There so many thoughtful touches, a pathway for my dads wheelchair, mulch barriers from my neighbors wild flowers, storage for our kayaks. The transformation was huge, it's like a whole new house. Gairy was incredibly kind, easy to work with, and very responsive throughout the process. Pricing was also very reasonable for the amount of work completed. We're extremely happy with the results and would highly recommend them.

Third job: (Last fall) paid for manual pulling/removal of Bermuda grass from garden beds, plus weed control and mulch. Emphasis on manual removal - explicitly was told they would pull all the Bermuda out manually to get all the roots out. Took a bit of chasing around to get them to actually get it on the books, and then when they did come they just buzzed everything with a string trimmed and sprayed weed killer over that. We agreed to still pay the full price on the condition that Gairy would send a team out in the spring once the Bermuda woke up and inevitably came through the mulch since it wasn't removed. He agreed, and we left it at that. Flash forward to this year and has completely ghosted us and been non-responsive. Even tried asking about having a bunch of other services added so that it wouldn't be a totally free trip, but still No luck. We finally gave up on any hope of getting the promised services, hired Mr. Outdoor Living, dropped like $4K on services with them instead and will be sticking with them next year when we do a sprinkler system and stone retaining walls.

We did a 7k project with Brett Harlan's Greenworx180 LLC of Charlotte NC in late June 2025 - 03…read moreJuly. We went with the company based on their reviews, which now seems less representative of their entire portfolio of work. To date, we have had several issues. The project: Greenworx180 was to remove existing vegetation from two large beds at the front of the house, removing mulch and replacing with new plants. This included connecting drip lines to newly installed shrubs and adding river rock to replace the mulch. Upon completion, we didn't notice anything unusual, and visibly, the job looked good. We didn't think twice given stellar online reviews. However, less than a week after the job was completed, I noticed that my front lawn looked very dry. Enter issue 1. I called up my monthly landscaping company to have them interrogate the problem as the issue was not immediately clear. They noticed that the front sprinklers weren't working and assessed it to be a solenoid issue. In August, I pulled the trigger to have that replaced (at $350) but replacing the solenoid didn't solve the problem. Upon testing the connection between the irrigation controller box and the sprinkler valve box, they found that the wire controlling the front sprinklers had been severed. All the wires to the valve box run through the beds in which Greenworx180 had been working. We'll return to this issue. Meanwhile, issue 2 reared its head when we noticed that one of the lights in the left front bed adjacent to a newly installed plant was no longer functioning. Upon inspection we discovered the light's wires had been severed but the light, interestingly, had been set back onto its stake. Issue 3 with a drip line was identified on 13JUL in our right bed. These were existing drip lines that had been positioned around previous vegetation that had been removed by Greenworx180. The lines were previously in working order, but after the landscape demo, one of the sections would not stay connected and discharged water like a fountain onto the front porch when in operation, apparently a newly added water feature, free of charge. (see photo) Issue 4 was identified the following week on 25JUL. It has become apparent that Greenworx180 did not mark our sprinkler heads before executing work. Consequently, they buried a sprinkler head on the right side of my house under a layer of landscape fabric and river rock. (See photo). Issue 5 is the same as issue 4: another sprinkler head under landscape fabric and river rock. (See photo). This was discovered in August while testing the wires running from the irrigation control box with different valves. This brings us full circle back to issue 1, which almost certainly is now understood to be caused by the work that Greenworx180 did in the front beds. So, what has the company's response been to date: After issues 2-4 occurred, we contacted Brett on 25JUL and he sent someone out to fix those issues on 30JUL. For issues 1 and 5, he refuses to fix these due to the time duration, as it took less than two months to discover, and even now states that they did not cause issues 2-4, though I don't understand how he can deny the issues, particularly when two involve an incompetent crew covering sprinkler heads with the materials they installed. Furthermore, our front sprinklers were working on day 1 as the crew requested that I turn them off as they started while they were working on the beds. Secondly, upon presenting Brett with a picture (see photo) showing where my irrigation wires run into the beds where his team had been working, Mr Harlan asserted that I didn't know what I was talking about. According to Mr Harlan there are no such irrigation wires running in that area, just a pipe coming out of my crawlspace. But hey, the one guy who stopped by to provide an estimate while he subcontracted the labor probably knows better. To add insult to injury, he did state that he would come out for a $185 service fee plus additional parts and labor to fix the irrigation issue. However, I'm not sure why anyone would ask for payment to fix issues they themselves had caused. That would be like paying an arsonist for insurance. Bottom Line: Avoid this unprofessional company. My project demonstrates a clear pattern of incompetence and a lack of accountability, two variables that make for a potent headache and wasted time in a small courts claim.
