I had a very disappointing experience with Oak Ridge Painting Company. In addition to unfinished and poor-quality work, several items in my home were damaged during the job. Communication was also a major issue. It was difficult to get responses, concerns were not properly addressed, and there was no final walkthrough or approval of the work. Despite this, a lien was later filed against my property, even though the job was not completed correctly. I have also been forced to pursue the matter through small claims court, and service has been attempted multiple times, including by the Sheriff's Office, without success. What made me even more concerned is that I saw News 2 coverage and posts showing that others appear to have had similar issues. Based on my experience, I would strongly encourage anyone considering this company to do thorough research and proceed with caution.

Not a good experience at all. We paid in full up front (big mistake) with agreed upon completion…read moredates since the paint job was part of a larger remodel. We went weeks with no work getting done. We made several calls and received assurances that the job would still be done in time for the other work to get done. Each day since work finally began, between 1 and 3 workers showed up and worked for about 4 hours before leaving at lunch and never returning for the day. This is especially annoying because they even asked us if we minded them working for long hours over the weekend so the job could get done on time. WE WISH!! Fast forward a few days and our house was in shambles. The "crew" that showed up dropped wet plaster everywhere and it was allowed to dry on our furniture and walls. Work was never completed by the initial crew. Matthew, the owner, finally came out after several days of calls. He assured us a new crew would complete the work. Sure enough, a new crew did come and complete most of the work. However, Matthew never paid them, despite the fact that we paid him in full up front. He basically took our money and ran. On Google, the business now shows permanently closed. The subcontracted crew is now placing a lien on my property for non-payment by Matthew. (It makes no sense, but that's how it works. We will have to sue Matthew to recover our money and will end up having to pay for the job twice to avoid the lien. Once to Matthew and once to the crew that did the work.) Matthew has not answered a call or a text for a week now. The subcontracted crew cannot reach him either. I went by his office, which is just a vacant suite with a sign on the door by all appearances. In my opinion, Matthew should never be trusted with your money or your business.
