This is a barber shop, not a hair salon, or any other new age establishment. They do a great job cutting hair, they are professional, and they have sports on the numerous TVs (Man U vs Barcelona). I get there right on time for my appointment yesterday (Tuesday) and couldn't figure out if I was in the right place so I called her. She sounds confused and surprised; when I explain who I am, she says, "Oh, I had you down for Wednesday. I'm not there right now." She was super apologetic though, said it had never happened before, she felt terrible for making me drive all the way there, she was going to give me a discount, etc. I looked at my calendar and told her I could get there by 5:30 the next day (today, Wednesday). She said she had someone else at that time, could I come at 6? I said sure, even better. Then she said wait no, 5:30 is good, or just come when you're done with your call and I'll wait for you. OK, cool. So I'm leaving my house at 5:30 today and decide to text her and let her know I'm on my way and will be there in 20 minutes. I've only gotten about a mile when she texts back and says she can't wait that long, she has to pick her daughter up at 6:30, sorry. But wait--didn't you tell me yesterday to come at 6 or whenever I was done?! Did you not know yesterday you had to pick up your kid at 6:30? And if you didn't, why not let me know when you found out today so I wouldn't have gotten in the car again? I'm just glad I thought to text on my way out today--if I had driven all the way there again and then had to come back in rush hour traffic AGAIN without having gotten done what I was going to do... I'm sure she's a very nice person and great at waxing, but I will never find out because I just can't keep wasting my time when she apparently can't keep track of her own schedule. From what I've read, it has more of an old school barbershop feel, but with the ability to do more modern haircuts as well. I figured I'd give it a try since I wanted a classic side parted haircut with a bit more length on the sides and back of my head, and I had a feeling that Woody's would be a good place to get that sort of look. The inside is relatively small and very much like a home, it's not flashy but it has a comfortable feeling to it. Also, I didn't have to wait since it was on a Wednesday afternoon, so I don't know how it normally is on busier days or times when going as a walk-in. The barber I had was Twila (sorry if I spelled your name wrong!) and she is definitely skilled at her craft since my hair is not the easiest to deal with (it's the type of hair that sticks up when cut). She explained to me very well what she would do to achieve my hairstyle, and was very charismatic and awesome when it came to talking pretty much about anything. Also, the price was more than fair as I paid $13 for the cut but definitely left a tip because I usually pay around $20 at other barbershops around the area. Overall, I got a great haircut and I had a good time with the barbers there, I'll definitely be back again!
