This tree service was contracted by my Uncle to cut down the marked trees on his property as well as remove the branches and debris that had accumulated in the yard. Not only did they not remove all of the agreed upon trees, but they did not fully cut down the trees and refused to clean up the branches left behind. In addition to the service not being completed, their truck got stuck in the yard. After 30 + minutes of revving their engine in attempts to get the truck out, they left behind several sizable ditches, which they again refused to fill, stating they were not contractually responsible for that. Not only am I disappointed in their overall service, but also lack of consideration for my elderly Uncle and Aunt. This company has taken advantage of them. My Uncle and Aunt had paid for services in full, up front and the company refuses to make it right. I encourage any reader to look elsewhere when choosing a tree company. read more

Hired Jake's to clean up a huge side yard/paper alley that was an overgrown mess. He came in with his workers and worked their butts off. Cut trees down, all the overgrown vines that grew like webs ! We were amazed at the hard work and time they put in. They were here a full day and I did not see them take a break. Was really impressed. Jake removed 2 trees, laid soil and grass seed Sept. 2019 for me. After receiving payment Jake texted me thanking me for payment and stated he would send out an "official receipt". I NEVER received the receipt. This Spring the grass came in yellow and the areas he planted the seed are sinking. I emailed Jake on Tuesday May 19, 2020 stating the above and asked if he could stop by to assess the areas and offer suggestions to remedy the situation. Note: I didn't ask Jake to "fix" anything. It's Saturday May 23, 2020 and I've not received a reply from Jake. Jake doesn't have the professionalism or common courtesy to reply to my email. I've read on the internet the "yellow" grass is most likely caused by the soil Jake used. Obviously Jake didn't take into consideration the soil would "settle", didn't use enough soil which in turn is causing the areas to sink. "Soil with imbalanced nutrients will lead to the development of yellow grass. The most commonly imbalanced nutrients include a deficiency of iron or an excess of phosphorous". Stay away from Jakes Tree Service. He's unprofessional, lacks common courtesy, and will ignore any contact you make with him concerning the work he's done. Hey Jake, according to YOUR website we're entitled to our money back for the soil/seed you laid as obviously you didn't do it "right". "Reliability isn't easy to come by these days. We strive to satisfy any and all needs of our customers to the utmost standard. Jake's Tree Service professionals do just that and more. Any tree or landscape job is a job for us, no matter how big or small. We take our time and get the job done right or your money back"! Great work! I have used him twice now. I will use him again if they need arises. Extremely fast response (less than 24 hours) to remove a dead tree that posed a hazard to passerby's. Jake did some work for me about a year ago, brought down a tall dead walnut tree. I asked him to leave the trunk section of this big walnut in a long piece so I can get it milled into boards. Needless to say, they cut it up into 18 inch pieces. I told Jake that and he was forthright that they made a mistake and he did months later bring back an equivalent piece of walnut, which I did get milled. So fast forward to now, I've texted him repeatedly to quote some more work I have and I'm not even afforded the courtesy of a response. Perhaps he's too busy, don't know.
