I'm SO glad Jackson Junge Gallery is next door to Oiistar. While we waited for a table we visited the gallery. The place is bursting at the seams with beautiful works of art. I was attracted to their current exhibit, Ten by Ten... over 300 works of art all in a 10 x 10 format. Kaitlyn was super helpful and took plenty of time to explain the exhibit. She also mentioned all the pieces were available online. We looked and looked and looked. We found a few pieces we liked, but the prices seemed out of our price range. We liked one that was affordable, but we didn't love it. When we were called for our table next door, we didn't think we'd get to come back before the gallery closed, but that wasn't the case. We were excited to be able to come back in for another view. Here's the thing. I am more likely to spend money online than I am in person. I suppose it makes no sense, but as soon as we got back to the hotel I checked out the art online and ended up buying the piece we both loved and decided (in the gallery) that it was simply too expensive. Hmm, I suppose it wasn't too expensive after all. We would have had any art purchased shipped to us even if we had purchased it in the gallery. Ordering it online was no different. We can't wait for it to arrive. read more

We attended the "Ten by Ten" art exhibit opening at the Jackson Junge Gallery on November 7, 2025. It is a fun show that involves about 300 artists, who produced artworks that measure 10" x 10" each with different media. The styles cannot be more different from each other. If you are an artist, this would be a good chance to get inspired. If you are a patron, this is a compact exhibit with so many artworks in very reasonable prices. The show runs through January 11, 2026. The gallery is about 3,500 sq. feet. On a normal day, it would be airy and modern, providing a tranquil environment for patrons or any walk in to appreciate the art. However, with about 300 artists, who also invited their friends and relatives to the show opening, it was loud and very crowded, and was even chaotic at times. The "Ten by Ten" show took up about ¼ to 1/3 of the space, causing attendees to congregate in that small area. With the opening running from 6:00 pm to 10 pm, we arrived around 8:30 pm, it was still jam-packed with people. There was a bar station close to the entrance, with white wine, cranberry juice (or some fruit juice), and water available. There was a sign suggesting a $2 donation for each of the beverages. Pop corn was free and self-served, that attracted some pop-corn lovers. I accidentally saw stacks and stacks of 10" x 10" art work on a table in the back room that were still not hanged. Apparently, if an artist has more than one piece of art chosen for the show, he/she would only get one piece of art displayed at a time. It is only after his/her first piece of art is sold that the second piece would be displayed. Some artists only had one piece of art in the show, after their art had been sold, there's an empty spot on the wall. I also saw three pieces of artwork like a set in display, and also two similar artworks in the exact style being displayed at the same time. Their system seems to be flawed and unfair to some of the artists. Expect to use street parking as the gallery does not have a parking lot or garage. All-in-all, it was a fun night to the artists and the people whom they invited. There's a group of 5 to 6 friends who all wore a green beret to support their artist, who had a green beret in the little self-sculpture that he made. Fun! read more

The exhibit was called On a Sheet of Ice, a Flower, by Crystal Hartman. We don't live anywhere in the area but wanted to check out this gallery. I feel like I came here with a friend years ago. We missed a few events recently and wanted to see what was what. They sell other art here too, (prints, wall art, etc.) we got a cute pair of earrings. Like many openings, there were libations, but this one had a donation suggestion, with Venmo! We chatted with the artist for a bit, which can add to the experience. Since I have not purchased or invested in art from here, I will go with 4 stars for now. read more

I had a print that I needed to frame and hang but was not sure where I can get it done. I've drove past Jackson Junge a few times and never knew that offer custom framing. I sent a request to JJG and had an idea on how I wanted the framing to look like. I submitted some generic info such as sizing and dimensions. I got a quick response back from Ms. Miller (Kaitlyn). the quote was reasonable but she wanted to make sure I bring in the art to really show me what it will look like. Following week, I brought in the print, her team was able to match up the mats and frame I needed. I was able to use the Groupon which reduced the price which made this project a really great deal. I would highly recommend Jackson Junge Gallery to everyone who wants their favorite arts to be showcased. They also have great selections of art for sale also. read more

So, far this is one of my favorite galleries to visit. I highly recommend this place to come and see some creative and beautiful paintings. The staff is always welcoming and attentive to their customers. They don't mind you walking around at your leisure and enjoying the beauty of the paintings. There is absolutely no pressure to purchase. A very nice colorful art gallery filled with contemporary artwork. A private party room. The gallery is located in Chicago's Wicker Park area. Parking Meters along the street. It's cool because the general public can stop in for a visit (Free) seven days a week. It's always nice that JJ Gallery has free events where you can come meet and mingle with local artists. At the events you can meet the owners Chicago artist Laura Lee Junge and Chris Jackson. Been waiting forever to find a good, reputable, yet affordable place to get a canvas stretched. I ordered a piece of etsy, it came from greece, and was pre-marked for wood/beam sizing. When I brought it in, she immediately saw that there was a defect in my print, its a SF skyline and the bridge is on one end, and the pre-marked areas cut part of the bridge off... so lame. Anyways, so The girl at JJG was skilled and told me she could make it as thick as possible, as that was what I was going for for a 3D type canvas and save the bridge, because she got what I wanted. She said it would take 2-3 weeks because its busy season being peak of summer and I got it back in 1.5! So excited, its gorgeous, its perfect and they did an amazing job for a great affordable rate. This is probably one of the funnest galleries in Chicago. A wide variety of artists working various media. The art shown tends to be symbolist and fantasy surrealism. The gallery doubles as an event space, and it's not uncommon for two things going at once. There's also a side business of framing, though I haven't had anything framed here yet. read more

Let me preface this by saying I've never actually purchased anything here. But this gallery enabled me to discover Kate Hoyer - the artist that paints dogs in rainbow colors. As a huge dog lover, I fell in love with her work many years ago thanks to this gallery. For a gift one year my husband had a custom painting of our bulldogs done by Kate. She has subsequently used one of my bulldogs as a 'model' and his painting is prominently displayed in the front window. It makes me smile every time I come by and enables his memory live on. The first time we came by to see it, the staff was asking us about Tater and were so friendly and shared all of the praise his painting has received. Outside of Kate's work, this gallery has some really special and unique work that everyone, no matter their taste, can find something they love. read more

I attended a charity event at Jackson Junge. They did a great job of hosting the event and what an awesome space with a large array of artwork to pursue and purchase! At the event, I purchased a piece of jewelry (amazing price for such a beautiful design). The piece broke during my first use, but it is a VERY delicate little thing. I contacted the gallery thinking it would be a long shot for them to help me replace or fix the item, but they were very helpful and accommodating. I brought the piece in and they had it fixed by the artist, free of charge, and returned within a week or so. The coveted 5 stars goes to Jackson Junge without a doubt. read more

Jackson Junge Gallery was one of the places we had on our list to visit for a pre-prom event. Clearly, I was told that May 18th was available with no pending events. However, after visiting the gallery today, Kaitlyn wasted no time to send us an email, stating, the gallery had a pending customer who ironically called to confirm their date right after we left. On a side note, the gallery itself was beautiful and I will say that Kaitlyn was professional. However, after the fact, my son said he noticed, how another employee on site, watch us for about 20 seconds before leaving. We did have two grade schooler who was just fascinated with the work, and even asked a couple questions. They walked around the gallery respectfully, and never once touched anything. As much as I would like to say that I'm puzzled or confused about what happened, unfortunately, I cannot! Beautiful gallery with very nice staff. I was fortunate to see many Audry Cramblit pieces of sculpture here - highly recommend her work and her courses at Palette & Chisel. I will definitely return to see what other sculptors they put on display - hopefully they expand to include more 3D. Awesome selection of paintings as well. read more

I bought an amazing piece I really love at this gallery called "Synchronicity". But over and above the great art and great custom framing, I love this gallery as they are just great neighbors and member of the community. I bought another piece of art at another gallery about 5 years ago that had a defect. I was trying to send it back to them and there was a very involved process of removing the art from the frame. I brought the piece to Jackson Junge, and the owner Chris, happily helped me out even though this was not his piece. He would not accept payment. Chis is a standup guy and Jackson Junge is a neighborhood treasure. Also, make sure to check out their showings/parties as they are always well attended and are lots of fun. read more

We had our wedding at Jackson Junge and had the best night of our lives. Chris, Sam, and Scott were incredible throughout the process, checking in with us and helping us at every turn. They were super accommodating with our vendors, our decor, and our use of the space, even letting us do a rehearsal the night before without having to rent the space for it. They are also INCREDIBLY reasonably priced and really easy to get to for any event. I cannot recommend them highly enough. They were incredible and made our day so special. We also love the art in the gallery - always really cool and supportive of local artists. Additional bonus that they have stuff in all kinds of price ranges so you don't have to waltz in with a couple thousand just to start looking, if that's not your budget. read more

Our favorite studio in the city!!! We absolutely cannot wait to get our two new pieces into our house. We have always LOVED the pieces here and we finally splurged and bought 2! Kaitlyn was awesome! I absolutely love this place. Chris Jackson and his wife (Laura) are perhaps two of the kindest people I have met. The gallery is gorgeous. And the prices are actually quite approachable for the common person. My wife and I bought three pieces from Laura Jung's collection. Before we had even committed to buying one very large piece, Chris offered to bring the piece to our home just to help us evaluate how it looks in our intended space. This was no small feat considering the size of the art. Chris was extremely patient, kind and helpful with my wife and I as we hemmed and hawed over choosing a frame for our second painting. The custom frame was crafted with perfection. Expertly done. We love it. A third (smaller) art piece, I already had a frame /mat that I was looking to use. I brought the frame / mat into the gallery just to see if I could find a print that would work. I found an excellent one. At absolutely no charge, Chris spent his time framing the print using the materials I had brought to him. I didn't ask for this, Chris just volunteered because that is who he is. Most of the larger pieces you see displayed in the front can actually be found in various sized (and very affordable) high-quality prints / giclees once you explore the gallery. Oh yeah, one more thing...the framing prices are comparable (or better) than JoAnn Fabrics. Yet with this gallery, you get the craftsmanship and attention of a proud husband and gallery owner who takes his time to frame his wife's work (and the work of the other artists) with love and attention to detail. The selection and quality of the available frames are fantastic. This was a wonderful experience for my wife and I. Thank you, Chris and Laura. I wish you guys every success. You're great. read more

First and foremost: They do have a beautiful gallery and if you're going there to get a _picture_ framed, I wouldn't steer you away. They're nice people who do a good job with that. As someone who appreciates art - their gallery is really nice and I don't want to take that away from them. My 2 star review covers my personal experience with framing something that may have simply been a bit out of their wheelhouse. I got a deal (LivingSocial, I believe) for framing with them, and I wanted a hockey jersey framed. I had read up on them before buying the voucher and had read a mention or two of jerseys so I thought I'd give it a shot. I am the sort of person who has a difficult time sending food back if it's prepared wrong, etc - I'm nonconfrontational to a fault... but a signed jersey to me is a big centerpiece that I care about having done right - so when I got my jersey back and I was pretty disappointed, I actually said something about it. It was rather sloppily framed, asymmetrical (one sleeve was pinned higher than the other, etc)... Upon bringing it back, they were very nice and said they'd redo it for me free of charge and wanted to make sure I was satisfied. Cool - I'm not impatient to get it back, I just want it done right. Even upon getting it back, although it was better, it was not "well done". In conclusion: I would not recommend them for a jersey, but for framing photos, artwork etc - they would certainly do a fine job. Fun local gallery, great selection of local artists and beautiful features.

We had our wedding and cocktail reception here in July and had a fantastic experience from the planning stage to the big day itself. The space is beautiful and our guests had a great time. Kaitlyn was wonderful to work with, as was Chris. They were flexible, kind, and even pitched in to help us move some items back to our car the day after our wedding! They even went the extra mile to help us plan around a street festival that was happening on Milwaukee during our wedding. We highly recommend JJ Gallery as an event space. read more

This place is so welcoming and has fantastic service! I recently needed a simple frame for a print I was giving to friend. The owner, Chris Jackson, was very thoughtful and patient in helping me select the perfect matte and frame for my print as well as my budget. They have a huge selection to choose from and the turn-around was really quick! I will definitely go back to J2 Gallery for all of my framing needs as well as to check out their many artists' exhibits. Laura Junge's paintings elegantly infuse the space with warmth and color.
