In my opinion the doors were never installed correctly. I have asked repeatedly for someone to come out and look at the issues I have with the installation and have had no luck. Last week one of the doors snapped a cable and caused the door to almost come crashing down on top of someone. These doors are 2" thick, 12'x12' and 14'x16' steel panel doors. The one that failed was 12' x12' and most likely would've killed the person or seriously injured them. In my 30 plus years, I have never seen a cable break on any overhead door, for any reason. When I spoke to the Owner (Godo) his reply was the hadn't seen that either. When asked again for someone to come out and look at the doors he sent me an invoice for over $1,500.00 to send someone out. These doors were installed one year and four days ago. I am still trying to rectify the situation. I am running out of non-litigious options. Any advice would be appreciated. I have reached out to Clopay and was told that they are only able to help with the product and not the installation. I would highly recommend that you look elsewhere for your garage door needs.
