My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights while in town to tour Antietam Battlefield. This is an absolutely darling Inn. Beautifully decorated, lovely room that was pristinely clean and up kept. Rooms have doors directly out to back porch sitting area. Perfectly located to walk to the local establishments, a 1-mile drive to the battlefield and 4 miles to Shepardstown restaurants. Chris and Amy (and their pups) are wonderful hosts. Breakfast each morning was delightful. Delicious homemade food! And they provide coffee, tea, water, ice, snacks out for guests. Be sure to visit the basement gift shop before you leave. Chris also answered all our history questions and is extremely knowledgeable. We would definitely stay here again.

After getting to know what we wanted he recommended a room (the Edmonds suite) for us that was absolutely wonderful! When we arrived we spoke in person and he had a GREAT recommendation for dinner - The Press Room. Even though it was a MONDAY, he thought we should get reservations. I'm so HAPPY we followed his advice! The meal was wonderful and the ambiance great. (We also enjoyed his next recommendation- Bistro 112, for our Anniversary dinner) Then we met Miriam (another great conversation), and Hamish (the FRIENDLY dog). Over the next two mornings we ate a delicious breakfast with so much great food we skipped lunch both days! What a great visit! (I bet we stay again sometime)

This B&B is located right in the heart of Harper's Ferry, giving walking access to stores, restaurants, and historic sights. Come for the railfanning, stay for the history…read more I first learned about Harpers Ferry, WV while sourcing stock footage for work. I came across the same clip in a rail safety ad, which made me look up directions to Harpers Ferry from DC. The historic park/town is served by the very MARC trains that pass outside my DC window each afternoon. You can describe Harpers Ferry as *deceptively* close because it's a 90 minute train ride, with planes flying into Dulles close enough to make out the airline. Looking for hotels there, Stonehouse Bed & Breakfast was the first that came up, with great reviews. Chris was very helpful and responsive via text and email. I booked the Top Room, which was $170 for a night including taxes. The quaint B&B has three accessible floors, as the family naturally lives onsite. The first floor is the main entrance with the common/dining areas, and the patio overlooking Maryland Heights and the Potomac/Shenandoah Rivers. The second floor has more rooms, one with a full balcony. And the third floor is the Top Room, with windows overlooking each side of the vintage building. If you Google pictures of Harpers Ferry, Stonehouse is in nearly all of the shots, since the balconies are front and center of the skyline. The town itself is like a real life snow globe. But the B&B, the litany of museums, eateries and shoppes around it, as well as the train station directly across the street make it an overall ideal place to stay, be it for hiking, or for something else: A love of trains is what brought me to Stonehouse, so take note that rail traffic can be heavy in certain times of the day. But the light rumbles also helped put me to sleep in the already soft, cozy bed. A container of water was provided, and while glasses should have been cleaned of dust first, it was still a really nice touch. The room also had playing cards, ear plugs, plenty books and a whole lounge chair. Checkin was a simple set of instructions at the door with my name on it, with checkout simply being your absence at the appropriate time. In my case, I only booked an overnight stay, getting in at 8pm and leaving around 6:30am, with checkout/checkin being the traditional 11am/4pm. While I didn't stay for complementary breakfast, I did catch a stellar sunrise between the mountains, as well as nature footage from the neighboring park. All of that to say, I definitely look to return to Stonehouse B&B later this year.

The location is great because you're away from the hustle and bustle but still close to the highway. The morning breakfast was smaller but they always had something different, breads, meats etc. The pool is kept clean and the cliental is classy. I had one hiccup with a staff member but it was quickly delt with and one night of my stay wa taken off. Clean, good breakfast, nice staff, and lovely location. Will be recommending this location to others!

Disappointing Experience with Reservation Handling…read more I recently stayed at Home2 Suites on May 29, 2026, and unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing due to issues with my reservation. Upon arrival, my sister and I were assigned a room that was different from what I had reserved. I was informed that my original room was no longer available, despite having a confirmed booking through Priceline. This was both unexpected and frustrating, as I relied on that confirmation to ensure a smooth stay. During my conversation with staff, I was told that the property has been experiencing ongoing issues with Priceline reservations. While I understand that technical challenges can occur, this should not negatively impact guests who have confirmed bookings. It is the hotel's responsibility to either honor reservations or provide an appropriate and comparable solution upon arrival. This situation caused unnecessary inconvenience and disrupted our plans. It also raised concerns about the reliability of the reservation process and overall customer service. I hope management takes this matter seriously and implements corrective measures to prevent similar situations for future guests. Have not heard from the Corporate Office.

Unfortunately, when unusual circumstances arise on a trip, such as forgetting something in the hotel room after checking out, true customer service is tested. This particular branch did not deliver. My husband, who was in the area when I called, stopped by to check in person. The front desk personnel at that time, who is the same individual I spoke to, radioed a few folks who claimed they were not the ones who cleaned the room. Evidently, there is no log in existence to track such a thing. That was all that was done. They took down my number and told me they would call back once it had been found.
