We had agreed upon a fee (IN WRITING) prior to the services being performed. Our accountant, Scott, made several errors to the return, which luckily I caught prior to filing. Once the return was finally error-free, we filed and about a month later, we received an invoice for over THREE TIMES the agreed upon price!! Apparently we are being charged for the extra time it took for our accountant to fix HIS MISTAKES!! We are currently disputing the excess charges with the firm but they are threatening to send us to collections over this matter. Please don't get into this same mess that we are in with them - it has been months of going back and forth with them trying to resolve this issue fairly for the amount we agreed to pay in the first place. I would strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere to a more ethical firm!!

Might have taken them 20 minutes ... and what a deal, over $300! That was a bitter pill but it's not the worst part. They told me I am eligible to get $100 credit for paying child support. I received a letter from the IRS saying I do not qualify for that credit. I've contacted the office, but they insist I make an appointment. They have 2 open appointments available over the next 7 days. I try to schedule the following week, but they won't schedule anything because "they don't know what their schedule will be". What?! Are you running a business? How can you NOT know if you'll have an appointment available in 9 days? I've learned my lesson. I won't be returning to H&R Block. And I will be sharing my poor experience with my friends and associates.
