Review Visit: March 11th, 2015…read more Do you love board games? Magic the Gathering? Puzzles? Then this place is Just For You! Just For Fun has just about every board game you can think of. With the exception of the mass produced ones (Candy Land, Chutes and Ladders, etc). If you are looking for it, they probably have it. They have shelves and shelves and shelves full of games. They have a huge stash behind the registers. They have stuff on the counter. If you can't find a board game in here that interests you, then you probably are not really into board games. They also offer your usual Magic: the Gathering offerings. Cards, sleeves, decks, pre-releases, etc. Their prices are fair on those, except they charge more for the Magic pre-releases. Why? Probably because they can and people pay it. Also offered are odds and ends. Dice. Playmats. Those figures you paint and then set up battles for (sorry, I don't know the technical name for that). Board Game night on Thursday, last I knew. They have casual gaming areas where I think you can just come in with your friends, snag a table and play. Overall, a great store for the Peoria area. Staff has been wonderful pretty much every time I've been in there though. Since their initial opening, they have moved locations several times. Hopefully their current spot is home to them for a long time. Their rating would be a bit higher, but overcharging for Magic pre-releases irks me more than it should. That aside, a great gaming store that Peoria needed. I will try to snap a few photos the next time I am in there and update this post when I do.

The folks at the counter are knowledgeable and can help you find games or recommend a game if you're not quite sure what you're looking for. The prices are pretty standard; they're not offering sales that I've seen, but they're also not marking stuff way above retail either. As someone who prefers to browse shelves and look at the games in order to make my board game purchases, I haven't found a better store for that anywhere. I can easily spend 2+ hours browsing the aisles, sitting on the floor to examine a game and read reviews on BoardGameGeek, and I've never been bothered for it. They also have a selection of games you can just play, if you're looking to kill some time or test something out before considering a purchase. There's a limited selection of used games for sale at a discount; you may find something cool there or maybe not, it depends on when you go. They have an okay selection of dice, miniatures, and RPG books. I've seen gaming stores with a better selection in that category, but they don't have the board game selection that Just For Fun does. I know this store does events (Magic, other card games, board games, etc.) but I live almost an hour away so I have never come in for those. Still, I know every time I come in that I'm going to be leaving with several new games, and a smile on my face. I'm very thankful this place exists!

When I arrived at the store I was amazed at how many RC cars, trucks, airplanes and drones they had in the store. The staff was AMAZING. They were extremely friendly and helpful.They were able to get my truck started within a few minutes. They even gave me pointers and advice on what to do and how to break in the engine and tune it afterwards. THEY EVEN HAVE A SICK COURSE IN THE BACK OF THE SHOP!!! This is my new favorite hobby store. It's got a wide variety of items. I popped in on a Saturday evening and perused the shop. There are so many unique items, all priced appropriately. I was impressed to overhear a regular customer pop in and chat with the staff. There is definitely a sense of community at this shop. My daughter saw a daffodil Lego set and was thrilled have it purchased for her. (You're welcome.) It's cool that they have board game night (Thursdays) and that you can come play a board game yourself anytime during the day. On the same note-- if you have an old board game you can sell it here. You can now sell your used games in our store. To do this simply follow these few steps. You set the price and once it is sold you get 80% of that price as store credit. The coolest thing about The Hobby Corner is that they will order anything for you if you can't find it in the store-- at NO additional cost!

But i cant think of a more obvious "screw you" and self-centered attitude, which advertised that their ignorance or arrogance outweighed customer safety or comfort. They made their political statement, so whoopie! for them. I wont support that crappy attitude toward customers (most arent in the Cult).

I partake in Magic pre-releases here. I have been coming here for a long time, actually. Back when I first got into Magic and his store was located in Creve Coeur, IL. Moving on. The Zone offers a wide variety of products. From comics, posters, figures/toys, trading cards (singles and sealed), Ultra Pro products, sleeves, and other odds/ends. I have played 3 Magic pre-releases there (so far) and the store owner, Scott, has been great at hosting it each time. He even helped me set up my DCI account right before the pre-release tournament was about to start. You can pretty much throw any random question at Scott and he will have some knowledge about it and can help you out. Overall, a great store to visit if you need your Magic/comics/toys fix. Plus, Maurie's Candies is right across the street! :3

They had some amazing deals on many frames and there is a huge selection. The frame department is well laid out, neat, and orderly....I find sometimes the Frame section or dept of a store can be clutter and disorganized, opened/damaged frames ,etc... not the case here. I picked up three Med/Med-Lg sized frames by Studio Decor, one of the better frame makers on the market: one was buy one (in this case a $40 frame) get one free, so there's $40 saved right there. The other frame was 1/2 off, another $40 frame. $20 savings for a total of $60, nice. They had tons of Christmas stuff on clearance, obvi, where you take up to 75% on many things. I got a large candle ($15) for $2.
