Three years ago, my regular cleaners told me that they could no longer work with me (moving out of town). I interviewed a few companies, but Angie really impressed me because I could tell she was organized and committed to providing a top notch service. At the same time, however, I had a friend who cleaned homes and was in need of a job, so I alternated between her and Angie's crew. Angie always could help me out in a pinch and her cleaners are super fast but very thorough (the benefit of having a team of cleaners rather than one person of course). I used her services sporadically throughout the past three years and she always came through for me, even tried her best when she was completely booked. This is crucial when you are relying on income from a STR and need last minute reservations when they come through. When my friend gave her notice this past spring, I actually felt like it was going to be ok, because I had a company that had proven themselves to be dependable and loyal to their customers. I was really disappointed with my experience with The Cleaners. What initially sold me was their…read morepitch: they emphasized that they clean both the windows and the frames. I was very clear up front--I told them how many windows I had and that my house is raised five feet. They quoted me $200, which felt fair for a full, detailed job. I agreed. They showed up on time and said the job would take about an hour and a half. But 45 minutes later, the technician rang the doorbell to say he was finished. That already seemed too quick to have cleaned all the windows and scrubbed the frames of a raised house with around 18 windows--but I was on a work call, so I said I'd check the work when I was done. When I finally walked around to inspect everything, I saw that while the window panes looked okay, the frames were still visibly dirty. I asked him to come back out and showed him several areas that hadn't been cleaned. That's when he told me he had only cleaned the middle of the windows. I reminded him that one of the main reasons I hired him was because he explicitly said he cleans the frames too. His response? "Do you want me to do all of them?" I was floored. Of course I do--that's literally what I hired him for. He got back to work, and as I watched from inside, I realized he didn't have a ladder. My house is raised, and some of the windows are 12 feet off the ground--there's just no way you can scrub those frames from the ground. When he finished again, I invited him in and asked him to open a few windows so we could both look at the still-dirty frames. I asked him directly if he had a ladder. He said yes. I asked again if he had used one. He finally admitted he hadn't. At that point, I was too frustrated to keep going back and forth. I told him I'd pay him half and let it go. To his credit, he was respectful and receptive when I gave him feedback. But that doesn't change the fact that I didn't get the service I was promised. Hopefully it was a good lesson learned for him going toward with his new business.

They were able to meet my schedule, arrived promptly on time, and worked tirelessly following a 3-week repair project due to a water leak that cracked ceiling due to heaviness of insulation. Having had to go through the 3-week project which left dust and small flecks of fiberglass insulation, it was a pleasure to have everything cleaner than before. Eddie tickled me when he explained, in cleaning my French doors (frame, windows and seals), he couldn't stand the way the outside windows weren't cleaned, so he walked onto porch and cleaned the outside (not part of the contract). Alicia came alone and got right to work, from my 3rd floor down to my 1st. She moved quickly but was relatively thorough as she cleaned her way through the 2005 sq feet.
