, Dr. Robeson came in with his usual smile. We talked for a bit regarding our recent health stauses and did physical checks.
