I do not write reviews, but I had to do this one…read more I have been getting my hair cut at Chai's Barbershop for over 12 years. During that time, I came to know Chai very well. He talks a lot about family and his wife and kids. he even introduced me to his family, including his wife and children by that caribbean kitchen next door, and I always viewed him as a upright family man. Because of that, I am extremely disappointed. Recently, I learned information from a close friend of mine that, in my opinion, does not align with the image Chai presents publicly. After reviewing text messages, photographs, a video, hotel receipts that were shared with me, and verbal confession from the 26 year old woman that I know well. I came to the conclusion that Chai was involved in a relationship with my friend's cousin while leading her to believe he was single, unmarried, and without children. This is very disappointing because someone I care about was, in my view, misled regarding his relationship status while he pursued an intimate and full blown-relationship with her. What disappoints me most is not his personal short commings but the feeling that the person I respected and trusted is not be the same person behind closed doors. I always looked up to you man and trusted you enough to bring my son to his shop. That trust is gone. Some of my family and friends said that I should have gone a spoke to Chai man to man, but I want people to know that this guy is not the kind, smiling and honest guy he pretends to be. He used my friend's cousin taking her to differents hotels across the valley. The hair cuts here is great, and While other customers going to this shop may have different experiences, I can no longer support this business. I will not be returning, nor will I be bringing my son back for haircuts. I am hoping his wife sees this too because she everybit kind and decent, and I bet she is in the dark as to what is going on. That really is just flatly too much for most anyone. What really ruined the whole thing for me is that I bought a package and spent about $1000 there to buy haircuts and shaves in advance. I am a cancer patient and for that reason I could not use those up. I was literally homebound for a few months. As my health improved, and I went to go back to the barber they said that those purchases had expired, although it was almost an entire package of shaves and haircuts. I had taken more than $900 and flushed it down the toilet. They would not make an exception. That's all I need to know. That is a terrible policy by anyone's standards. really unacceptable and unforgivable.
