In terms of service and value for money, Jade Pavillion offers great Chinese fare with a host that truly makes you wan to come back again.
Sitting near the foot of the Dandenongs, and operating for as long as I can remember, Danny and the guys at Jade do a fantastic job when it comes to group bookings. My grandparents choose to come here for every birthday and occasion, and while at first I was skeptical, I have been converted.
As a vegetarian, choices are usually down to an omelette or fried rice when it comes to some Chinese restaurants. (Even if you do get the fried rice, chances are you'll find prawns in it.) Knowing this from experience, I was glad to see a really good range of Bead Curd options, and when I spoke to the host, he ensured me I could order anything off the menu and they would make it vegetarian.
I recommend the Tofu & Mixed Vegetable Satay. Served with rice on the side, this is a tantalizing dish that recently won 4 vegetarian diners over when we were there. The vegetables were crisp and delicious, and the satay sauce was the best I've ever had.
A huge cheers to the host Danny for managing to make every group booking there a great night out.
Oh, and as the restaurant has no license to sell alcohol, you can BYO wine, beer or whatever you like. Bringing your own 6 pack is a great touch, and a great way to save money for more food. read more
